Absolutely!! We love cheese and it was a great place to be for cheese lovers!

Nice video, thanks! The right stress is Sòfia and bànitsa ;-)
Thank you! 🇧🇬😁
Always a pleasure to see foreigners genuinely enjoying Bulgaria. Sofia was not really a place for tourists 20 years ago but it's changed a lot now and it's great the world gets to experience it and share on UA-cam, thank you for the great tour! Bulgaria loves you.

OMG! Just came up on our recommended. We went to that exact same Mekitsa shop, it’s mouthwatering! We loved it so much. Great video guys 🤩

You can tell on your happiness that you really enjoyed Sofia 🐱
We loved it! Such a unique city and amazing food!
Pity she cant bite into it without blasphemeing
Love bulgarian food ❤🇧🇬
Us too! 😋
Rakia is a traditional Bulgarian drink which is often distilled at home - it is basically a fruit brandy. It is typically made from any fruit, the most popular is grape, but also plum, quince are popular.
Ahh, okay! That is definitely what we had then! I think we had the grape. It was a nice brandy, just not what I was expecting, caught me by surprise 😂
Not only Bulgaria, the whole Balkans is home of rakija. It is used as medicine, as disinfection, to dring either you are happy or sad. Rakija correcting people :)
@@MaxandSidney rakia is "apéritif" type of drink. Traditionally you drink it as a starter with a salad or turshiya in the winter (pickled vegetables). You sip it, don't drink it as a shot :)
Most of our food are full of cheese/garlic/milk/kiselo mliako "yoghurt"/ not only for taste for health too. Because of deep history and tradition preserved from farms and small villages with less food to can make good healthy product like tarator "yoghurt" cucumber water and salt some people put grated walnut. Kiselo mliako "yoghurt" is in every house for us is like medicine from nature we mix is with water and salt = airan in hot summer is best or when you drink too much alcohol this can revive you :) when we get sun burn or any other burn we apply ourselves with kiselo mliako like medicine cream.
Wow, that’s so fascinating! We never would’ve known that, thanks so much for sharing! We really loved the food, and Bulgaria in general!
You gays are so nice AND smart! You cought the atmosphere of my lovely home city.
Thank you so much! We loved Sofia, we are so excited to hear we represented it well! So much great food!
That was SO much fun to watch!! Three Brothers will be so happy you mentioned them. I would love to visit this place sometime. It looks so inviting. Thanks for the video!
Can’t recommend Sofia enough! Beautiful surroundings, vibrant nightlife, and DELICIOUS food! 😁
In Croatia we eat burek, it is very similar to banitsa , or the same food I would say
We enjoyed burek while we were in Croatia! It’s so buttery and flaky, such a treat! 😋
Burek is definitely different, in fact burek exists in Bulgaria too.
Somebody’s hooked on banitsa. Uh-oh🤣
Definitely! It’s so good!! 😅
@@MaxandSidney I found your visit and video very amusing, real and genuine. Thank you for appreciating our food and culture and sharing it with the world.
Lovely food tour 😋

You guys are so cute! Thank you for the info. I hope to submerge ourselves to find all those delicious foods in Sofia soon...
Thanks for watching! Sofia was a fantastic city to visit, we loved the food and the amazing architecture! Can’t recommend it enough 😊
Next time try “banitsa s kolbas”, it means banitsa with sausage! Try “mit s krenvirsh” as well✌️
Banitsa with sausage?? That sounds delicious!! Thanks for the tip, we will definitely order it next time 👍
You should chase the Banitsa with Airiyan or Boza, that is the best combo
Oh wow, that sounds amazing!
Love from lahore pakistan 😘 beautiful vdo
Thanks so much for watching the video! 👍🇵🇰
@@MaxandSidney please come pakistan Lahore 💕💋 too
Have you ever tried any Bulgarian food? If so, what are some of your favorite dishes?
Guys have rakia with the salad :)) goes way better
i hope you tried greek tiropita or other kind of pies in Athens!Ours is excellent as well! Its so similar in the Balcans!
We had tiropita one morning, so delicious!! Everything we had in Athens was delicious 😋
@@MaxandSidney i didnt see it in the video ok :D Glad you loved my city :) i love your videos!!!
next time start with 100g rakia and salad, then the main dish
It is Sofiiska banitza
And it is Ivan Vazov
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
OMG, Where did you fit all that food? :D
Extremely full at the end of the day 😆
Moma means maiden
You drink the rakija before everything else. And you do it with a salad or some sort of appdtizer, not the booze on itself. That was was a majer mistake.
Oh no!! Good to know for next time 😆
Fun fact. The book with the 'iPod' word you found inside is written in Russian.
Wow, really? We definitely would not have known that. Our knowledge of Cyrillic is very limited as you can probably tell 😂
it is not actually yogurt it is sour fermented milk :D
Really? That explains the strong flavor! It was very good!
@@MaxandSidney Yep we even gave the Japanese the technology to make it
You take normal cows milk or even better goat or sheep and then add a special bacteria which makes it ferment and be sour :D ultra good thing is this
Did I see a KFC sign?
You sure did! Believe it or not, KFC is quite popular in eastern Europe! Who would’ve thought!
Lozovi sarmichki ! Yes! Yes! Yes!
👍🇧🇬😋
min. 5. 33 / that book is in RuSSian language / not in Bulgarian
bànitza, stress on the first a,not on the i
Lukachenko Nation. I love it! 👍🏿
👍👍👍
U got it all wrong buddy. That one is Belarus , nothing in common with Bulgaria.
Истинската Българска баница се прави с масло и сирене, а в баничарниците са с олио и извара за съжаление. 😡😡😡😡
Awful sound track
Oh My God calling a mekitsa a donut is outrageous, No it is so american
Haha, oh no! 😆👍
@@MaxandSidney 😂😂😂😂😂😂
And again it is not feta, it is Bulgarian brined White cheese. Calling it feta is an insult to bulgarian. It is like saying conichiua to korean
Aha, oh no! Good to know 😆
@@MaxandSidney Yes it’s called Sirene. (see-re-neh)
Calm down patroit for unfamiliar people with our see-re-neh feta is the closest thing to describe it, and everyone knows feta
🤣🤪
Fun fact : not so long ago a big chunk of our white cheese production was exported to Greece and repacked/rebranded as their own. Which then they successfully exported.
