    Got a good mod for you: replace the rear factory axle with a Jmacx rear chromoly axle, which helps fix up the 70 series wheel track mismatch legally & properly. That way you’ll be able to rotate properly without having 2 different offsets.

    Is your snorkel loud mate when your window down ? After some info about them that’s all 🤙🏼

    • @TeamBulletOffroad

      You can hear it, probably wouldn't say annoyingly loud, 90% of the time we have windows up on the highways anyway as they are a real loud car all-round.. I don't mind the noise from the snorkel..Thanks mate for the comment.

    Hi there Drecnh, another great video. I have enjoyed your explanations of things. I am likely to purchase an LC79 soon, but am curious on a couple of points if you have time: -
    1) With the GXL, the standard tyre size is 265/70 R16, equating to a 30.6 inch tyre. Can you explain how I will be able to increase the tyre diameter to 35 inches legally, especially given most Australian states allow only a 2 inch change? Is it because the Workmate comes with 32.8 inch tyres?
    2) You mentioned in another video that you got the GVM upgrade at the time of purchase. Can you tell me how that is achieved?
    Many thanks and keep up the good work. Cheers, Cass.

    • @TeamBulletOffroad
      @TeamBulletOffroad  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks Cass, I too just ordered a new 79, this time doing pre rego portals, so exciting times ahead..
      Be warned, its up to 9 months wait for 1 at moment after signing the dotted line.
      You get away with a 315 75 16 which is just under 35s, yes the split rims the workmates have is the grey area re legality, but you still. need 2 inch lift to clear them, so we lucky the 70series shape hides a big shoe.
      At present its all about headlight height, being 1200...
      My 3 inch front coils on the 35 inch treps were only around the 1100. So again, lucky the old farm truck can discretely hide these...
      If you keep the tyres inside the guards you most likely be ok..
      GVM, its different now to 2016, most toyota dealers are all over this and have their own favourite dealer to send them to...
      Check with whoever you are dealing with and go with whatever brand they use, trust me you will need it, with bar work and accessories you will eat into your gym in no time.
      Good luck with the build..
      Send some pics through to facebook.com/Team-Bullet-100204266695954/ once she's built..

      @@TeamBulletOffroad Yea, those Portals; if only I had a few more grand to spare ; This will be my 5th major expedition build, but first in an LC79. I will be sure to pass on the build photos once it gets started. As you say, a bit of a wait... Cheers for the info matey. I look forward to your next build. Cheers, Cass.

    Get one of those eBay rear diff/transfer/gearbox/ front diff breather kits & mount the breathers under the bonnet. Those stock Toyota breathers don't work, try taking off your breather hoses after a drive & they will suck air in....or water in. Use some hose onto your original pipe barbs & push the new breather hose inside it.

    • @TeamBulletOffroad
      @TeamBulletOffroad  3 роки тому

      Ive got the rear one running into toolbox and front into engine bay, its only the rear I have issues with, like an old hj75 I had we worked out it was sucking water through the axle seals?? Its sucking it through the axle seals somehow, im sure of it???
      Its got me scratching, that's for sure....

    • @dustyfarmer
      @dustyfarmer 3 роки тому

      @@TeamBulletOffroad If they still have the standard Toyota breather caps on them they don't function. Pull the breather hose off after a drive and listen to the pressure escape. gearbox, transfer will all do the same. Run a bead of rubber grease or axle grease or diff oil in the seal lips when you install them so they don't run dry, they will seal for longer.

      @@TeamBulletOffroad You can get heavy duty axle seals from Terrain Tamer, you might have to pressure test the housing to make sure it's not cracked & letting water in on deep water crossings but if the axle housing isn't freely breathing to atmosphere you're going to have issues with leaking seals.
