Yes, Wei Yingluo truly loved the emperor but Fuheng fans believe she only loved him but that’s not true. It’s possible to love more than one person in your lifetime. Wei Yingluo had an idealistic teenage young love for Fuheng but it was shattered forever the moment he married Erqing, it was never the same again, she moved on with her life. Fuheng was the beginning but the Emperor was the middle and end for Wei Yingluo. For me their relationship was by far the most were entertaining to watch, they were perfectly matched, both challenged each other and so fiercely intelligent, equals in fact!
@@bellabana in my opinion Ying Luo loved both Fu Heng and the emperor in different ways at different times in her life. Fu Heng was both a friend and her first love for Ying Luo, in time both were able to know what the other was thinking just because of the affinity they had. Fu Heng was Yang Luo equal in spirituality and similar sense of justice. The emperor was her mature love, someone equally stubborn as her, equally petty, equally intellectually smart and equally shady and morally in gray area.
But truly she was a free spirit that is why both man struggled with capturing her heart completely and the only managed to get a part of her heart at different times in life.
For her staying true to her free spirit nature and following her path was the essence of her very soul. This fact it's perfectly reflected in how she let's her children enjoy a carefree life in the palace despite the emperor's strong protests.

He loves her so very much and in turn loves the children they have together so very much, although she never directly says I love you, she tells him here a woman will only have children with the man she loves. She is the only one who doesn’t pander to him, doesn’t always say yes to him, doesn’t suck up to him, she’s brutally honest and treats him as a normal person not an Emperor and he loves it. I love watching their interactions although he is very harsh to her some times and I think it’s because he is so jealous and he can’t control his emotions so act’s irrationally and over the top. Of course YL just takes it in her stride.

When I watch this and when I watch the earlier episodes when The Emperor was still with the previous Empress, I can see clear differences in his bearings. With YingLuo he was happy, boasterous, annoyed, but also so much more relaxed. with the previous empress he was tensed and a lot sadder

I don’t hate him at all, for me the Emperor & Wei Lingluo’s relationship was the best part of the series. I found Fuheng looked too much like a little boy looks wise & I kept thinking she would’ve run circles around him if they’d ended up together whereas the Emperor was her match intellectually & emotionally.

I understand the appeal of Feheng 100%, gosh he really is a great guy. But the Emperor and Yingluo share a mature type of love, well-matched intellect, and a recognition/respect for the other's intellect and principles -- their dynamics really made this story stand out. I guess I'm too old now to resonate with the puppy love Fuheng and Yingluo shared haha

Mil A yes it’s tween/teenage girls that think of Fuheng like a Kpop idol. Young girls the world over have always liked guys that look more like pretty girls, hence the love of boy bands. As they mature their tastes tend to change and they can then see the appeal of more masculine looking men, certainly the Emperor is the embodiment of that type.

I think she loved them both, Fuheng was her first idealistic young love but that was shattered the moment he married Erquig, she then fell in love with the Emperor later on. This was set over a 24 year period so she grew up & matured in that time. She never forgot Fuheng, he’d always hold a place in her heart but she definitely loved the Emperor as well. I much preferred the Emperor & Wei Lingluo together, their dynamic was so fascinating to watch, very entertaining & special.
Her love for the emperor is just the same love that all of his harem felt. It was nothing especial. But she lives in the present, so...

TRIVIA: Niohuru Chenbi (Imperial Concubine Shun) was supposed to convey the fictional character “Fragrant Concubine” in the series, but was cut down the plot (I believed it was for censorship purposes). So her original name should’ve been Xojam Chenbi and would be referred to as Consort Rong, the Uyghur muslim concubine of the Qianlong Emperor and would later serve as the reference to the legendary Fragrant Concubine. Actually there are some fragments throughout the series of the said Uyghur concubine, notice when Yingluo was about to see her for the first time in the garden while the emperor watches Chenbi dancing, we were supposed to see her in her tribal dress but was cut due to her represented the minority of China, hence it was cut down.
