  • so finally made it to the dyno. i was very happy with the outcome off the day. had some minor issues, some that where resolved and some that need some tinkering with back in the workshop. bike made 145bhp but due to one off the issues the bike wasn't really make boost and doing it predicatively. we did see 10 psi but only for 1.2 seconds at 9k rpm. the issues are being resolved and will be back on the dyno very shortly to start tuning with consistent boost

Love it man!! Working out the bugs is part of the process.
Not to mention that 143 at 7000-8000 rpm is killer

Yeh its all r&d which is all part off a build like this. I wasnt really to concerned about the power and how it made it after all the problems I had with the manifold undoing its self

I’m sure you already know but be mindful of your spark plug gap. I have a Honda Civic on 14psi and with the factory ignition I have to run atleast a .017 gap (.43mm). Anything larger and it just breaks up above 5-6k rpms.

i have actually fitted new plugs to it yesterday as i had a few issues with them. I dropped the the gap down to 0.7mm from the standard plug of 0.9mm but being iridium tips its quite hard to gauge them without damaging the tips. im currently looking into alternatives to use instead off the cr9ehix-9 plugs currently in it

Great videos! I've just watched the full build. Will you be finishing this series off? I've got an MK Indy kit car with a CBR 954 engine fitted that I've been thinkning of going down the forced induction route, I'd love to see your final results.

I will be. Got the last dyno session in May then its finished. I have been road testing it too with a very basic tune too. Soon as the final dyno sessions done I'll do the last video with the results and then start using it. The lock downs haven't helped at all as had it ready to re dyno since September. MK Indys are great too. Had one with an r1 engine fitted years ago

I am exactly the same fella. I've fixed all the problems.amd done a couple off 20 mile road tests to check it all over. The lockdowns totally messed the job up at the min as just waiting for it to end so I can get it straight to the dyno for round 2. I cannot wait to get it running on good boost

Any progress on this? Interesting to see how much boost the stock engine can hold!

I'm still waiting to get the bike back onto the dyno for the final tuning session ready ro properly abuse it. Covid hasn't helped the job as their is a massive wait for the dynos again. I am also in the middle of being treated for cancer so that's also slowing the job down a little too. The bikes covered about 500 miles on the road now quite successfully but without trying to use the boost alot. Only issues its had in that time is the fuel pump fuse blowing and the cam sensor failing. Can excuse the cam sensor as the bikes done over 60k miles

Yeh as explained in the video the bike was making no boost or 1psi at best because off the manifold issue. Thats now been resolved

@@mr_mon-eye Sorry, i was wrong, i though that the dyno men was a person that i know. Keep going i want to see the results until the rev limiter. The problem with the turbo far way from the exhaust manifold is a huge lag, but anyway, good project. Finally wich injectors did you use?

@@enriquemartinez1596 the turbo is quite responsive and comes on boost at 5k rpm. It's running the standard 240cc injectors and fuel pressure is currently at 80psi too
