I love the fact that Ying Luo was brutally honest, bold and unapologetically herself always and never cared about the emperor's status.😄😃😀 Exactly the fact that she treated the emperor the same as everyone else was what made him like her.😄 For Ying Luo the only person she treated as her superior in every way was the empress and that was because deep down the empress was the only one that deserved to be treated as such by Ying Luo and everyone else.

It challenged him to pit his intelligence against Yingluo, which is why he antagonized her so much. He mainly wanted to see what her next move would be. Finally had a worthy opponent in her. The Emperor was extremely intelligent and crafty as well, which is why he could see through most of her tricks.
I wonder, did Yingluo ever feared for her life, looking up and seeing the Emperor before her.
I always lol when the Emperor's emotional monologue gets suddenly interrupted by our girl. It's so hilarious. The male lead is such a good actor, his expressions and emotions are to the point. Love this couple.

Yinglui had balls the size of the palace. She even tricked him to get away. She knew if the Emperor really wanted to kill her, no one, not even the Empress would be able to save her. He enjoyed her defiance, but truthfully, he couldn't tell her that.
@@Skydancer263 despite the fact he was emperor he needed a challenge and Ying Luo was exactly that challenge.😀😄😃 Plus he was petty, crafty, stubborn, blatant but not a narrow minded person by nature therefore he didn't punish people without a good reason.
Not only Ying Luo but also Doctor Ye, his eunuch Deshang and Fu Heng are very honest people that had the courage to tell the emperor the truth evan when he didn't want to hear about that. Sometimes he was mad at them but he would also let them get away because deep down he knows that he also needed honest people to scold him and give him a reality check. For example he always tolerates his eunuch Li scolding when the eunuch reminds him often to take better care of his health and to not get angry.

But as he said here, as an emperor he cant afford to fall in love with a woman for that cud put the woman's life in danger as well as his (coz this cud be his weakness). I guess that's one of several reasons why Ying Luo was never appointed as an empress, and to protect her son, Ying Luo also didnt want to be an empress.
@@ikausman2840 I believe in real life, he couldn't make Yingluo an Empress when she was alive due to her low birth status. Her son, upon becoming Emperor, posthumously made her an Empress.

He wasn't accustomed to someone defying him at every turn especially with it being a female who didn't simper or ask for anything. He had to think outside the box when it came to Yingluo.
