I don't think I could give him back. He obviously seemed to have a deeper connection with you than his previous owners. They couldn't have been looking too hard for him if they didn't even contact the shelter. I would have kept him; that was the right thing to do for the dog.

I am not sure I could have been as gracious. Looking at the reunion the dog was trying to melt into his new dad -- not jumping all over his original family. Because of their close connection the family should have let him keep the dog. They never thought to look for the dog at the shelter? I would have plastered the area with posters and checked every day at local shelters and animal control.

God bless you.
Putting the many questions i have aside. What an absolute S#!T situation to find yourself in. The world would be a better place with more people like this gentleman.. i only hope the doggo is truly happy back with his original owners..
He adored his foster dad
You are such a wonderful human being! People like you make me believe there’s still good out there! God bless you always! 🙏❤️
He is a very caring man to put the dog's well being above his own desire to keep the dog. Not everyone would do that. I'm glad the family lets him visit the dog.
How painful, good man. You sacrificed the right thing. Bless you in your pain.
Awwww… you are a great man. You did the right thing and they were good to send you videos and so glad you got to visit him. Now he has TWO families.
You sir are a hero. My heart aches for you, but it also sings at your enormous act of love & sacrifice. You are destined for a dog again. Very soon. I know it.
What a beautiful person you are - that must have been so hard . Well done you 🙏❤️🌟
This man has the ABSOLUTE Best Heart - The True Heart of Rescue = of Real Love for Animals.
I hope this family gets the dog a microchip this time. This hero didn’t have to give him back but did what he thought best for the dog. I hope he gets to see him often. ❤️🇨🇦
That was a truly selfless thing you did for that family, sir. You may not feel it, but you are a hero to them, I'm sure. God bless!❤❤❤
People in these situations share the dog! Can’t you do joint custody and share this dog? I hate that this pup lost you! This pup clearly still needs you. Please stay in this puppy’s life! Please?
I don't think I could give him back. He obviously seemed to have a deeper connection with you than his previous owners. They couldn't have been looking too hard for him if they didn't even contact the shelter. I would have kept him; that was the right thing to do for the dog.
Have a blessed life. You are that dog’s guardian angel. Angels are always selfless and compassionate.❤
Ahhh, such a bitter-sweet situation. Thank you for having bonded with the dog and balanced him, took good care of him. Your unconditional love allowed you to return him to his original guardians, and thankfully they allow you to still be in the dog's life. They know you two have such a special bond! Long may this continue! 😁🌹🏴🇬🇧.
This is the most decent man on the planet. And that dog knows it and wants to live with him forever 💔❤️💔
You are a true hero sir! In service to others we find sense of self. I can only imagine the blessings GOD has planned for you soon.
You are such an amazing person!!! Thank you for your kindness to the dogs. God bless you!!
The dog looked more than happy with you, and didn’t seem fussed about the old owners. I’d have let the dog choose because he would have. ❤
You are a good guy. In your heart you know that you did the right thing. I could tell that giving him up was really hard for you. Kudos to you❤
They didn’t search for him for months or have him chipped. Not convinced this was the right thing for the dog.
we don't really know the whole story. It is indeed heartbreaking for the man. he is a good person but none of us can judge
This precious baby was loved so much both families were willing to be heartbroken to see him happy!! What a special pup, and what an amazing human willing to break his own heart to do right by this pup! 😍😍
This is sweet of you! But that dog adores you! Thankfully he has a good family and you can visit.
He's a great human being a true dog lover. This dog loves him so much. Great dog love story.
How sad that you rescued the dog and now lose him. The dog looks like a great dog. Thank you for loving him while he was away from his family, you are an angel, thank you for loving him.
That was a kindness. Sometimes doing the right thing is hard. But everyone wins if you still get to see the dog.
What an absolute champ of a man!!! I would have been a complete mess. How heartbreaking for him to fall head over heels and then discover he has a family.
Kudos to him! What a lucky family that he was the one who ended up with Leon.
You sir are an angel. to become attached to this sweet dog and when the previous owners came forward about their ownership being able to give him up must have been the hardest thing to do. You deserve a second chance for the love of another pet. 🐕
This is heart wrenching. 😢 I think he did the right thing. He is truly someone with a heart of gold. What a selfless and loving act. I wish him the best in life and to find another soul dog. ❤
Awww. Thank you for having a caring heart.
Wel, I am crying now. Thank you for sharing your story with us. You are a very good man.
What a blessing you are to the world.💙
This man is a truly decent person and the best kind of human being. Thank you for doing what you did.
That is the sweetest dog. He now has more people that really care about him. Glad he has the love he deserves. 😊
That man is a GREAT and HONORABLE man. I am delighted the dog is back at his home, happy and thriving. It's a wonderful family that welcomes the man to come and visit. God bless all of them for their thoughtfulness, kindness and generosity.
😍🐶 What a GREAT GUY!!!! I know it had to be heartbreaking, but you did the right thing. I am sure the family was glad their dog was with someone safe who cared, until they found him. Many dogs are not so lucky when they get lost.
God Bless from Georgia ❤️🐶
Sir you have a huge heart, and you helped heal that family's heart from when they lost their dog. Losing a pet is so hard especially when you don't know what happened to them. Bless you for returning him, even though it was hard for you. Hope you found a new baby to love!
Good person here folks! That took a lot of heart. Glad you are getting to see your pup still, very sweet!
He’s yours. Tough on them, they had over a month to claim him.
Easy to say but imagine losing the pet you've had for years, especially since theyre a family. A month isn't long in comparison
What a great guy he is! So many people would have kept the dog. You can tell how much gratitude the family has to him since they regularly send him photos and videos of the dog. Thank you, sir. I know it was a tough and sad decision.
That must have been incredibly difficult to let him go but I agree. If it was me I'd be forever grateful for your sacrifice.
Wowww.... what a great man and human being! Great video
Wow, this is a genuinely good person. He deserves to have a dog in his life, so I hope he will rescue another loving soul who needs him. Thanks for sharing. It’s so nice to know really good people are still around.🥰
The walking talking definition of a good man and a great human being
You are such a lovely man. Thank you for volunteering at the shelters, for thinking of others over yourself, and for being such a truly wonderful man. You are an Earth Angel.
Your story makes me cry 😿 good for the dog
That was heart breaking 💔 you are better than me....the dog was in shelter for 30 days and no one came??? I'm thankful you get to see the fur baby ❤❤❤
You are an Honorable, Selfless, Giant of a MAN❣My ❤ aches for you losing this loving, gentle DOG you have loved, given a Home and nurtured like a DAD.😢That was such a TOUGH DECISION. Thank GOD his original FAMILY Loves him too. I Pray that you get to have your Own loving DOG very soon.
Bless you sir! You are a good soul!❤
Good on this guy, his heart is in the right place. Thank you!
Is that guy Single?😉❤I'm up for adoption!😄haha!
Me too😂
You're a good man . Period. ❤❤❤❤❤❤🐶🐶 🐶 🐶 🐶 🐶 That must have been such a hard thing to do... Leon clearly adores you! GOOD man! 👍 ✅😊❤
I’m not sure I could give him back..😢😢😢
Me too
You are so kind and thoughtful. There's going to be more to this story. This dog brought these two families together. I believe a higher plan is going to unfold. God bless you all.
This is a beautiful story. I guess I would've done the same thing. The only upside is now you can rescue another dog. 🙂
