    In the last one month of usage and multiple trips above 300 km one side , temperature above 36 deg , never faced any issue like this on DC fast charging. Also there has been no compatibility issue with any charging station so far. Its been absolutely great user experience till now . The suspension is pure magic. Excellent infotainment system in this price band. Even after 7+ hours of drive , feels as fresh as you start. Easy 9 on 10. My request is to comment on the car only after taking a drive.

    I saw many reviews on the eC3 for the Indian market, and they all say battery heat issue. Its interesting to see if this issue will arise when they finally sell these in Indonesia this year, because we literally only have the Wuling AirEV (MG comet in your market) and DFSK mini ev as the competitors. I lean more towards this eC3 as it was more of a "car" than those two. Hopefully they will resolve this issue or maybe our climate didnt make this problem arise for the car. Also, thankyou for the honest review.

    The passive cooled battery will not only face charging issues due to overheating, it also risks losing battery capacity faster. This is the lesson Nissan learnt with their Leaf.
    Citroen needs to reconsider their product strategy for India. Citroen is cutting corners in the name of frugal engineering, and then trying to sell the car at a premium price. The nearly 13Lac on-road price for an eC3 simply does not make sense.
    The tiago ev is much cheaper, is better equipped and has an actively liquid cooled battery. If you need more range than a tiago, either stretch your budget up to a Nexon ev max or wait some time for EV competition to heat up in India.

    • @thenoobgamersid4829
      @thenoobgamersid4829 Рік тому +2

      Please do a bit more research. Tiago and Tigor uses Lithium Ion and this car users LFP as like Nexon.
      And LFP does not required liquid cooling as they are more tolerant than Lithium Ion. Also Citroen says we can do 100% Fast Charging where as TATA says alternatively.
      Also this is the only car that gives better range upto 300 without AC and with AC 250 where as nexon EV Max struggle give 300 as per many owners report.
      So once save 7 to 9 lacs by opting this car instead of NEXON.
      I forgot to mention that TATA Owners group were flooding with High Critical Alerts from battery, poor range and poor service.
      Where as I never see any eC3 complaining about it, other than this video.

    • @dgupta42
      @dgupta42 Рік тому +4

      @@thenoobgamersid4829 Too many wrong information points.
      tiago, tigor, nexon - all of them use LFP, not NMC or NCA.
      Yes, LFP is more resilient to thermal issues, yet every major carmaker using LFP uses liquid cooling on the battery. Why? Because it sharply reduces battery degradation and risk of overheating problems, like ones faced by some eC3 owners. Improves charging speed, range,nd battery life. It was extremely shortsighted of Citroen to remove active liquid cooling. Typical European mindset thinking Indians will be happy with cheap products, not realising that a 12-13L car is an aspirational product in India. The Indian consumer demands modern design, features and wants to feel premium relative to the money paid. Citroen just does not understand the Indian car market, or it refuses to listen to their own India team.
      No, eC3 does not give you 300km range in ordinary real life usage. It's about 230km with AC, about 5-7% more without AC. As a general thumb rule, avoid believing any numbers higher than 7-7.5km per kwh of usable battery capacity. It needs hypermiling techniques like a consistent 40kmph speed or downhill slopes to exceed that range thumb rule on a consistent basis in EVs available in India.
      The eC3 cost nearly 13L on road at launch. The much better 30KWH nexon is about 15.5, and the 33% bigger 40KWH battery ev max is around 17.5. So, 2.5 to 4.5 L more, not 9 Lacs. And eC3 does not have the features or the performance, or seat width of a nexon.
      By the way, 9L more on top of an eC3 will be around 22L, that puts you within touching distance of a base model MG ZS EV!
      eC3 might have sold well as a cut-price affordable 230-240km range EV that it was designed to be. Citroen got greedy and overpriced it by 1.5Lacs. Stupid mistake, as Indian car buyers don't easily go back to a car model or brand once it becomes a sales dud.

    • @thenoobgamersid4829
      @thenoobgamersid4829 Рік тому +2

      @@dgupta42 Thankd for correcting me by pointing the battery type used in Tiago and Tigor. But the catalog of Tigor and Tiago still says it is Lithium Ion
      And regarding the real life usage on eC3, I tested myself and I got 240Km+ with AC and 5 health adults.
      So it will be easy to get 270+ with AC as there are many owners claiming the same and also there are UA-cam videos claiming the same.
      Why are you simply ignoring the issues of other TATA vehicle, just suggesting TATA vehicle only for their liquid cooling
      1) battery issues exist in most vehicle
      2) poor range
      3) poor service network
      Just join some Tiago, Tigor, Nexon owner group, you will know the pain of the owners.
      Do note that even though Citroen overprice the car but they have provided the reliable car until somebody proves they made wrong decision by opting aircool. As of now all those are speculations or assumptions as many owners are able to do fast charge without any limits. Do note that many people are making mistake by opening the door and thinking the vehicle does not charge.
      Time will prove.

      Hi jitendra! I don’t know if you are an ec3 owner, a general audience, or a part of citroen team but even we faced a similar problem with my friend’s eC3 here in bangalore when we were going to pondicherry on a trip. When we were dc charging, the car suddenly stopped charging and giving battery heating symbol on the MID. We had to wait for almost an hour for it to cool and to charge another 20%. LFP battery tolerance is about 55 centigrade. Dc fast charging a stationary not cooled battery under indian hot weather will easily go past LFP tolerance. Even Tiago and Nexon use Lithium Phosphate battery but they use liquid cooling. Also, tiago is a cheaper and smaller car. The only other car which doesn’t use liquid cooling in India right now is MG Comet. But that car doesn’t have dc fast charging capability, a normal ac charging will not lead to any heating problem while charging. If citroen was ready to give a 100% fast charging, they should have taken care of cooling.

      TATA vehicles are not more reliable 😂. They provide worse battery and motor unlike citroen who provide BLADE BATTERY TECHNOLOGY ,provided by SVOLT, which is the latest in the global market and even tesla and other big ev manufacturers are starting to move to it with BYD currently the lead maker. The owner may have faced many issues mainly due to the lack of service centres and employees who are expertised in the car however I will guarentee that you will not face any issues as the car ages and sufficent information is tranfered to the company. Citroen also provides prismatic cells allowing the car to fast charge many times unlike the products introduced by TATA AND MAHINDRA. The only manufacturers currently doing at sub 50 lakh prive tag is MG and BYD. Also I wonder why such a channel with the name "ElectricVehiclesIndia" does not take any initiative as to provide the viewer with information about the battery and motor provided by the manufacturer.

Tigor in my personal opinion should have been priced better. Citroen will have to sort this problem somehow and if that is SW, it might decrease the charging speed like you mentioned. Citroen has an mini suv lind of proportions, it has a single battery without compromising on spare wheel, it is better at driving dynamics, handling and it’s suspension is leaps better than it’s competition. Surprisingly, it’s touchscreen and speakers are way good too. Overall, the positives exceed negatives unless you include fast charging. I would compromise on fast charging because I use it very occasionally, provided I get all these features. Hi Praful! This is Kiran, the owner of the car in this video. There are a lot of videos and reviews already stating both positives and negatives of the car. The main purpose of this video is to share a particular problem related to battery heating while dc fast charging in hot weather. Overall, the car is good mechanically. They have done the basics right and it also has some good features like a infotainment system and best in class suspension. I hope that the citroen team will try and resolve this issue if they can. For a normal city ev and occasional long trips, it is still a good buy as of right now. My rating as I said in the video will be 7.5

      Hi Kiran, very honest review. I owned ec3 last week. Started by 8.30 am from Chennai and reach by 6 at Madurai. Me too faced battery heating issue. But went off in few mins after I turn off the car for 20 mins. And do you use my Citreon connect app ? Does it working ? I’m not able to connec it. Even dealer is not helping regarding the issue. Pls let me know how to connect. Thanks

      @@nirmalanderson Hi! The myCitroenconnect app will be activated by the dealer. They asked me a passport size photo and aadhar details for activation. After activation from their side, we should add car using VIN number.

      @@nirmalanderson have you considered TATA Tigor before buying this? I am planning to buy one so confused about which one I should go with TATA Tigor or Tiago or EC3
      I am also from Tirunelveli and used to travel from Chennai to Tirunelveli occasionally. I used to take 7 to 8 hours to reach my Hyundai Venue. Seeing the time you took to reach Madurai, I think, it will take me a whole day to get Chennai to Tirunelveli in EC3.
      But I do see people doing 230KM+ in EC3

    Final verdict : Just avoid citroen. Dont waste money. Tata is much better in terms of battery, parts, charging etc. also when you go for spare parts you will suffer with Citroen
