Yes, it looks like Linsoul were very proactive getting review units out to us all. Glad you found the pros and cons useful. As for the different opinions, I went back and double checked my impressions yesterday while discussing Zeos' review with a patron. I do stand by my impressions and I'm not sure why he's so convinced these need tubes. They do have a slightly more intimate presentation of the mids and bring vocalists a bit closer than the Zeus, but the overall soundstage is still large and spacious. It's definitely not a typical V-shaped headphone like the beyerdynamic cans tend to be, but I wouldn't say they're veiled either. They're quite unique.
This actually is increasingly common over the last several years. Timing regarding the lifting of NDAs (nondsclosure agreements) are typically aligned with a project launch date or crowdfunding kickoff and reviewers, compensated or otherwise, are asked to make their reviews available within a finite window. The makers want all of the reviews to hit the virtual airwaves at the same time to "create a buzz" surrounding the project. This isn't "hype" (which implies undeserved or exaggeration), but rather smart marketing. The makers want to maximize their exposure and the impact of their marketing expenses.
Well explained! For transparency, there was no compensation offered (to me at least) and they were actually quite flexible on the timing - I just chose to release with the Kickstarter campaign because it also helps generate traffic and growth for the channel. 🙂
I’ve also been quite curious about what seems to be discrepancies regarding the soundstage. Everyone seems to agree it images quite well within its bracket of competition. I have no doubt the soundstage will be cohesively done but I just don’t understand the semi-big swing from one reviewers perception of the Poseidon’s spatial qualities to the next. I guess I personally love a large and wide soundstage when it comes to a lot of the instrumentation but I don’t mind when the vocals specifically are still more intimately presented within that larger soundstage. Sounds like the Poseidon might be that general kind of character, or at least that’s kinda what I’m taking away from your description to a degree? Not like I would ever turn around and come back and give you a hard time later on just because my opinion differed somewhat from yours. Just trying to get a bit better of a feel for the headphones I guess!
@@heavyharmonies Dear HH, you talk marketing to a marketeer, no need! Again, congrats to Passion for Sound saying the exaggerations and the pros and cons clearly, unlike many other reviewers. HH, do you have an explanation why Linsoul (full of money) does a kick-start for a version of a well accepted phone?
Very nice reviews! I want to ask you if that sense of dynamic punch which Focals headphones have is present on these harmonicdyne poseidon/zeus. I saw the Clear MG driver in action, and i just felt scary about that performance.
I think the Focal tuning is a little different so it has a different type of punch. The Zeus and Poseidon are a little more smooth and less punchy in their presentation. They're excellent in their own way, but the Focal tuning and design is definitely punchy and energetic for better and worse.
I haven't heard the 7xx, but am fairly familiar with other, similar AKG models and the Poseidons are very different. They're actually very different from pretty much every headphone out there other than the Zeus.
Another reviewer thought the cables were crap. Is it worth spending an extra $40 to get the extra cables or would it be better to go with heart cables when I need to.
I may have received the better cables in the demo set (there was no mention of this in the communications when I was prepping the review). Personally, I'd probably buy some Hart cables instead because you can keep those for any other 3.5mm compatible headphones in the future
This review is so different compared to all the others I've watched. Resolve said this headphone was basically garbage and a downgrade in every way to the Zeus. Zeos thought they were great but only when you tube them with more detail but a more intimate soundstage compared to the Zeus. DMS said that they were a detailed yet very warm headphone with no sub bass and very intimate soundstage. This is the only review that said the soundstage was bigger and just in general an upgrade. Actually pretty crazy to hear a different opinion every review
They're a very unusual tuning that I think a lot of people will experience quite differently because it's unfamiliar. I went back and re-checked my findings after hearing some of the mixed opinions and there's really nothing I'd change about my review.
@@PassionforSound Well that's good to hear I hope I think of them as favorably as you did when I get my pair. I also have the Zeus and been loving them so hopefully i will enjoy those as well
I think you'll be very happy. I have both pairs here still and they're both really enjoyable, but if I was reaching for just one, it'd be the Poseidon I think. I wonder if some of the reviewers have been a bit too swayed by the sense of having to adhere to a specific target curve? These are WAY off that mark, but that's part of what makes them unique and fun.
I am now seeing more mixed and polarising reviews on poseiden. I have a hifiman Ananda. Which is a more expensive one. I wonder what will I get from the poseiden which is different. I enjoy the ananda. I am in doubt about the poseiden after some mixed reviews
The Poseidon is a very different type of tuning compared to the Ananda. It provides a warm, spacious sound that's about fun or colouration more than accuracy. It's very different from the Ananda in that regard where the Ananda is closer to neutral while still having its own character.
I pressed the button as soon as I could. What is the Db range on your graphs? I really like the way you are doing the overlay but a link to the graph with the data axis in the description would be great.
@@PassionforSoundthanks I really appreciated that video. I figure if I don't love them some one will likely trade me for a zeus. I have been tempted to get something harder to drive to test or my Asgard 3. But it is also nice to be able to use my qudelix 5k or es100 with all my listening devices.
I think it's important to appreciate each product for its own merits rather than having one sound / target that everything is expected to deliver on. That could make for some very boring listening over time
Nice... Well done !!! Very tempting but I am just getting started with headphones... Would love your thoughts on top 3 headphones in the sub $1K USD that represents the great bang for the buck....
I think I'd look at the Sundara or Verum 1, DT1990 Pro, and HD6XX or HD660S. All have different characters and flavours, but are all excellent. The HiFiMan Ananda is another option too.
Glad you liked the review! They're very different from the Verum 1. The Verums are a more neutral sounding headphone where the Poseidons are distinctly coloured (in a good way). I think the detail retrieval is similar from both (I haven't directly compared). I'd say the Poseidons are great for a fun, relaxing headphone while the Verums are more reference (i.e. less coloured) if that's important. Hard to say which I'd choose between them if I could have only one
@@PassionforSound I’m sure you’ve clarified many times in the past and I apologize if you specifically mention in your intro or anywhere in your video here, I was honestly multi-tasking a bit and had to rewind to catch your impressions several times and just happened to catch the video portion with the FR and got to wondering. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly 👌🏼
I'm just a know nothing here, but I wonder if that dip is achievable because of how the nickle produces sound vs beryllium. Backer #2 on kickstarter, can't wait to get these.
Hi SG, almost the same dip occurs on the Zeus so it's not about the metal material - it's just a tuning that happens to work because the bass and treble balance each other quite well despite the dip. Enjoy your Poseidons - they're great!
Hi! Thanks for the review, watched it al the way through and this really piqued my interest. Question though: Do these come with any cable that terminates in a 3.5mm? Or do the bundled cables only terminate XLR and 6.3mm connections?
@@PassionforSound ah, bummer. That's additional cost to consider. That puts these at around $500 where I'm from after conversion rates+shipping. Would you say these are still worth it? Also, these would require a decent amp/DAC pairing to get the best out of them I'm assuming?
Adapters should be very cheap (e.g. $20 or so). As for amping, these are easy to drive so power won't be a problem, but you'll be rewarded with better quality sources.
@@PassionforSound noted! Lastly would you say these are still a good value buy at $500? Or, based on what you've auditioned, there are better options for the price?
I still think they're a good option. There are other great headphones around the same price like the Sundara, Verum 1, etc. but that's where subjectivity comes in. I can't say any of them are definitively better than another.
Hey Lachlan! I pledged to this kickstarter and I'm excited to see what it can do. I've also subbed to your patreon, you've always been amazing to all of the people on your channel and your videos and your swift responses in the comments have always been important to my audio desicions so I want to give back. As always, I have a question. So I've ordered these and I'm in the market for a new Amp and DAC, I have my new arrival, the MT-602 here, but I want something a bit more high end. I will probably end up selling my Modi and Magni for cheap to my brother who only has an old Dongle Amp/DAC that I gave him. Is the Schiit Asgard a good budget upgrade from the modi if I don't need balanced and do you think I should go with the $100 DAC upgrade or simply get another modi to pair with it? I don't wanna go with the multibit as it's $200 more. I'm also probably gonna lend him my HE 400i 2020 and might want a more upper mid range planar headphone to add to my collection, do you think the Verum 1 (V2) is worth the wait and hassle of importing it in from europe to mexico over the SUNDARA? (You've recomended the SUNDARA with flying colors to me before, sorry to bother with this again, it's just I'm very obsessive about purchases)
Hi Andy, no sweat - happy to help! I think the Asgard 3 should be a great step up and the onboard Sabre DAC module is meant to be excellent. As for the headphone question, both the Sundara and Verum 1 are excellent choices so it probably comes down to what you're looking for (Sundara is slightly more laidback), but if I had to choose one, I probably would go for the Verum 1 on tonality and performance.
@@PassionforSound yes I'll watch it again, I have watched it a couple of times but not super recently, the final section between the Sud and V1 was on the one track if I remember because u know the Sundara so well, I'll see if it does cover the weight, I have read people talking of pad swapping the V1 to increase the lower register. It's why I went for the Sundara as I'm too new into this and as I said Sundara is a great ref point for me esp with my 6xx. I may very well try the Verum when I more confident in my own perception
No sweat. The V1 is a great headphone for pad swapping (the ZMF Universe pads in particular are great with them). I've actually got a Verum 1 giveaway organised with Igor (owner of Verum) so that might be your chance to get a pair for free - you never know! Stay tuned for a review in the nearish future for entry details...
Yeah, very different to both, but especially the Clear. I don't have the Clears anymore, but I imagine the Clears will be slightly more resolving. The Poseidons are a more relaxing listen though (without being boring). The Sundara have some similarities with their slightly warmish tone, but they're a flatter overall tuning so still reasonably different too.
@@PassionforSound thanks I am looking now for a small different yet relaxing and wider HP than my clears and I was thinking of zeus or Ananda , guess now Poseidon takes zeus position
Thorough review. One question. If you want to listen to your headphones fully balanced is it enough not use a balanced headphone cable or do you also need to use a balanced cable between the DAC and headphone amplifier thanks?
A balanced headphone output is different to the balanced connections between DACs and amps. Many amps with 4-pin XLR outputs will sound better when using a balanced input from the DAC, but it's more because of the design of the amp rather than the need for balanced in and balanced out. In other words, it's a tricky question to answer. I'd generally suggest that if you're using a balanced HP output you'll likely get better performance from a balanced input to the amp (i.e. from a balanced DAC), but there are exceptions, particularly with higher quality amps like the Singxer SA-1, Burson Soloist 3XP, etc. On these amps, they've taken care to build single-ended input stages that are just as good as the balanced, but it will vary from one brand to the next.
That's a very subjective question and depends on which version T1. I think either way, they're a nice headphone at the price and they're different from anything else I've tried
@@PassionforSound I have the first generation, I tend to lisen to rock and metal for the most part, but also some classical (and modern), jazz and blues.
Put my name down for the Kickstarter. Let's hope it turns out well. BTW will you be reviewing the LCD-5. The first TOTL IMO that's worth it in a fair while.
Yes! Been waiting on this one for ages, the Zeus has been my daily driver since I got it, I prefer the sundara for rock and busy tracks but I prefer the Zeus mostly for the mids and bass. I wonder if the Poseidon is much of an upgrade.
Only you can answer that one. They're very similar headphones. The Poseidon is a bit of an upgrade I think overall, but it's going to come down to personal taste and there's not really any point owning both I think
I had the same impression on the Zeus, that left stock, they sound veiled and yet still slightly fatiguing. Like all of my headphones, I swapped out the ear pads. When tuned using another set of pads (Dekoni elite fenestrated in my case), I was able to fix these issues and was able to pull some more detail out that was previously hidden. I’m curious as to how these two would compare with pads swapped. But at the $60 I think I spent on those pads, now a days would just make more sense to just go for the Poseidon.
Hi Devin, I tried playing with a few pads on these, but didn't have much success on the pads I happened to have available. As far as I can tell, the stock pads on each are identical despite the marketing.
I do own the Beyerdynamic T5 and it is the best hp of the ones I own. But I did notice how the drivers of the Poseidon are angled very similar to the T5 drivers. But I imagine my Meze 99 Classic are more to my liking for a step down hp from the T5, and for a lower price than the Poseidon.
Now I don't know..........Zeus or Poseidon for "the best Details+Dynamics+PunchyBigBass+Soundstage+Image headphones" for SymphonicMetal and gaming.......... I have topping DAC/AMP stack without headphones :D
Anyone able to suggest a headphone that has power and soundstage? I have the 1060c modded, the he4xx and 1990 for editing. But I’d love to have something that is open and deep. That make sense?
Coating of a metal doesn't mean much. You're just adding weight to whatever metal is below it. A pure beryllium driver will sound nothing like an x metal coated with beryllium driver.
In case I wasn't clear, in both cases (and in most metal drivers) there is a layer of the metal (or Graphene, diamond like carbon, etc.) over the top of a plastic diaphragm so the only variant here is the metal used to coat the underlying plastic
Their philosophy seems similar to Grados. Grados don't tune to any kind of curve or target. They just tune their headphones based on what sounds good to their ears. And they sound fantastic despite what you may think they would sound like based on how they measure. Not saying the HD are in the same league as Grados but they both seem to be cut from the same cloth, as the old saying goes.
That's a really good analogy. They're a very different sound from the Grados, but equally enjoyable (for those who are happy to deviate from neutrality)
You make a good point.... but I don't understand why Grado hasn't improved their pads? Many usually swap out the og pads for bigger/more comfortable pads
@@JTB-- Even the bigger pads are kinda uncomfortable. They claim that it's because of the sound signature and tuning which does make sense but I'd rather listen to terrible headphones if they are comfortable than amazing sounding headphones that aren't comfortable at all. The bigger pads are ok but still not amazing.
@jzo I agree with both but the harshness is a preference thing IMO. I love my hd 700 and those kinda sound like a more well rounded and less thinny version of a grado.
@@trevor245 I agree. I had a pair of Grado SR80x and while I liked the sound signature... the pads were a deal breaker. Even after swapping for the bigger pads the comfort was still terrible after a short while. Sold them on eBay. Comfort really is as important as sound... especially if it's a headphone you would be wearing for longer listening sessions or gaming etc...
Okay so I'm guessing they're a dynamic that performs slightly above the HD600 but below the Elex? Personally I don't recommend either, as there similarly priced Planars are much better imho.
OK, where is that review on the Burson 3X GT. lol I'm impatient. Lol OH OH And the Burson Conductor 3X Reference. I have to decide what to do next. OK, I will try to be more patient..................
@@PassionforSoundinteresting... that's a HUGE dip. I know 4k dip sometimes works and increase the perception of soundstage, it works in IEMs too. But never seen anything this severe
It looks pretty crazy, but somehow it works as an overall tuning and I think you're definitely right about the dip being used to create the space. That trick sometimes backfires, but not here.
FYI all of you headphone reviewers mispronounce the names from Hifiman, like Sundara. It is an Indian word (Sanskrit for “beautiful”). It’s pronounced more like “soon-the-ruh”). Hifiman uses Indian / Sanskrit names for most of their stuff.
Who cares about 10 Hz. People can't hear 10 Hz. I don't know if any music that's recorded down to 10 Hz. I don't know if there's any format that goes down to 10 Hz. Even 20Hz is not that important in headphones. 30 Hz performance is much more important.
@@hartyewh1 every headphone can reproduce 10 Hz though the level maybe so how it's extremely irrelevant. Do they claim how many dB down it is at 10 Hz? No so again it's irrelevant.
Most digital formats will reproduce single figure hz. As for music , yeah not much has stuff down that low. Some massive pipe organs get into single digits as do very large drums , then there's carzy bass head music and films. Also asmr thunderstrom recordings are fun. However yeah with headphones its fairly irrelevant. Serious subs are required to reproduce such things.
@@chrisvinicombe9947 if you could link or list a track that had single figure frequency components I would be very interested. Do you know which digital recorders can record that low?
It's one version of the frequency response because it all depends on the compensation applied, but either way, judging a headphone by its FR is rarely a good idea. These are a great example - yes, they're VERY coloured and far from neutral, but they're a great listen.
@@PassionforSound You're right I think it's the compensation. Or maybe lack of ear gain. But you are right freq response is far from everything it just looks pretty mid bloated here it could still be fun
It definitely doesn't sound mid-bloated. The compensation curve I use will display a neutral sounding headphone as mostly flat with a downward slope in the treble so this is a very interesting tuning, but the bass and treble boosts manage to balance one another in a very interesting way
Jack, there are those of us who listen to music for enjoyment and this headphone provides that type of sound as opposed to an analytical or completely accurate sound

Great review, any chance you will review the Meze Elite and LCD-5 anytime soon?
Meze Elite review is locked and loaded (stay tuned). The LCD-5 I'm not so sure - depends on if I can get some here
Very nice reviews!
Just backed, looking forward to get an open back that can complement my airy and light stax l300. Great review alongside cheapaudioman's!
Hope you love them! Glad you liked the review
How different are these to the AKG K7xx? I have the K7xx and deciding if I should get the Poseidon
Hi Chris, I use a 60-96dB scale, but please check out my recent video about reading (my) FR graphs before drawing too many conclusions.
I hope you enjoy them - I think they're a hard headphone to not at least appreciate so hopefully you'll go beyond that and thoroughly enjoy them!
Have you ever tried the AudioQuest Nighthawk or Nightowl? Those seem to have a similar frequency response, and people either love them or hate them.
I own both and love both. They have quite a different sound to these though
@@PassionforSound wow you do have a varied sound appreciation, good for u 👏
I think it's important to appreciate each product for its own merits rather than having one sound / target that everything is expected to deliver on. That could make for some very boring listening over time
Nice... Well done !!! Very tempting but I am just getting started with headphones... Would love your thoughts on top 3 headphones in the sub $1K USD that represents the great bang for the buck....
I think I'd look at the Sundara or Verum 1, DT1990 Pro, and HD6XX or HD660S. All have different characters and flavours, but are all excellent. The HiFiMan Ananda is another option too.
Great review as always Lochlan, how do these compare with those handmade headphones from Ukraine? Verum 1, I think they were called.
@@PassionforSound Thanks for the response. At this point, I have enough headphones, just always curious.
Thanks for getting this review out so early! What was the scale you used on the FR you overlaid of the Zeus and Poseidon btw?
Always 60-96dB on all measurements 🙂 and using the HPN compensation curve for the MiniDSP HEARs within Room EQ Wizard
All good. I don't specify the scale or compensation anywhere as I try to avoid focussing on the FR graphs too much 🙂
@@PassionforSound I actually do love that methodology and reasoning behind it. Focus on the music like your channel does 👌🏼
Thanks WSL!
@@PassionforSound interesting, definitely can't wait to try it out.
Hi! Thanks for the review, watched it al the way through and this really piqued my interest. Question though: Do these come with any cable that terminates in a 3.5mm? Or do the bundled cables only terminate XLR and 6.3mm connections?
4-pin or 6.3mm only in afraid. You'd need to pick up an aftermarket cable with dual 3.5mm plugs at the headphone end or a 4-pin XLR to 3.5mm adapter
@@PassionforSound does the v1 have less bass extension and less weight than the Sundara without pad rolling though?
It's not as weighty. I can't recall on the extension which is stronger - maybe check the final part of the budget planar battle video for that answer
Excellent review.
Looking forward to a beyerdynamic dt900 pro x review.
I have both their new cans on the way 🙂
How do they compare against OG clear and sundara ?? will it be a good different signature than clear !!
Yep. The Poseidon should be a great fit
@@PassionforSound thank you very much.
As a user of T1, do you think this are worth for a different sound?
That's a very subjective question and depends on which version T1. I think either way, they're a nice headphone at the price and they're different from anything else I've tried
@@PassionforSound I have the first generation, I tend to lisen to rock and metal for the most part, but also some classical (and modern), jazz and blues.
I know the first gen well having owned them for ages (no longer though). The Poseidons will be an excellent complement I think
Wish we are nearer geographically then I can send my newly purchased headphones for you to do reviews
That would be great, but it's OK. I can get my hands on MOST gear these days
Put my name down for the Kickstarter. Let's hope it turns out well.
BTW will you be reviewing the LCD-5. The first TOTL IMO that's worth it in a fair while.
Hope you love it!
No plans for an LCD-5 review just yet, but that's not to say it can't happen.
Yes! Been waiting on this one for ages, the Zeus has been my daily driver since I got it, I prefer the sundara for rock and busy tracks but I prefer the Zeus mostly for the mids and bass.
I wonder if the Poseidon is much of an upgrade.
Hopefully I answered your question here? I believe it is a worthy upgrade, particularly at the early bird pricing
Well it depends on shipping and tax, mine is 440$
Could you EQ the sub bass to bring it up to flat or would you end up with a distorted mess at normal listening volumes.
Thought I responded to this one... You could EQ it a bit, but trying to get it flat would take too much boost. I think 3-4dB could still help though
@@PassionforSound for people who care about sub-bass they probably should start with a different headphone.
I'd agree
Hi, if i already has the zeus, should i get the poseidon?
You need to learn how to write something else then the same shit you been writing in all channels. Nobody gives a f ;)
Ali, there's no need to be disrespectful to other people.
Hi Devin, I tried playing with a few pads on these, but didn't have much success on the pads I happened to have available.
As far as I can tell, the stock pads on each are identical despite the marketing.
@@PassionforSound yeah true, i shouldn't be disrespectful. But i get a feeling that he is a bot for Linsoul.
If that's the case it's a shame
sivga sv021 , beyerdynamic dt700 pr ox review?
Working on both of those. I have the DT 700 & 900 here now
I'd say I'd like a comparison to sivga phoenix, but I think I'm about ready to do that myself...
That's lucky because I don't have the Phoenix here - they were a loaner
I do own the Beyerdynamic T5 and it is the best hp of the ones I own. But I did notice how the drivers of the Poseidon are angled very similar to the T5 drivers. But I imagine my Meze 99 Classic are more to my liking for a step down hp from the T5, and for a lower price than the Poseidon.
The Meze 99 are great, but very different from the Poseidon. Which generation T5 do you have?
These on a Tor balanced tube amp are amazing.
I haven't actually tried them on tubes, I think. I should give that a go
Now I don't know..........Zeus or Poseidon for "the best Details+Dynamics+PunchyBigBass+Soundstage+Image headphones" for SymphonicMetal and gaming.......... I have topping DAC/AMP stack without headphones :D
The Poseidon is basically the Zeus only done better. I'd go for the Poseidon if I were you 🙂
Thanks for the answer!
My pleasure
Anyone able to suggest a headphone that has power and soundstage? I have the 1060c modded, the he4xx and 1990 for editing. But I’d love to have something that is open and deep. That make sense?
What do you mean when you say power? I think the Poseidons might be what you're after, but I'm not sure.
Can you compare Zeus / Poseidon ?
It would be super cool if you listen some SymphonicMetal for this compare...
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I already compared them in the video 🙂
Better than Verum one?
Very different so no. Verum 1 is more neutral and not as laidback (not that Poseidon is overly laidback)
Personally I don't recommend either, as there similarly priced Planars are much better imho.
similarly priced planar has very compressed dynamic range tho
I love planars, but a well-tuned dynamic has its own magic too. These are VERY different headphones to either the HD600 or Elex.
Thanks!
OK, where is that review on the Burson 3X GT. lol I'm impatient. Lol OH OH And the Burson Conductor 3X Reference. I have to decide what to do next. OK, I will try to be more patient..................
Haha. The GT still hasn't arrived due to all our post and freight being delayed at the moment. Not sure if I'll have a Conductor review.
26:30 the huge dip in the upper midrange is because of the measurement fault I assume?
Nope, that's the tuning of these. I know it looks wonky, but somehow it works.
That trick sometimes backfires, but not here.
is zeos' take on a headphone not actually hot this time?
Meaning that he's not ahead of the crowd or that we don't exactly agree? 🙂
@@PassionforSound no it's just that his opinion of a headphone is not in the minority of the headphone reviewer this time
Ah, gotcha 😁
Why would you want a case like that instead of a carboard box my $800 Audeze came in?
Yeah, it's a bit overkill, but makes a strong first impression. The trouble is that it will likely end up collecting dust on a shelf or in a cupboard

Yes, I know. I tried to correct myself once upon a time, but it's too strong of a habit now ☹️
Who cares about 10 Hz. People can't hear 10 Hz. I don't know if any music that's recorded down to 10 Hz. I don't know if there's any format that goes down to 10 Hz. Even 20Hz is not that important in headphones. 30 Hz performance is much more important.
But isn't it a potentially good sign when a headphone can reach past the audible and then presumably work not at it's limits in the audible region?
@@hartyewh1 every headphone can reproduce 10 Hz though the level maybe so how it's extremely irrelevant. Do they claim how many dB down it is at 10 Hz? No so again it's irrelevant.
Most digital formats will reproduce single figure hz. As for music , yeah not much has stuff down that low. Some massive pipe organs get into single digits as do very large drums , then there's carzy bass head music and films. Also asmr thunderstrom recordings are fun. However yeah with headphones its fairly irrelevant. Serious subs are required to reproduce such things.
The roll-off by 10Hz on these is pretty extreme, but also (as others have said) not very relevant either way.
@@chrisvinicombe9947 if you could link or list a track that had single figure frequency components I would be very interested. Do you know which digital recorders can record that low?
Why say “ do not believe the marketing” what’s that mean ?
I explain that in the video. There's a chapter marker / time stamp you can jump straight to if you want to see that section.
is that the real freq response? thats the most horrid trash ive ever seem LMAO @23:50
The compensation curve I use will display a neutral sounding headphone as mostly flat with a downward slope in the treble so this is a very interesting tuning, but the bass and treble boosts manage to balance one another in a very interesting way
a $300 case or a $3000 case and each with a $50 headphone.... hmmm
Neither is a $50 headphone - both are excellent headphones in their own right.
When talking about sound-sonic quality-‘fun sound’ is meaningless drivel.
Jack, there are those of us who listen to music for enjoyment and this headphone provides that type of sound as opposed to an analytical or completely accurate sound
