Fuheng and Yingluo would have been fantastic together! Her fire to his ice! They were both much better suited- Fuheng wouldn’t have taken any concubines after marrying Yingluo! I’m sad they never got to be together. 😢

Her family wasn’t aristocrats or even middle class folks in fact they were poor, who knows what kind of life she would’ve lived outside the palace walls, remember there was no way Fuheng could’ve disobeyed the Emperor’s orders not to marry her so she probably would’ve ended up with someone that she didn’t love .

If only it is possible to have a friend as loyal as Yinglou! Have witnessed too many loyalties broken easily when in conflict with self-interest that I do not believe in it anymore. I could say though that I am like Yinglou not because I am an exemption but because of how my character was built by the people who raised me. It comes with a costly price though----countless broken hearts and being gullibility!

The emperor had already taken a liking to Yinglo way before this point and now seeing Fu asking to marry her, he gets desperate at the thought of loosing her and he asked her to marry him @10:47.. The only thing that really got in their way was their pride(emperor & yinglo).
It also should be noted that emperors marriages were arranged as per political/economic/social reasons, he may have alot of wifes but love none but with Yinglo it was different he actually loved her and chose her himself, so it makes sense.
If Yinglo had just accepted his offer for marriage earlier, it would of had eliminated so much hardship for her 🥱🥱. Really this emperor was not going to be proposing with a sweet declaration of love😂😂 they both so prideful.
