I have heard and still continuing to listen to your isai payanam. I am very glad to note that you have a wider section of viewers who enjoy this programme.
Dr.Charulatha Mani madam, you selected a wonderful and melodious song( by l.r.easwari from k.balachander's " velli vizha ") and rendition of the song was simply fabulous. The basic fact is that you had learnt the rudiments of carnatic music very early from your mother Smt Hemalatha Mani. I have heard from my sister-in-law(smt Ganga ramanathan w/o K.V.Ramanathan IAS from 2nd seaward road, valmikinagar, thiruvanmiyur and also from Smt Vijayalakshmi Subramanian of 1st seaward road that your mother was a very learned singer as well as a veena player. It's really great and you had the blessings of Maha Maha periyavaa that you learnt the carnatic music and you were able to sing in grand style. Also with the recordings, you were the recipient of the blessings from MS amma, D.K. Pattamma and Shri Semmangudi Sreenivasa Iyer. From your interview, I came to know that you had given a 1 hr concert when you were eleven. Excellent.

But as a voice specialist , i will request you to do some breathing exercises which will strengthen your breath control like say Pranayams , Sudarshan kriya etc because in this interview i heard some hiss breathing sounds in some places which can be improved upon. Then " kadhavai sathadi " in atana ragam in the film " rathakaneer. Then " varugiral unnai thedi " again in atana ragam in the film " thanga padumai. Again " andhi mayangudadi " in " kalyani " ragam in " pathiban kanavu " and also a dance number by Kamala Lakshman in ragamalika. She was so versatile she managed in all different forms of music. I wish you grand success in tamil film music. No matter about your age for age is a number. With your versatility in carnatic music I have no doubt whatsoever you will be a stunning success.
