- Pokémon GO has been around for a very long time, and many veteran players may no longer find motivation to continue playing this game. However, the game is incredibly complex under the surface of a simple and casual game. In this video, I will be going over five different ways you can still have fun with this game even after the general gameplay loop loses its luster!

Pokémon Go is a 2016 augmented reality (AR) mobile game developed and published by Niantic in collaboration with The Pokémon Company for iOS and Android devices. A part of the Pokémon franchise, the game is the result of a collaboration between Niantic, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. It uses the mobile device GPS to locate, capture, battle, and train virtual creatures, called Pokémon, which appear as if they are in the player's real-world location. The game launched with around 150 species of Pokémon, which had increased to around 500 by 2019.
Pokémon Go was released to mixed reviews; critics praised the concept, but criticized technical problems. It was one of the most used and profitable mobile apps in 2016, having been downloaded more than 500 million times worldwide by the end of the year. It is credited with popularizing location-based and AR technology, promoting physical activity, and helping local businesses grow due to increased foot traffic. However, it attracted controversy for contributing to accidents and creating public nuisances. Various governments expressed concerns about security, and some countries regulate its use. By early 2019, the game had over a billion global downloads, grossing over $3 billion in revenue. The game also had over 147 million monthly active users as of May 2018.
Started in 2016, cancer made me quit & also made me return, the walking helping me as physical therapy to regain strength came back LVL 36, now almost LVL 43. I love party play & enjoy being closer with my adult son, doing challenges & raids

Niantic is very negative towards us. So don’t worry about appearing negative. Tell us the truth. We don’t want positive or negative. We want content that is honest. If Niantic doesn’t want Pokemon to be boring they can begin listening to our feedback.
But there’s many who don’t feel that way. So that’s your opinion. Many of us are pvp players and love the game.

@@Miklo_1 we all raid… of course there’s more people who raid that’s how you acquire legends… but to say the game is bad and is in a decline is subjective to everyone.
Niantic still has NOT fixed the rural area problem

@Jeremy. I used to live in a city with 2 million people, now that I’m in a town with 12K people. Game does suck compared to the big city.

Love being high level and having everything if needed. I can destroy any gym, help out with any raid, battle against anyone with top meta.glad the game is stale so I can take a break and not have fomo .pokemon is life and will always be with me

I like Having a buddy, I hope they do MORE stuff with it.
It would be neat if they would add a mechanic where you could improve the iv's of your buddy even if it took a while. I have some shiny legendaries that are in the 80's that would be awesome if they were higher
@@JZrez For sure, i have full hearts on my buddy EVERYDAY, but like you said instead of useless gifts, they should get buffs in their IV stats.
Add more buddy hearts and/ or new missions.

I play Pokémon Go at this point because I've played it every day for the last 8 years and it's honestly something to do with my hands. 😂

I’m in a very fortunate situation where I just showed back up for the first time since 2018. Walked 70km each of the last two weeks just having the time of my life.
Fr bro I been walking 70-90km every single week for the last 3-4 months since I came back to the game
yah this channel totally downplays the key point of the game which is going outside, always pushing for couch gaming remote raids to min/max, no wonder he has no fun, he is pushing the wrong wall with Niantic

Yeah i think people need that 6 years off to see if they will enjoy the game again. The game is not the same though. You will reach boredom a lot faster this time.
I agree. Getting to level 50 is my main current goal. It is a huge part of my motivation when the game isn’t popping as much.
Pretty impossible for rural players still, looks like it will never change.

But you can't becuase Niantic has cornered the market on these kinds of games, so it's beholden to them to fix their sht so they don't exclude the people who grow the food for city people.

Much simpler to just focus on why you can't get outside and walk without sticking a phone in your face. Stop wasting your time on fantasies and focus on ... self improvement. Delete the distractions
I'm trying to see how far I can make it in one full year, -Level, XP, Pokemon caught, pokedex fulfillment, kms, stops and platinum medals. Physically, too. I'm chronically ill(very possibly ME/CFS). When I started I could rarely and barely leave the house... luckily I had a couple Poke stops close enough to spin from home that kept me motivated...later I made it out for short small walks, I could get to a couple gyms... from there I started staying out for hours, eventually able to walk my neighborhood... Today, I went out on two routes, 3 raids, a daily incense, and I forgot my cane at home even!
July 17th will be my 365th day on the app. I am hoping to get to level 43, (or miraculously close to 44 even)?.. I really want to get all my platinum catch medals- Rail Staff & Dragon Tamer are the ones that will probably need more time, but there's a good chance I can make it to 2500 for Rock and Dark types by then. I need a Moltres to complete Kanto region and hoping to make it to & surpass 50,000 Pokemon caught. Almost a month away.... we'll see. Hoping to not have any relapses to bed bound/house bound status between now and then. aaand, yes...
I AM FRIGGING BRAGGING HERE. Yes, yes I am... but I found something that has given me back so much normal functioning, so much of a slice of what used to be my normal life when many other methods have failed miserably and made things 10 times worse. If I live well enough to look back on this moment of un-humble brag and cringe, well, that's probably what my real goal should be. Wish me luck for July 17th and send condolences to my future self.
Needing 150,000,000 experience to reach level 50. 🤔😆 even with excellent throws. With every pokemon I catch. That's 150,000 pokemon. 😆 400 to 500 pokemon a day. 3 to 4 hours a day. It would take me 300 days to reach level 50. That's hardcore grinding. Is it worth it? 😉 😆
I play on 5 accounts, my son and wife and others lost interest so i play on there accounts! I never get bored trying to get shinies and leveling up! 2 level 50 and others level 45 and up!

Can’t be done for EVERY Pokemon though, so what’s the point? The mythicals that can’t be traded will never be able to go lucky
@@vermontvoice13 The point is the fun in hanging out with friends, chatting and flipping. And who knows if sometime in the future we’ll be able to trade mythicals?
I don’t think you are negative! I startes playing in march so i’m new, i most likely feel like you if i were in your position you literally have everything to catch and achieve so it’s normal to feel the game stalled

I have over 50 100% IV pokemon...but not a single shiny 100%...playing everyday since July 2016
It's hard not to be negative when it comes to Go these days, most of us just keep grinding away hoping it will get better. Me personally, I'm grinding to finish up some masterwork research task and trying to walk and max out all my high iv legendaries.
Who here remembers those good ol days when completing your 7 day research streak would land you legendary instead of this regular crap pokemon. I think last week it was a Froufrou? Nobody wants a froufrou Niantic....
I'm taking a break (for now).
I'll still sub/watch your channel, but the game has become a routine vs a game. lol, i need to min/max my real life.

As a rural player, having a spreadsheet of every possible reward / to-do list item keeps the game alive for me. Knowing secret ways to maximize the game also helps, some of which I won't mention because I don't want them to get patched. And no, not spoofing.
Sometimes if I'm walking a 3 stage evolution Pokemon as like a shiny for instance as a buddy I evolve it at 2 and 3 buddy hearts, it keeps it fresh for me. Like the pokemon is growing as its closer to best buddy
I wish niantic would add some kind of trophy display feature or mechanic to show off shinies and other “trophy” pokemon (not only my buddy at the moment), what are some other mechanics pogo should add? Easier ways to trade across the platform or something?? Any new ideas?
I agree that buddy adventure is one of my biggest goals rn as I’m at about 30 best buddies but the thing I’m REALLY focused on is showcases!
Making our own fun is great. A dream I always had since pvp came out was to get a community together and set up our own gyms and elite four around the city/county. I think it'd be fun to make our own little gym badges as pins. Never was able to get a good enough community though. Rural area will be a rural area, people play and stop all the time around here.
The game has LOTS of features that can save the game its just Niantic is too greedy with their revenues instead of making QOL that'll severely improve the game.
Honestly their just better games, I just don’t even use my free raid passes because I’m just so busy doing other things , family , work, and business
Ehh pokemon go been ass for awhile now. I just play other games like warzone elden rings Diablo 4 mortal Kombat 1 online assassin Creed Valhalla and ghost of tsunami
my daughter and I've been playing pokemon go since 2019 and we used to do all of the events that pokemon go had, b not so much any more we pick and choose to do only certian events, we just don't have as much fun doing the events anymore
Buddy mechanics are the most tedious thing in the game. I'm still on my way to 7th buddy for jirachi masterwork, and I can't stand the grind
I enjoy your channel thank you for speaking the truth I love Pokémon go but been losing my passion for it I still play just a little once a day keep doing these videos they are informative to me , your not being negative or to negative if anything helpful and just entertaining
What really gets me is that if you dont spend money on the game you have to quintuple the grind. And its absolutely ridiculous.

when i'm bored with the game i search for new POI's to submit as pokestops and gyms, more of them makes the game better
I just sunk about 20 hours over the last 5ish days getting Visor Slakoth Shiny. No regrets.

Most of those things don’t have any rewards for doing them gym badges getting gyms to gold
All I care with Pokémon go is beating the team go rockets leaders to get my first legendary shadow. Also getting a regigigas and a drakria to honor my favorite Pokémon villain!!!

As a rural player, the game is always boring unless there is a good event/season running (as an example, the previous season with 3 free raids per day was the most fun I had in months because I could host and looked forward to that) and the field researches are very lacking for older players.
It was 2 free daily raids. Never once have they given 3 free per day with exception to raid days with 5 free passes

GO outside hopefully get some new pokemon, which is the point of the game where they should invest allot more, my storage is constantly full is a painful experience to delete good pokemon just so i can GO! catch them

I have to disagree about Buddy Adventure. I appreciate getting the extra candy and mega energy and the catch assist, but I find the rest of the buddy aspect of the game extremely boring and more of a chore than anything. And I don't like the ribbons. They look like pimples or something out of place.
I did Buddy Adventure long enough to get the platinum badge and haven't done one since. Almost the same for Go Battle League. I only play GBL when there's an event that requires it. I genuinely enjoy Pokemon Go much better as a casual side gig and not a full time gig. At this point, the only content that really moves me in Pokemon Go is Team Go Rocket events or Special Research Days. It's rare that I play Community Days or Raid Days. Also I always play GoFest.

Pokemon go is about walking around outside community raids AND pvp if u don't like pvp its your fault your only playing some of the game...n yes count your the most negative pogo influencer there is... atleast u finally made a somewhat positive video even tho last like 20 videos i had too give u thumbs down n refused too give u a full view or share your vid not gonna share negative vids when im trying too get more people i know too play
It about spoofing to change your location need lots of travel money to play legit because in person events overseas cannot remote raid the events even if buy ticket as well since remote limit and those events shiny locked without ticket so not for legit people walking and since they made all the avatars now land whale fat sized they not cater to real people walking out since they would not be fat if true
