- Churros are sweet fried pastries made from choux pastry
The birthplace of churros is Spain, where churros are traditionally served for breakfast.
Ingredients:
500 ml of water
120 g unsalted butter
1/2 tsp of vanilla paste
230 g of sugar
A pinch of salt
280 g of flour
2 eggs
1/2 tbsp. ground cinnamon
200 g of dark chocolate
200 ml of cream
1 liter of frying oil.
Method
1. Start by adding 500 ml of water, 120 g of butter, half a teaspoon of vanilla extract, a pinch of salt and 30 g of sugar to a small saucepan and put it over medium heat.
2. When the water is just boiling, add 280 g of flour and knead quickly. Cook for 4-5 minutes over low heat, stirring all the time.
3. Turn off the heat and let the dough cool for 5-10 minutes.
4. Add two eggs, one at a time, and mix them well into the dough until smooth. Transfer to a pastry bag with or without a nozzle, it's up to you.
5. Take 230 g of sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon, mix them together and set aside to roll the churros in them after frying.
7. To fry our churros, heat the oil to 160°C and gently squeeze the pieces of dough into the hot oil.
8. Fry until golden brown on both sides.
9. Take out of the oil and transfer to the cinnamon sugar.
6. Make the chocolate sauce. To do this, simply add 200 g of dark chocolate and 200 ml of heavy cream to a bowl over a saucepan of boiling water and whisk until smooth.
10. Serve with the sauce and enjoy!
