@@cheapaudioman One recommendation for a rather fab bass presentation is the modhouse argon 3. I wouldn't necessarily do a review video on it (wait times for them are not quick and there are a bunch of review videos from ages ago already) but if you can borrow a pair from someone just to try them out for your own enjoyment, strong recommend. They're good fun.
As an " audiophile" I am very aware that the packaging cost is more than the cost of the driver of the headset itself, including most even some flagship stuff. Do some homework and not just make a story for a few bucks, audioman!
@@kateg151 the way this video is performing it’s going to be a few cents, Kate. Few other vids out there. May want to pop over there and leave something similar.
Thanks Randy for the great review and first look at he Harmonicdyne Poseidon. Coming up fast on 50K and your first year anniversary, I love your straight approach to audio and great value and it looks like lots of others do as well.
Wow you’re RIGHT on the cusp of 50k now buddy, congratulations on growing your channel successfully with great content that’s well-packaged and entertaining and certainly quite helpful. Thank your for for giving of your time and energies to the audio community so selflessly 🙌🏼
Great review and sharp looking headphones, I liked the design of these and the Zeus headphones. Also super cool that they reached out to you proving what a great job doing and the audio influencer you're becoming. Keep it up!
Passion for Sound also reviewed this headphone, and he mentions that the headband is a powder coated stainless steel? So the headband material may need to be confirmed?
@@cheapaudioman Randy, the shape of the pieces certainly looks like they are plastic to me. The other thing that bugs me about these, is the obvious veneer on the slider pieces. As a designer myself, I feel like veneers have to be really good in order to avoid looking like an add-on.
@@NeilBlanchard you had me doubting myself so I busted out the pocket knife. Plastic. The styling on the side and the headband is different for sure. It doesn’t terribly bother me personally but I can see it being a point of contention. I like the color scheme Of the Zeus but these are just fine too. I watched PFS’s review. We had some very similar conclusions. Kind of funny but confirming for me. The tuning on these is killer. Really really like it
@@cheapaudioman Right, it is interesting how a dynamic driver headphone is not full and extended in the bass - must be the open back? Have you seen the Indiegogo headphone Artisan that Z Reviews put up a few days ago? Planar magnetic drivers wood cup metal headband leather strap and suede pads - super low impedance, though.
Yeah. Besides the headband I really do like them. Not power hungry. Have something special about their sound. Cool secret agent case. At $300 they’re definitely worth it
What i've heard is they are like a less warm zeus with less width but better detail retrieval, so my guess is slightly warm but not as much as the zeus
Do you have any experience with the Zeus? If so how would compare sound stage and imaging between the two? I have the Helios and really enjoy them. You can get them to sound most any way you want with a good EQ so they respond well to adjustment as do my AKG 701’s. A subject most headphone reviewers don’t talk about . A certain reviewer… cough, cough…”Z”…sorry had a frog in my throat 🤣… will tell you all about sub base roll off but says nothing about how that headphone responds to EQ adjustments. I mean if they are that bad that they don’t respond to cranking in some sub base I want to know about it. Keep up the great work, don’t change your style. 👍
How do these compare to hifiman Ananda. I have ordered them on kickstarter. I have the Anandas too. After seeing mixes reviews, I am in doubt and if I should cancel my order.
Harmonicdyne have made the mistake of naming their $350 phones Zeus so now they have to name more expensive ones after lesser gods. I have the Zeus and think they are excellent apart from the overdone and thick upper bass that can often intrude into the midrange. If the Poseidon keeps the midrange clear while still having heavy bass that may be worth the price difference. There were such wide disparities between some reviews of the Zeus, I suspect that consistency of product quality will be something to keep an eye on.
Most people who have used both say the Poseidon have an even thicker mid bass, so this probably wouldn't do it for you. Try out some EQ to bring down the mids.
What happened to those EASTERN EUROPEAN "affordable'open back headphones. I can't find the video, but you enjoyed those too at similiar price. Which would you recommend?
I didn’t notice the video disappeared! That is exactly the same question I wanted to ask. I remember he was incredibly enthusiastic about the Verum One MK2.

I am new to "high-end" audio. I was going to get a pair of Sennheiser 560s to pair with my Hidizs S9 Pro, but you got me thinking about the Poseiden now. How do you think the Poseiden and 560s compare? Love your videos!
Hey buddy. I have the Sennheiser 599's, and I like them. They are not expensive ($200 US +/-) so I'd skip the 560 if I were you. Efficient enough to be powered by a cellphone. It's a neutral headphone I would say. The 800 or 8x series seems the be the Sennheisers to get. Anyway, good luck!
I really want to get these I would love to have quality headphones. However trying to figure out which headphone amp and dac I would need is far to complicated. I can't figure it out. Different phone connections and what not I'm afraid I would buy the wrong thing.
I like what Harmonicdyne is doing with the driver development and sound tuning but I just can't get into their build with either the Zeus or the Poseidon. The wood cups look great (along with the grille covers) but the side wood panel/inserts look way too tacky and cheap. I'd love to see them take a shot at revising their headband design, sure it'll be to a price point but I'd rather have solid molded black plastic than wood inserts. Appreciate the video, very informative as always, thanks!
I'd proced with caution with anything from Kickstarter. I've been burned multiple times on various products/promises. It seems most of the time...the "company" got in way over their head and ran out of money.. at least that's what is always claimed. There are no consumer protections if u get screwed. I hope everyone who backs this gets the item and it's as the same quality as the ones sent out for review.
This is an established company with 2 other headphone models (Zeus and Helios) already on the market. If anything the kickstarter seems more like a marketing campaign. I strongly suspect the 'early bird price' price will be the actual sale price.
Gee, thanks UA-cam for recommending me this video 6 days after I have already watched it, and backed the cans. Oh well, guess I am supposed to watch it again.
I want to hear these. I like the design too, my concerns with the build are the same as yours. The headband and extenders/ hinges really should be metal. Especially for the RRP.
The only reason I didn’t make a big deal out of it is their other headphones use the same headband and I guess they’ve all been fine. But it would have been nice to have some metal in there

i almost pledged at kickstarter until i saw a footnote that rewards are not guaranteed. site says used funds are non refundable. 😵😵
It's Linsoul Audio, I wouldn't worry about it. Plus you only get charged when campaign ends
EDIT: My only concern is the 35% restocking fee 😰
The Kickstarter page says there's a $46 shipping fee to the US, so $325 to get them to you.
