If you ask me, Eggmanland sums up the entirety Sonic Unleashed in a nutshell. It feels so epic at times, like finally Sonic Team finally nailed it, yet at the same time it feels so muddy. It throws you up and down an endless loop of fun and fury. It's the definition of a bipolar game.
Eggmanland is a Crowning Moment of Awesome for Dr. Robotnik. His genius is finally realized and it shows he means business. The equivalent of Bowser's Great Moment in Super Mario Galaxy.
At 4:55 there's a shortcut wall-jump to the right, allowing you to turn into the Werehog in a room with a door leading directly to the the room at 5:51, avoiding the bottomless pit area. And another shortcut at 7:47. Turn back towards the back left corner of the platform with the checkpoint, run towards the edge and do a sprint jump off, doing a Y screw attack in the air in that direction, then double jump, and you'll land on the platform at 8:22. At least they're much safer paths lol.
All aboard for the midtown express...to hell. It's hard but the fact of it being long and using both the Hedgehog and Werehog and with awesome graphics and music makes this level totally EPIC! Man, first time I did this I was like: Oh my goodness...HE REALLY MADE IT!
@Nacho773 Age ratings are based on how appropriate the content is for viewing not in terms of difficulty since everyone has their own skill levels in genres
Nevermind what I said in the 1st part of the vid. This version of Eggmanland is longer and harder than the Wii Version. The Wii version just gave you 1 hard running part and the other 5 acts werehog stages. This 360version just puts things both running and werehog together making it more challenging.
Well, I feel better about this level since you're still getting an S rank even with the mistakes you made. I'm glad I don't have to be a god at this game to get an S rank on Eggmanland(still gonna be hard though).
Because i'm sad I have this game for PS3 and 360, I remember getting the hot-dog missions for this stage on the 360 and it drove me mad. I fell like 5 times at 08:07 - 08:13 and it was so anoying because I was so close to the end of the level, finally finished it on the 360 then went over to do it on the PS3 and managed to do the level 3 times in a row without dying.
@MrTopazine It didn't really get bad reviews...It got decent ones...but they all said they didn't like the night levels...they said they felt out of place...
Things just don't go your way. If you fail a QTE on a critical attack as the Werehog, the enemy you're doing a Critical Attack on counters and regains some health. If you fail a QTE on a ramp as the Hedgehog, usually it means you take the lower path and not the higher one. However, if there is no lower path to go to... then you die.
I don't got a 360 so i only have this game on the wii:( Oh well it is still fun. The one problem about looking at this stage is there is a lot of slowdown during the day time parts of this stage where sonic is running fast.
0:28-0:43 I know the button combination to do that combo, but how, may I ask, were you able to repeat the combo the way you did in that part of the video?
@Nacho773 ESRB ratings aren't much nowadays. Heck I'm 17 and I still play Kirby. I much rather play adventure/action games than First-Person-Shooters, they never changed the concept on that. You could still be 40 and play Sonic, age doesn't matter. But I do see your point, it's going to be hard for anyone under 10 (Older or Younger.) to beat Eggmanland.
or, he could buy enough nuclear weapons to hold the entire world hostage, or he could just get a laser like he had in sonic adventure 2 that could break the earth apart (and actually destroy it, not summon some stupid monster)
i really dont like the fact that this eggmanland stage switches from the speed stage to the werehog stage frequently the whole course shouldve been a speed stage
I got like two or three gameovers at 3:10 D: Literally, I was walking away from my PS3 with anger and shaking while I was doing that. After my third time I finally beat it but DAYANG PFFFTFFF
@Nacho773 At this point in the game, dont u think a 10 year old would know how to play well? i mean this is just a bunch of random robots. This IS the end of the game after all. There were many hard parts before this.
sega was trying to appeal to it's goth fans by making one level so impossible...it's mortifying...that's why sonic can go from werehog to hedgehog during the lvl
i remember when i had this game i got to 6:22. i had no idea what the heck to do. for 3 days i struggled to figure out what to do to progress. in the end i said screw it and sold the game to gamestop...man do feel retarded. i need to get this game back. this was actually one of the best sonic games i played.
@1stkirbyever Generic comment is generic. Plus since when has Kirby, Mario, Zelda, (insert famous game series not shooter). Since when have they really changed, like at all?

@Nacho773 Yeah. As little sense as thinking the ESRB rating is directly related to difficulty. That was kind of the point of the comparison.
The first part of Eggmanland looks like it was based off of Aquatic Base
And Asteroid Coaster was based off of this level
If there is a hell for computer game levels, then this one is going to be sent there.
You mean Console game levels right?
@Nacho773 Age ratings are based on how appropriate the content is for viewing not in terms of difficulty since everyone has their own skill levels in genres
@SonicFan535
Touching the spring results in the spring using its animation and SFX, but it doesn't send the werehog flying.
no way, even an army of robots would say "screw this! this dudes lost his goddamn mind!"
02:54 is awesome.
"Feeling goo-AUGH"
@Nacho773 This level is "You got this far, you dared to play. Prove your worthy to finish this!!" ;)
3:43
Sonic: Hey buddy... Hows it goin ? Feelin' good ? How's the fa- WAPOW !
5:09 I remeber wall jumping up there is that faster? Cuz I got and S rank my 1st ever by wall jumping up there, some how.
Damn, so many close calls. Great recoveries.
this stage managed to be what i never though another stage would be: fucking harder than Metropolis.
*sees epic roller coaster* I know where I'M going for my next vacation!
Dark Gaia energy.
IQ of 300.
He's batshit crazy.

i wonder why he didn't wall jump before the werehog section?
Now this is what I call a final stage.
Well, I feel better about this level since you're still getting an S rank even with the mistakes you made. I'm glad I don't have to be a god at this game to get an S rank on Eggmanland(still gonna be hard though).
At 8:12 that was the closest part I got to without dying.
man, you should be crowned. i bet that only like... 5% of people who play SU managed to do this stage with no death.
All i gotta say for this level is... WOO
FEELIN GOOD!
mix an evil mad genius and a desire for a successful amusement park, and you get... this long piece of shit! A joyride OF DEATH!
Because i'm sad I have this game for PS3 and 360, I remember getting the hot-dog missions for this stage on the 360 and it drove me mad. "Woo! Feeling good! Woo! Feeling go-AUGH!!"
lol!

@ToonandAnime it would take even shorter if eggman didnt build a way for sonic to get through.
where does eggman get the money for this base??
or anything or that matter??
Werehog fights mental in Unleashed mode O_O
I don't got a 360 so i only have this game on the wii:( Oh well it is still fun. The one problem about looking at this stage is there is a lot of slowdown during the day time parts of this stage where sonic is running fast.
Can u just open the door as the werehog then change to normal an go?
0:28-0:43
I know the button combination to do that combo, but how, may I ask, were you able to repeat the combo the way you did in that part of the video?

Does the 360 version still have some drops in framerate?
Oh God, Eggman. You know something is wrong with you when you wanna kill a 15 year old boy =3= Err... Hedgehog
I tried to do an s rank on the final boss with no death and no damage.
Does the route on the right around 5:00 save any time?
0_0! Never EVER piss off a Werehog!!
at 03:15 why did you jump over the dash panel
the ring with the green star gives you full health NOT EXTRA RINGS
why don't you ever combo on the robots when they have arrws over their heads?!
died around 3:42 when homing attacking ennemies(air boosted off the ledge.)
0_0 tough stuff
@ToonandAnime while you're making your way through (pronounced: being annoyed as hell at) the other 6 worlds.
When I did 6:40 with tons of guys swarming me: OMGBADRENALINE RUSH(I hate the feel of adrenaline )
I completed it with rank B because of all the dying i caused xD
how times did you play this level to get the S ?
I have to ask did you have " OH SH*T" moments when doing this
or, he could buy enough nuclear weapons to hold the entire world hostage, or he could just get a laser like he had in sonic adventure 2 that could break the earth apart (and actually destroy it, not summon some stupid monster)
are you saying werehog is better in Wii version?
I wouldn't be comparing a level that runs at about a sixth of the time of the level you're comparing it to.
this level is on the wii version ?
Hard is an understatement.
8:26 The Princess' Secret Slide of Hell
dude you do know there was a shortcut if you stop at 4:54 and you don't have to change to night form.
i really dont like the fact that this eggmanland stage switches from the speed stage to the werehog stage frequently
the whole course shouldve been a speed stage
i had 13 lives and i lost on the fan thing with the fliyng guys
Thanks for pointing that out =)
ye its so long that i was tempted to swear numerous times due to accidental deaths.lol
This is a long stage. The Eggmanland level on the Wii and PS2 would take me 04"03"733.
AUIHAHIHUAIHAIHAIHAIHAIHAIHAIHAIHAIHAHAHIAUHAHUAHUIHAHUAIHA
ROFLMAO 0:15
the gay robot is so funny!!!
@Nacho773 ive had this game since i was 10 and two years now i still cant beat it
dam eggmanland....in both versions of game
Compensating for his robots which have come more and more useless in terms of being able to hit Sonic?
I agree. It took me 97 mins to complete it. I lost about 30 of my 70 lives.
At 6:21 I didn't know I had to destroy those flooting fuckers!
I got like two or three gameovers at 3:10 D: Literally, I was walking away from my PS3 with anger and shaking while I was doing that. After my third time I finally beat it but DAYANG PFFFTFFF
XD @ the Unleashed mode! ROLFMFAO!
mix a evil mad genius and a desire for a successful amusement park, and you get... this long piece of shit!
this level took 71 minutes of my life i felt like god when i did it
psh, yeah this level did drive me crazy...boondocks is a bad ass show by the way
@1stkirbyever At least SEGA thought ahead about this.
cool
Dude! You got tell me the combo for the move at 1:43!
@Nacho773 IF you think ESRB ratinngs are terrible... Take a look at PEGI
@Nacho773
At this point in the game, dont u think a 10 year old would know how to play well? i mean this is just a bunch of random robots. This IS the end of the game after all. There were many hard parts before this.
You cut off a bit, hmm? I WONDER WHAT HAPPENED IN BETWEEN...
I always thought Bowser was most badass in Paper Mario, but yeah he was sick in Galaxy
sega was trying to appeal to it's goth fans by making one level so impossible...it's mortifying...that's why sonic can go from werehog to hedgehog during the lvl
10 seconds flat, you mean.
you have crazy ass reaction time
man i need a 360
@1stkirbyever Same. Heck, I'm older than you and I still like action/adventure games. First person shooters are little over rated for me.
never fucking ending!
i remember when i had this game i got to 6:22. i had no idea what the heck to do. for 3 days i struggled to figure out what to do to progress. in the end i said screw it and sold the game to gamestop...man do feel retarded. i need to get this game back. this was actually one of the best sonic games i played.
i know I was just going to get really mad if the answer was yes
and also Werehog rulez! thank you SEGA!!! :D
Wow this is a long level.
@1stkirbyever Generic comment is generic. Plus since when has Kirby, Mario, Zelda, (insert famous game series not shooter). Since when have they really changed, like at all?
Man this Guy Really No's How 2 Use the Werehog lol
Damn this looks like a long ass levelXD
Not enough 'proper' 3D Sonic bits in this level. Though to did skipped alot of it at the beginning.
@1stkirbyever when i compleated it i got a c rank
EPIC AGREE
@TheMagmaguard me too
Beat it when I was 6. With an A rank.
I thought the wii version was a pain in the a** but is nothing compared to this...
the sonic 06 music from Crisis city would have been better from eggmanland.
0:16 waths with the gay dancing robot XD
