The #1 problem I'm having with learning music theory on UA-cam is having to re-watch "For those of you who don't know anything, let me first explain what a triad is" get re-iterated on 1000 videos. There's already thousands of videos covering the material you put @ 0:40 - Did you really need to make us suffer through this YET AGAIN? Why did you feel the need to do this in the middle of a video about modal mixture? I just shut the video off because I can't listen to this yet again. This is a huge problem with music theory on UA-cam. It's not possible to learn without having to re-watch the same material endlessly, only to cater to the off-chance scenario that a beginner will be watching an advanced video and yet you're somehow going to make us all stop while they learn what a triad is? I go to watch a video about chromatic voice leading lines for tritone substitution, Well guess what, now we're suddenly talking about "for those of you who know nothing, let's first take some time to explain what a major chord is"
Why does a video about modal mixture need to address a person who knows nothing? Why can't they watch a different video? You could simply allocate 3 seconds to saying "If you don't know anything, watch this other video, MOVING ON" - You are ruining your videos because you're not willing to simply say that. You don't realize how much of a problem this is, maybe because you don't watch theory stuff on UA-cam. The problem is that you are too desperate for views. You don't need to "HOOK" the person who knows nothing, on every video, every time. It's like you're terrified they won't watch the video so you're going to stop to make a section for a person who is watching the wrong video. Send them to a different video, please stop ruining the videos with this stuff.

I appreciate your frustration. It's mainly a result of how UA-cam works. In order to reach a wider audience you need to cater to casual and beginner viewers. If you send people off your video it limits the ability for the video to get views as it's related to total watch time. The whole system is built around views and adverts and because people don't pay directly for the video you either have to play to the algorithm or do this for little to no return. I agree that it's not ideal for educational content.
