    Something I really like about EV conversions is seeing the vehicles as OEM as possible. I don't know if the display can be personalized to make it as similar as possible to the original one. Love your videos!

    Love the take on F&F for the title. This is an interesting and informative look into the 300ZX conversion, even for the abbreviated run-time. Looking forward to the next installment.

    Fun stuff! I am a little jealous that you get to make it go. I can't wait to see how it comes out! Have you seen how compact the Lucid drive unit is? That would make an interesting build too. Thanks for sharing!

      Someone needs to make an aftermarket controller for the lucid so we can play with it

    Will you be adding a firemens disconnect in case of car accident or fire and that can be easily accessible from the outside to disconnect batteries? Or any other safety measures?

    • @electricsupercar
      @electricsupercar  7 місяців тому

      I'm not sure about a "fireman's disconnect" as it is not a standard car. No fireman would know what to do or where to look. We will have disconnects or service switches with labels.

    Would it be possible to do NACS on one of your conversions? And even if you could, would Tesla even let you use their charging points?

    • @electricsupercar
      @electricsupercar  7 місяців тому

      There are not many aftermarket NACS options as far as the charging port. I could make a custom one, but currently it could not work with the Tesla superchargers.

    If you are already converting older vehicles to electric, there must be a possibility to keep the look and function of the console indicators? Personally, I am disgusted by screens in cars and would rather rip them out of the vehicle! I understand that they are necessary to check the condition of the vehicle, but I don't need it in front of me when I drive.

    If my memory isnt off the brake pedal for the 350z is about the same as the 300zx. I use a gen1 Ibooster in my 350z and have a step file for a adapter plate to use the stock pedal with it. If its something ypu would be interested in (free ofcourse) :)

      They have the ability to do just that! I looked into using their ECU for my future Escape performance hybrid build, and they did have what was needed - but too costly and I would have to secure the ICE tune to load into their software for control. It just wasn’t where I was hoping it would be.

    • @electricsupercar

    I have a little curious question. Why have none of your cars till now have some sort of Fast Charging. Not like 200-300kw but something mild like 50kw. The batteries themselves should be plenty capable of handling that stress. Is there no suitable DIY charging solution for Selfmade EV's out there? Keep up the good work :)

    • @electricsupercar
      @electricsupercar  7 місяців тому +2

      It is up to the customer. I am doing it on the Porsche. It is added cost and only really a benefit if you plan on road tripping.

    • @hvu6037
      @hvu6037 7 місяців тому

      I don't know if this is the right answer but it may have to do with the"handshake" protocols between the car and the fast charger. The fast charger must be able to recognize the car that's about to receive the charge, so if the cars battery management system software is not approved by a car manufacturer like Tesla or Ford, the fast charger won't recognize the car and initiate fast charging. It's probably to protect the hardware of the charging unit.

    I always wanted a 3000gt vr4, had no idea those suckers cost more than a corvette in their day&weighed 3,700-4,1000# 😀
    Better to just buy a new 2024 tesla m3p for 55k I think. Cheapest way to a 10s 4dr American made daily driver. 👍🏻
    I keep waiting on someone to freaking do a tesla plaid rear du ev swapped elktromod setup with real working torque vectoring!
    650-700hp weighs about the same as an old single large du and has those sweet c.f. wrapped dual plaid motors with torque vectoring. 😎

    I have a 90 300zx. Same car. Same color and interior. I swapped a stick and TT into it. Had it for 31 years. I also have AFX slot cars. I have played with them since 1972. I still to this day have my favorite slot car since 1972. I put it on my track and it goes. Just like the first day I had it. I wish I could say the same for my Z. Yes it is a labor of love, but it is still labor.
    One day I plan on converting my Z32(model # of the 300zx) to electric. I have been a fan since 1972 and can't understand why it took this long to become mainstream. I can't believe it is the same car as mine. I will hope for the best once it is completed. Thank you for doing it and thanks You Tube for having everything that my brain wishes it could see on video.
    Here is mine.
