I sang this with 15 years old and it made me a choral fan. I am still singing in 3 choirs at 63!!!

This is my favourite Mozart Mass. Simple and perfect! That’s why I believe in miracles!

Wonderful! Sang this while living in Munich in the 80's. German American Choral Society. We sang it downtown at the Asam Kirche . It was a very memorable experience.

si significa proprio quello lo senti nel sanctus prima del "pleni sunt coeli et terra" quelle acciaccature musicali sembrano i cinguittii dei passeri...

@svigorelli Spatzen Messe significa la messa del passero? Se si perché?

In the age of Mozart how did they organise the chorus, were they professionals or amateurs, and who were the musicians?

The musicians were pros, usually. The singers were not, except for the soloists.

Great soloists & tempos but somewhat thick, heavy & ponderous performance. I suspect a totally amateur chorus. It lacks a lightness & the choral intonation is a bit on the edge for me.

Hardly. I have conducted and performed many Mozart masses and they are at best, brilliant routine. The C minor K427 and the K626 are exceptions.

Shnimmuc this is your opinion. I absolutely love Mozart. Please allow people to be free to enjoy what they like.

Relax, if you think it great fine. I think it is work-a-day.

No, +shnimmuc is right. Mozart wrote many brilliant and inspired music, but the masses (except the coronation, and the requiem, which are outstanding) are really brilliant routine. Beautiful, but not very exciting.
But, +Joanna Space, nobody wants to spoil your (well founded) joy when you listen :)
