I just got mine, and I simply dont use the flap clips unless I'm climbing. The velcro holds the flap beautifully. Im 100% with you on the noise, though. That velcro is loud. Still a non issue for me, as the emergency access tools go in the CCW compartment. The simple layout is something i enjoy. Being able to set up my velcro pouches exactly how i like them without having to work around pre existing pockets i dont like. Being near the city, i needed something that looked 100% casual, and most other bags stick out like a sore thumb.
Another great review! it should be called the three quarter because it's 3/4 of a great idea. In its current layout its a $70 bag. I do like the look, its a shame they wasted so much material and potential. Maybe they can tune it up and give us the Last call EDC plus.
thank you for showing exactly what i wanted to see. i'm looking for a quick access ccw backpack that truly blends in with everything. i'm getting older and can't "rock" my tactical bags unless i'm in the wild. i keep a modular system that can be attached or tossed in. this will facilitate carrying a 1911 as a "backup". :)
I absolutely love lack of organization. I've come to hate complicated bags/packs etc. This is marked down to 80 bucks right now in 2024, likely being discontinued, linited colors available, but I think I'll pick one up!!
It's definitely got a good look to it. I would probably use it as the dump bag that it is for clothes, like you said. Maybe in impromptu overnight trip somewhere or something like that. I just got my amp 24 pack a few days ago and I am loving the organization and the ability to slim it down to a much smaller depth. I also love how there is a rigid layer over the ccw compartment so that there is zero possibility of printing. I'm still deciding if the extra time required to draw from the bag is worth the convenience of being able to carry any size pistol you desire with extended mag and optics, if you so choose, without the discomfort of all of that size and weight.
Good video great details, thanks for sharing. It’s on Amazon right now for $109 I’m going to get it. It could use more organization but I’ll do with what it has no big problem. I’m not going to ever expand that front pocket it will serve as a stash pocket for me. For edc, groceries, short weekend trips (but using compression packing cubes I bet I can get 3-4 days worth of clothes in there which is a week’s worth) this is a damn good bag. This bag might not work for others. It’s a good fit for my daily routine.
I agree it’s over priced but as for the “organization” I think that Vertex was going for style and low visibility. This blends in better than other more tactical backpacks. It’s a cool bag for the niche market they are going for. I do like the way it opens up so large on top. Thanks for the review.
Good review. It’s really not my style anyway. I agree with you about the price. For me, a bag priced over $100 should be made from thicker material. And I don’t care what anyone says, there can’t be too many molle attachments 😉.
Hello my outdoors friend, thank you for your fine review of this pack. You had some very good call outs. Zippers on the top flap would be an added bonus. Also, it's a bit pricey for a dump style bag. Keep up the great reviews. 🤗
Missing the concealed carry and armor options in the main part of the review, which is the primary reason for looking at Vertx (and reason people would pay a premium for the brand) Currently, in a package at Premier with armor is $300, seems like a good deal to me.
5 11 makes better backpacks in the sense they actually put the room you need for items while vertx makes you buy them seperate i have a small 5.11 messenger and yeah I have to kinda force fit clothes in it if I'm traveling but it atleast carries my edc items and has space for them when I need it. The vertx ready pack i had to go and buy the pouches and stuff to make it even up to par. Yeah it has more room to throw shit in but its upsetting that they can't even put small pouches for that stuff in for a little bit more price. I like organization I dont like just dumping shit in the middle and having to dig for it. Once I upgraded it yeah its a better bag but I shouldn't have to go and do that
@@gideonstactical Totally understand. In my case, I'm all about the practicality. But still my rush 12 EDC is dark grey/black, and it doesn't stand out too much. I've only had a handful of people notice the Molle system
Yeah the Velcro can suck and zipping isn’t always ideal because you need to find the stinking pull tab. Why haven’t neodymium or super strong 🧲 magnets become more popular as a securing implement? ( Such as a row of magnets sewn into the lining)
Yeah, put a cool sounding name on a small lackadaisical pack and charge $100+ for it. That's the kind of thing that seperates thinking people from the drooling "take my money" crowd.
@@gideonstactical lol dont hear what im not saying tho your video on it was awesome ! As are almost all of yours bro. Keep up the good work ! Love the channel !
@@gideonstactical I guess it's more of a minimalist look at hiking...I wouldn't mind purchasing one if it cost less...I like the outer flap that hides indide, exposing the molle...i think it can have more than one use. Thanks for sharing with us !!! God bless!
I don't know why they didn't just take the edcready pack and add the flap. As much as I love this style of pack, it doesn't beat the grey ghost gypsy or the cannae sarcina. I hope they redesign this one.
My brother got this bag at work as a product placement sample from a client ( he is a senior VP and he gets cool expensive stuff). He didn't want it as he doesn't carry much so he gave it to me, I liked the style of it and carry my laptop and other accessories in it to work everyday. I figured its a $50 -$60 bag, i was curious and checked UA-cam for reviews. I flipped when i saw the price is $145 on amazon. way too overpriced.
#mailbag , are you still doing the GTshow and the #mailbag, or did I miss an announcement? #mailbag , would you share the contents of the first aid "cube" you are using, I'm trying to rethink my edc bags and cut down on the excessive amounts of items my OCD tells me I need to carry 😜
Definitely over priced. Just received the Vertex Gamut 2.0 that I ordered on a Memorial Day sale for $138.00. That said I was very surprised at how much the Gamut 2.0 weighs empty. In my opinion the bag itself is heavy.
The pocket on the lid idea is a really good one

There is no such thing as a "last pack" for gearheads :))
Tomas Justine Falconitin haha true and as you saw not super impressed

It's cheaper on Bereli with discount $70
Yup, picking one up today. Thanks for the great review

Just picked one up on ebay brand new for $97.00

I just ordered their commuter 2.0 as a way to carry a PDW. it should fit an MCX Rattler or an 8" MPX.
Can it fit a 10x16 armor in the back?

I would rather go with a Rush 12 or Rush 24
David S. Those are a little to tactical for me as EDC but my 5.11 dart24 or vanquest tridents are more my layout

Can you review a Cannae Sarcina Rally pack?

Bonjour très beaux sac où on peut l acheter au usa merci 👍🤝
Bro. I just bought 2 Soviet Czech packs from Sportsmans Guide for less than $30 (with shipping) which is almost the same thing lol

Great review, definitely don't like the non tactical look 😂
07/06/23: On sale for $69.99 on Vertx!
Red oxx best ever made by far!!👊👊🎯

Not everything is tacticool.
Fast forward a few years and they’re $60.
The grey ghost gypsy is more well thought out.
This could be a solid gym bag
Needs more pockets and zippers. I find buckles and velcro I hate.
Geez if you're bummed out about morale patches just sew some loop on the flap
Call it what it is: it is a plain backpack. It is NOT a tactical backpack. It is not a “low profile” tactical pack.
A Plain backpack with A Conceal Carry Compartment and a slot for Body Armor is a plain backpack ???
YOW that is expensive for a pack that small. I will stick with my packs from Condor and Voodoo.
Nope nope and nope
That's cool! Way too much money!
In the Woods with Bigfoot agreed

GTFO with clickbait titles
Vertx sucks
