  • Solomonster reviews the Dark Side of the Ring mid-season finale on The Dynamite Kid, one of the most influential wrestlers of all time, but also one of the most troubled. There was an evil side to Tom Billington that the episode covered in some detail, but not nearly all of it, including his home life with ex-wife Michelle, his extensive use of steroids and the back injury that ruined his career, and the famous incident involving Jacques Rougeau with even MORE details here than you got in the episode.

    There's no denying his influence on the wrestling business. Dynamite Kid influence a lot of wrestlers from his hard hitting and stiff style of wrestling. Unfortunately, his violent behavior towards his wife, other wrestlers and people. I'm surprised that the documentary didn't mention the incident where he broke a little girl's legs to help his friend recieve insurance money. That's from his own words. It's just like the Benoit story, you can't separate his wrestling career from the evil acts he committed to his family. The same applies to Dynamite Kid.
    What I took from the documentary is the family is still struggling to separate from the loving father, violent behavior he showed, and his wrestling career.

    I don't think roids or CTE had anything to do with him being a monster. he was always that way but he was really good at hiding it until he couldn't be bothered too anymore.
    Had he not become a pro wrestler he probably would've ended up a leg breaker or enforcer for the Kray's infamous london gang "The Firm".

    • @UKpowerunleashed
      @UKpowerunleashed 3 роки тому +5

      It had everything to do with CTE and roids. If you wanna get philosophical... we all have monsters inside of us. We all hide it because it is the right thing to do. But when you loose control of those monsters, you become one.
      I get it you wanna hate him for what he did and there is no reason not to. Any sensible person would. But to state that drug abuse and CTE had nothing to do with it, that's absurd.
      You atleast gotta admit that CTE and roids compounded his rage and evilness.

      Racing drivers suffer the most severe impact induced concussions in the sports world yet I can only of one top level racing champion who was violent to the degree of dynamite kid or beniot and he was a straight up serial killer on the side.

      Based on what his ex said I'm very sure that he'd have killed his wife and the kids if the mood struck him right because he was just the type of person who would do that if he got mad enough to justify it in his own mind.
