@@machieu that would be true for older Android phones as well. In fact, you can make the argument that the latest versions of Android OS can only work on a very small percentage of Android phone due to the wide variety of specs and features for all their devices. And many, many Android phones are hobbled by carrier bloatware so even if they can get the latest updates, it might take a while before it becomes available since any updates have to be reviewed by the carriers to make sure it doesn’t interfere with their pre-installed software. As far as the iPhone 6S is concerned, it really is asking a lot for a 9 year old phone to handle a much more advanced version of today’s iOS. The 6S doesn’t have the require processing power and RAM to make it function properly. I’m not a fan of the iPhone’s closed system, but it does a great job of managing apps. When I gave my mom an Android phone, it quickly filled up with notifications, ads, and spam because it's more open and apps can easily add these things. iPhones stay clean and uncluttered since they restrict what apps can do. I think iPhones are great for people who don’t know much about using phones. As an experienced Android user, I can manage my apps and keep my phone even cleaner than iOS.
I gave my Mum my note 10+ when I upgraded as hers carked it. I turned all the notifications off except the necessary Samsung and Android updates and removed various apps she'd never use and she has no issues. She's 82 and not technologically minded (though knows to delete dodgy texts). She recently got a new car so I set it up so she can answer calls whilst driving which she thinks is the bees knees. Androids can be made simple if need be. It's versatility is what makes it superior in my view.

There is a lot I don't like about apple and iOS, but here is one thing I strongly prefer about it: native code support. Once Apple finally gave in and released a SDK, it has been ObjectiveC and then Swift, both of which compile and run native CPU instructions. While Android has been hampered by being Java and running under a VM. They have a native SDK but it is clearly second-class. When I wrote a native Android application, I still had to include Java and have Java interop.
Id like to know more about this. I gave a similar comment which I think iOS is objectively better and it was app deployment. Most of the reasons in the video are purely subjective I read somewhere that multiplatform frameworks like flutter compile to native code even on android. I'm not a dev so I don't know much about it. And how do you think that this could be fixed in android
As someone with more than an ounce of computer literacy, I never feel the need to pay four times the value for eight times the restrictions and half the functionality all in the name of ease of use.
Yesterday I realized that there are A LOT of people who don't realize that even many apps on iOS function and even LOOK better than their Android version. I know that because I have both an iPhone and Google Pixel 8 Pro with some of the same apps. Yesterday when I tried the Android version of the app called Photoleap, I realized there were a few IMPORTANT features missing lol! Like being able to save my projects in the app's save folder and the add text feature are missing from the android version. I was like WHAT? Some things are organized differently in the same app but different OS of the 2. So maybe those options are in different areas or something. I do like iPhone slightly better than Android now that I have experienced both.
Being a later OS is a feature for sure. Android phones basically are stuck with the version they ship with, maybe you get an update (with problems). On the other hand older versions of Android tend to still support current apps.
What makes you believe that about Android not being able to update OS? It's not true. I've had various Notes over the years all capable of receiving OS updates with never an issue.
Hear, hear! I have tried to be an Android developer and it is a hell because so many users are stuck at some ancient API version. And the API version are so many ... when I quit we were at version 35 or something.
I use android and Linux for handheld gaming devices. Like the powerful AYN odin 2 or steam deck. Although emulation on IOS is getting better and triple A games are now getting ported. I like them all.
Im switching to iphone since i got a macbook pro recently. Android may be able communicate to both my mac and pc, but apple for content sharing across *their" devices is just great.
SteamOS is Linux. Android is Linux. They're literally the same operating system, just different distros. OK, Android is cut back a bit to fit on smaller hardware, but it's still Linux :P
Hey man , I remembered when Android first came out, it was a pain . Windows phone started the tiles and that concept was better. Easier to use and faster but their greediness killed that line and those Nokia phones were awesome.i miss those phones. I still have the latest model.
Android back was fun. I still remember when they weren't flat design (like now). My most favourite ones were Jelly Bean and Honeycomb, and also the older ones. Now Android has much features but bad design.
I think the reason why many "images of nice home offices" have Apple devices is more because of the brand's fame, reputation for being expensive... so many are attracted by the feeling of success and luxury associated with that brand. So even if they make objectively worst products, there are going to be many who will remain loyal to that brand either just for that fame or for the superficiality of being able to say that they can spend money on that.
I once drove across the country with a Windows Phone with the live tiles. I dunno why but the phone wouldn't charge and stay on simultaneously so I got lost and arrested.
Rejecting phone calls, shutting down the phone and turning mute off (I kept missing calls from work and from my doctor) are all things I had to google.
Itsbfunny because the apple employees dont either. I went to thr apple store to buy something and when i asked why i should get theirs over a competitors they just had no idea what the competition was offering. In their minds, it's only their product. Kinda freaky @Hash-6624
Here are my counter-arguments against each category: Beauty: Make your Android beautiful yourself. Download a custom launcher. Download an icon pack. Install a custom ROM. If you mean physical beauty, whoops. It just works: Androids also just work. But, if you're advanced, then play around in ADB. About the green bubble part, there's nothing wrong with it. Sure, it *used* to mean you were using SMS/MMS, but iOS 18 added support for RCS, which is the same as if not better that iMessage. The ecosystem: Get a Samsung, Huawei or Xiaomi.
It's versatility is what makes it superior in my view.
tldr: apple is for dumb people
Apple is also great for people that know enough about tech but just don’t wanna bother and waste their time. Apple has made me more productive than ever. It’s simple and easy, as every tool should be. I work in the legal field and don’t require freedom in software. I need efficiency.
@@GamingPIPI The same as android. If you use a Samsung or a pixel. It also has these same benefits
These ads, excess notifications are all from cheap sub $250 android brands from china
@@ifrankenstein7455 Android is not simple and easy. Especially not if you value working across your multiple devices. Ecosystem is Apple’s best feature and it has changed my productivity alot. @@rebelcrusader9973 I have gazillion of reasons not to own an android..
Most of the reasons in the video are purely subjective
I read somewhere that multiplatform frameworks like flutter compile to native code even on android. I'm not a dev so I don't know much about it. And how do you think that this could be fixed in android
What ever your issues are they have nothing to do with native code versus virtual machine.
Honestly your videos make my day. Thank you Sam.

@@tkps Samsung might be different, but other brands (LG, Motorola) tend to have at most one OS upgrade.
Hear, hear! I have tried to be an Android developer and it is a hell because so many users are stuck at some ancient API version. And the API version are so many ... when I quit we were at version 35 or something.

They're less phones and more miniature computers now, to be fair.

Here are my counter-arguments against each category:
Beauty: Make your Android beautiful yourself.
That's all I have to say here.

Apple: 49.99%
Droid: 49.99%
