If she uses so many products that contain a lot of silicones, would the active ingredients still penetrate into the skin or would they be "blocked" from the silicones?
Hi Kenna, would you be able to make a video clarifying the difference between "medical grade" skincare vs drugstore and high-end? My esthetician keeps telling me to buy medical grade products from brands like skin-ceuticals after I told her I use the la-roche posay sunscreen. Is there really a difference in quality of ingredients in these products as she claims or is she just trying to get me to buy products from her?
La-roche Posay products are bomb! I have super sensitive skin that reacts to pretty much everything and this is one of the few brands I've had no issues with. I use their sunscreen too 😊
You should have a look at lab muffin beauty sciences video called “more huge skincare myths and what to do instead”. There is a difference between “medical grade” and prescription strength (think topical treatments for acne that you get from a doctor etc). Medical grade doesn’t mean anything but unfortunately aestheticians are sometimes given out-of-date information when they’re studying or they work off commissions (which is a shame)
mkrocks1998 Dr. Sam Bunting here on youtube loves la-roche posay. Skinceauticals is a great brand but there are definitely great brands out there that aren’t considered ‘medical grade’.
Glitter Fallout City yes! The marine hyaluronics from the ordinary is similar and really great! I use it as a toner/essence everyday morning and night and there is some evidence showing certain algae’s are good for the skin. The ordinary price point is much better for these types of ingredients that don’t have a ton of research plus they help with hydration so it’s not something u want to spend money on anyway. Spend money on retinoids, peels and lasers when you get older. That’s money well spent on long term anti aging results. No Algae/seaweed is going to seriously transform your skin.
