I'm a 71 year old Grammy, too!! Your tours of the yard are so much fun! I've learned so much about plants and trees and how to arrange them to get the most interest! Thank you so much!❤
Kaleb you are so smart I love watching you , I’m a grandmother too 80 but I don’t feel it sometimes I love gardening and cooking , So your Mom I’d like to wish her a Happy Mother’s Day , she’s a nice person too 🤟🙏❤️
I love your videos, I find them very relaxing. I love seeing the progress on the garden season after season. I also love nature and gardening. I love everything about it…even the hard, dirty work. I don’t have a big backyard but I love what my husband and I have created with all the gifts from Mother Nature. Sending love and wishes of health and prosperity. ✨✨✨
I live north of you in Winnipeg Canada and love that you highlighted your beautiful view. The prairies are under appreciated foe their beauty, the sky that goes on forever. It truly humbles me. Also I am very jealous for your very amazing soil !😊
It was instructive to hear you say you work on your garden as finances allow. I've always done that but, in my retirement, and after 10 years in my 1200 sq. ft. house (yard), at least the front and side beds are almost entirely filled with perennials. Now I'm working on the other side (my only full sun spot) and back yard. I buy what I can, go to the local seed swap every spring, and trade plants with friends. It's always a learning process, and I'm grateful that will always be the case. You are learning to deal with sun - I'm learning to deal with shade. Thanks for the tour!
I appreciate you talking about installing your gardens in phases due to costs and not wanting to be overwhelmed. Our house was a new build in July of 2021 so we have been gradually adding to our gardens. It is important to be patient and not expect too much at once. This year we are planting 3 birch trees, creating a new garden area to hide our septic tanks, and planting two limelight hydrangea hedges along our patio for privacy (4 plants on each side, so fairly short hedges). We won’t be filling in all the garden and that will give me more to do next year!
Keep sharing, after seeing your Allium blooming last year I planted 5 bulbs last year. A few weeks ago they sprouted with the head on them and it took me a second to remember what it was that I have planted. That’s the fun of gardening, always adding things and ever changing.
Here in the Bluegrass region of KY my daffs, tulips, crocuses, dogwood, magnolias, azaleas, 16:52 pulmonaria, spanish bluebells, & brunnera are done blooming for the year. We had a Very early Spring this year. Most of my backyard is a shade garden so I have nearly 100 hostas there and all the way around the house. Each year I purchase 6 different varieties and raise them in pots over the summer so they reach a good size to survive the silly squirrels. Right now the peonies are budded out & will likely begin blooming this week. Hostas are popping up everywhere and the hydrangeas are doing 17:48 so well. Now I just have to get busy weeding! Your yard & gardens are simply gorgeous.
Thank you kaleb for the tour of your wonderful yard. I learn so much even though I have been gardening for many years. Our active garden season starts a little earlier out west here with my 6 Trillium plants just ending their blooming cycle in zone 8b. Just tackled the dethatching of the lawn today since we have had a stretch of sunshine in amongst the raindrops. The part of the yard I have always struggled to get looking nice is a deep shaded area right by the house on the north side. Many plants have come and gone from there because I end up putting in what I love but only see it when I cut the small strip of grass there beside it so I move it to where I can see it from the house or patio. Finally have a row of Hostas there and crush washed/dried egg shells to stop the slugs from their snacking and the last several years they have grown enough to fill in the space. I just top dress it with some compost every year to build up the soil. We did have a late frost compared to normal which did in my Mother-in-law's azalea that we brought over from her house in the early 2000's. Sorry to see that go. The other was a very old heather plant so I really can't complain considering the number of plants here. Neighbours report that they lost several plants as well at the same time since they had already started to have new spring growth. Gardens are always a work in progress no matter how long you have lived there. 💕
Thanks for the garden tour Kaleb. I especially love the '4 seasons' garden with the evergreen backdrop! That area has such a unique character about it. Your migration from garden room to garden room is very subtle and it is so hard to accomplish this, but yours seem effortless. Thanks again!
In our prior home, we had to go outside and clear those furnace exhaust vents during heavy snows. You'd think the heat exiting would do it, but be careful! Ours got totally blocked during heavy storms a couple of times. We have geothermal heating/cooling at this house, so no more exhaust pipes. Love your garden tours. Beautiful and peaceful. Makes me despise the deer we have at our summer place in northern Michigan. I can't really plant a thing because of them.
You do such a great job explaining the plants/foliage/trees in your yard, the overall design, and your future endeavors. Keep up the great work! Not sure if you have interest in having your own TV network show, but you should have your own TV show. A no-brainer in my opinion. Keep up the great work and thanks for helping a stressed out corporate person (who is always seeking a new passion) enjoy the beauty of your property on a Sunday afternoon.
Garden tours are the best! I take one in my garden just for my own records on a weekly basis during the growing season. It’s so nice to have the visual references year to year! 💚
I loved this video! I am grateful that you are sharing the full year process of gardening. Your landscaping and architectural elements are artistic and inspiring. Thank you! ❤
I wouldn't want to give a tour of my yard. I've been here since 2021 and it's a junkyard. I have been working on cleaning it up since I got here and I am just now getting rid of a trashed camper. It's been a lot of work! I have been going based on condition but I think I am beginning to improve. Still though I have gone through a lot and I am struggling with a batch of poison oak or poison ivy. So I am taking a break to heal. I am on my 3rd week trying to heal. It's forward and backwards. Bit by bit. I am thankful to be at the bottom of that old camper. I have another round of trash to pickup but I am almost finished with that!! I have been trimming trees since late February but still a ton to get through and that's when I got that poison oak. This place is wild and almost 2 acres but most of it is natural. Lots of wild onions and random plants along a creek. Years ago, this place looked like a park. Enjoying life, even with the struggles of poison oak.😊
Thanks for showing us around all of your gardens, Kaleb. Here in western Washington it's still too chilly to plant many veggies. Hosta is coming up, camillias are almost done blooming, rhododenderons are blooming, and yes, rhubarb is up, too.
Mine is finally really waking up now. We are always 10 degrees cooler from mid island and the heat hasn't kicked in yet. Today was 60 and the first full day in quite a while that I've been able to work on some projects.
Just a suggestion....but you could place some rain barrels at some of your downspouts. We have 2 and use that collected rain water to water stuff when it gets dry instead of using our tap water.
I enjoyed your garden tour. Looking forward to the next garden tour to see all the colors. Thank you for the inspiration and motivation to have more thought into planting but it doesn’t have to all be at once.
'Usually I don't go outside (in February)'😂...hahaha! 💚 MI 6a so I can sympathize. Your boxwood design is absolutely gorgeous...as is your green combo of plants on the S side. Thank you for the beautiful inspiration.
Wow kaleb I tell you over and over aqain you have such a beautiful home and landscape how do you do it all on your own it’s beautiful tended to with love and care you should be proud thankyou kaleb ❤️😊
Your garden made my anxiety feel better. It’s a struggle for me. I have a massive garden as well but mine is still waking up from winter. The incredible green you have going is so lush!!! I’m so happy for you and your family to have such a happy place to call home. ❤
That was a great yard tour, Kaleb! I have only been watching you for a couple months now and I love your videos. They are nicely done and warm and friendly with a ton of knowledge. Your yard is beautiful. Lots of work and it’s all worth it. Looking forward to seeing your Mom’s gardens.
I would love to see your step by step of installing your row covers. I know it's not a difficult procedure, but I think it would be so helpful to so many. Also if allowed, what brands of cover you use. Your gardens are just amazing.
Your garden is so beautiful and your constant recreations are what make it an evolving project. I watch this Danish Gardener on utube and his several acre garden has been evolving over time and it’s absolutely amazing. Claus Dalby is flower garden extraordinaire. You remind me of him. Love your channel.
Here in Houston my rocket snapdragons and larkspur are almost gone. Still have pansies foxglove sweetpeas hollyhocks icelandic poppies petunias plus. Daylilies are just starting
I completely agree with enjoy the imperfect. My skill level is much lower than the projects I take on. I do most of the work and building myself which means I have to embrace the imperfection. Square-ish is square.
I love your front walkway, the boxwood are lovely. And your walkway is so nice. Love your videos last yeR I used the Espoma ground and fertilizer and had great results.
Thank you for the wonderful tour. And I really appreciate the details you go into. I remember my mother in law, my uncles and my aunts giving me details like this but I was young and didn’t have a garden. Now I’m learning a lot from you and from two more who have UA-cam videos. G’day Kaleb, I’ve been watching for years and have really enjoyed everything you’ve done inside and outside your beautiful home and farm… I love all your videos! thank you so much for sharing all you do! Marie from Sydney 🇦🇺🌸💚

Kaleb, always enjoy your videos and garden inspiration! Did you fare okay with the severe weather this weekend? Seems like Iowa has been hit hard by it!
Your gardens are beautiful. The table and chairs great idea, I really like tables or benches where you can sit peacefully and take in all the beautiful scenery. Your doing great job, I think best to take time and what you want to plant and do will come easily .
Absolutely love your garden tour! I live near Seattle, WA so I’m enjoying your drier plantings. I have a lot of color in my yard right now. But will start potting up some annuals soon.
This is a wonderful garden that I have always dreamed of: the lush greenery, the different structures and a lot of things that are yet to bloom. Your property is incredibly large, if you do it all by yourself, you'll be my hero. Looking forward to summer tour.❤🫶❤️
I am in Texas what you call the ugly area in your house looks better than my beautiful side of the yard 😂 I just moved to this house in the beginning of March so I am still working on it , I am watching your videos to take some ideas how things look and taking in consideration the weather but at least i get the idea how mixing plants in one area how it looks. thank you

Also planted detroit red beets and half long carrots. We will be getting tomato plants, pepoer plants, and cucumbers this week. I live in Chambersburg , PA, in zone 7A. Rhubarb coffee cake?! That sounds delicious
As always great video!

Beautiful garden.
Absolutely love your garden tour! I live near Seattle, WA so I’m enjoying your drier plantings. I have a lot of color in my yard right now. But will start potting up some annuals soon.
What is a turtle lily, please? I absolutely adore your gardens, and the way you mix structure and voluptuous flowering plants. Gorgeous!!!
Fabulous gardens
