Mate you should play the basara games, specifically kanbe is far more developed in the games
Def plan to play them one day dude!
Best sengoku basara. Im playing games to enjoy good gameplay, content and awesome moves of characters not to study the historical accuracy
Hope it comes back
I like musou batter cause it's more realistic and more accurate from the history of japan and the details of it,you just need to complete all character and you'll know the real history of Japan
I see Basara and Musou like this:
Musou is anime action grounded in realistic storytelling and themes.
Basara is history on crack with almost no realism... However it manages to deliver a great, over-the-top story with great gameplay, while allowing the historical elements to still be easily followed by buffs like me.
Also not to mention the relationship between Shingen and Yukimura in Basara. Every time I see the "OYATAKA-SAMA!!! YUKIMURA! OYATAKA-SAMAAAAAA!!!!" bit I giggle like a little kid because it's so dumb yet so funny. The less-serious bits compared to musou is one of the reasons I love basara so much. They took a very dark time in Japanese history and turned it into a colorful, action-packed series.
I couldn't have said any of this better myself. Basara and Warriors both have their strengths and use those strengths very well. Warriors mixes their absurdity with a more grounded narrative framework, being simultaneously ridiculous and serious. Basara just is balls to the wall insanity and it works so well!
@@thunderbrospeaks9573 EXACTLY my thoughts man! Basara is why I wish more companies would make musou games. Just because the idea isn't original doesn't mean that a great product can't come from it. Hell, Basara was a copycat musou and from what I understand it's more popular in Japan than samurai warriors is. Hell I only recently became a basara fan because I'm feeling pretty starved on Samurai Warriors... I love Dynasty Warriors but Samurai has more interesting history to me. Here's hoping koei announces SW5 at ngpx on the 23rd...
@@SerotoninCrunch I'm still yet to play a basara game, but I totally plan to play one. I totally looked down on Musou games before I played Warriors. Now it's one of my faves, I would totally love it if they released a new one
@@thunderbrospeaks9573 dude same. I've been a fan of the genre for 6 years. I used to think of these kinds of games as repetitive garbage but that was before I played one. Musou games are definitely the type of games that are boring to WATCH fun as fuck to PLAY.
Sengoku Basara is a video game series that got an Anime adaptation...
Yes?
Thunderbro Anime did you look up the Sengoku Basara games? They came first and the Anime came later
@@freakrx2349 yea I know! I did say that I had only watched the anime though, I never said the anime was all that SB had to offer. I was just acknowledging the disparity in the comparison because I had played Musou's game as well as watched its anime, while only watched the anime of Basara.
Maybe one day, we get a Sengoku Musou Basara game.
Shingen and Ranmori Mori are also in both games.
I pray so
Masamune is THE protagonist of Sengoku Basara 😹 (the titlecard of the games literally have his clam symbol behind the actual title) Capcom even made Reuben Langdon (DANTE) his voice actor when SB3 got an english release.
Great point, makes sense why he was so focused on
I've been playing musou games since 2003 and I'm still in love with it.
I dont have much experience with them. I've only played the Gintama ps4 game and sengoku muso, enjoyed both of them tho
@@thunderbrospeaks9573
Then I'd suggest you play games like Dynasty Warriors 4 or 5.
If you think the Musou games are fun, I URGE you to play Basara. The anime is amazing but since it was based off of the game, the game experience is completely something else and BOY is it a blast and better with the mechanics with more depth to the gameplay. I mean it's imo, but it makes Musou seem way too grounded, you're pretty much playing an anime in Basara and the characters you assume would be powerhouses are exactly that with no nerfs. Good stuff though! I got curious to see how others think of the two series in comparison.
I absolutely plan on playing Basara one day! Thanks for the comment!
@@thunderbrospeaks9573 you're welcome! Definitely snag SB4: Sumeragi then, as it's the lastest one and has the best features the series got. It's all Japanese but totally worth it. In Musou everyone is different, but in SB you can *feel* how different each character is from mobility to combat and "personality" to the gameplay, I don't know how to explain it but each character is way too different than the next guy in the roster. Looking forward to your opinions whenever that comes into fruition 💜
@@violetmcfuckinlacksh2o123 Will see if I can find an SB game on the ps3 (which mine still works)
Super interested to see how the characters in the game compare to how I remember them in the anime!
@@thunderbrospeaks9573 I think you'll find the fourth there too. And I can guarantee you won't be disappointed, the characters that shined in the anime are just as great (if not better, Hideyoshi and Tadakatsu are complete beasts) and the ones that didn't get the chance to open up a completely different realm of opinions since they're better in the game. For example Mori is literally strategic gameplay wise, compliments him being this smart strategist and all.
Facts basara 3 on PS3 with good English dub and opening was littt 🔥🔥🔥 hope they make a sequel for next gen
If I were to consider gameplay wise, I would prefer Basara since the series was inspired by Devil May Cry (both games even took inspiration from each other with their movesets as well). Story wise... well since Musou had an English version, and being a bit more accurate to the original Sengoku Era while Basara was straight out over the top, story-wise and design-wise (Tadakatsu Honda being a literal gundam to represent his reputation of surviving through the warring states period absolutely unscathed), I would go with Musou. Both are great tbh, being the founders of the warriors genre while not ripping each other off (well, both are rip offs of the Sengoku Era anyways lel). Basara would have been a good competitor for the Warriors series if Capcom have done a good job with the localization. (They tried that with Samurai Heroes, but failed)
You LOST me when you said that you didnt play any SB games and only watched the anime adaptation..... yet you played all the SW games? thats one sided
Well I made that distinction clear at the beginning of the vid! I just wanted to get my thoughts out there about both series cause I enjoyed them so much (despite not playing SB's games)
Seems legit
I mean I prefer the characters over the gameplay.
Have you try sengoku basara game? The latest is basara 4 sumeragi now maybe if you've played it you can make a yang better comparison based on game vs game
Yang digoyang
The Koei versions of all of them just look like reskins of Dynasty Warriors characters.
Oof scathing
Basara is actually waaaaaayyyyyy better
That's only your opinion lol
Basara is better in terms of gameplay, action and characters' badassery and epicness. But Musou is better in terms of story and more accurate depiction of the Sengoku Jidai, so I have to say they are good in their own terms
Sengoku Basara characters especially the antagonists are more darker
I like both, but SW is overall better imo. SB is a little corny at times.

1-Sengoku basara
2-Dinasty warriors gundam
3-Warriors Orochi
4-Dinasty warriors
5-Samurai warriors
I kinda prefer musou
Basara seems portrayed some factions is evil
But musou portrayed each faction good(honestly not completely good, it's a bit questionable) but with their own different ambitions
You are definitely right that Musou straddles the moral line a lot more than Basara does!
I agree. And the downfall of the oda faction in Basara just felt rushed
SB is FAAAR more historically accurate in what really happend in Japanese history and Koei SW did barebones research. See, the battles in SW didnt happen the way the game tells it and half the battles in that game either never happend at all or they made it so that the victory was given to the wrong army. In SB the story is told in an exaggerated way and the characters look insanely inaccurate BUUUUUUT almost all the situations and events actually happend with the outcome that game did. Obviously they portrayed EVERYTHING soooo extreme and visually far from realistic but its way closer to Japanese history. As someone who studies Japanese history take my word for it rather than guess based on the extreme tone of SB and slower tone of SW like judging a book by its cover
EDIT: Masamune took over parts of Europe when he traveled over seas and learned some english words while overseas. On that same voyage he caught smallpox....... In Samurai Warriors hes an unlikable bratty child and uses wooden swords untill later games Koei said "FINE! we will make him a grown up so the fans will shutup"
My own research on the Sengoku Jidai is minuscule so I can't comment about authenticity or historical accuracy! I decided to just focus on enjoyment. This was a really detailed comment tho, thanks for taking the time to write your thoughts down!
Lmao no SB is not historically accurate.
Oichi did not take over the Oda faction after Nobunaga's death.
Hideyoshi was Nobunaga's vassal not his rival.
Kenshin Uesugi did not have a lover,But he did have two sons who were adopted.
Well first Samurai warriors's date masamune like a hate people and hate yukimura call everyone's a moron but he have a feeling but his is the great guns man, being childish
Second sengoku basara's date masamune really relax cool stylish being do nothing he play his dragon style always hate by yukimura but he do nothing he is always the power of three swordsman freshman do funny English word(zoro's voice actor who's now?)being a dougebag

Yes samurai warrior win🥳
samurai warriors musou was very interesting
dude you need to play sengoku basara samurai heros
I plan to play SB one day for sure!
SB for kids SM for Adult
Sm for boomer
Guess it's because some SB cultists who played SM whined about the strategy SM goes for lmao.
And it isn't KT's fault that children are bad at their games.I remember playing Dynasty Warriors 3 when I was a kid,And it was hard af lol
Musuo is better,I like Basara though,But I can't say Basara is better is not because of my favor of Musuo,But because Crapcom's Chad move on trying to sue Koei Tecmo for bs such as concepts that Crapcom doesn't own.
Interesting, didn't know about that!
@@thunderbrospeaks9573 it's alright if you didn't know ^^
I still like Sengoku Basara but not as much as I like Musuo lol.But SB is pretty good in my opinion:3
You should give sengoku mosou more points for historic accuracy...they did show the history much more acurate than basara...
you are 90% wrong, SB is FAAAR more historically accurate in what really happend in Japanese history and Koei SW did barebones research. See, the battles in SW didnt happen the way the game tells it and half the battles in that game either never happend at all or they made it so that the victory was given to the wrong army. @@lupinarsenal2260 how about azure dragon in SB mean while in SW one eyed dragon and the real history of Masamune date was one eyed dragon from oshu
@@lupinarsenal2260 No, you're 110% wrong... SW is far more historically correct than SB.. Look what sb did to oichi ☠️ she's not that simp to nagamasa
@@hidan6305 hes sorta right, the battles in SB did happen.
@@neroatlas9121 Some in SW did happen too
My vote would go to whoever is the most historically accurate and realistic, instead of being caricatures of their representations.
So Musou would win most, but if it was regarding a creative and pretty original alternate story based on the Sengoku Jidai, Sengoku Basara would win hands down.
The only thing I despise about both series is how infatuated they are with Yukimura, who's just annoying in is both.
On the contrary I love Yukimura in Basara, not so much in Musou! But you make a good point, for me, since both are taking liberties with giving characters powers and stuff, historical accuracy becomes kind of secondary.
@@thunderbrospeaks9573 I can definitely understand that.
Never watched either anime though, just played the games, so I'm definitely going to see where I can find them and give them a watch.
Didn't even know Sengoku Musou also had an anime
@@youknowthosedudes2583 yea the musou anime is weird cause the first and last eps are great but the middle is meh. Also unfortunately doesn't represent the powers of the series super well
Sengoku Basara is one of my all time fave animes tho, absolute fun
@@thunderbrospeaks9573 thanks. Yeah, I know some anime just get a little stale in the middle, but I'm such a sucker for anything set in feudal Japan.
Peacemaker Kurogane and Rurouni Kenshin are also some of my top anime for just that reason, despite Peacemaker also having some slow episodes with little more than exposition.
But Sengoku Basara does sound really kickass
Basara is still a better game sorry not sorry
