    This vehicle was bought back in December 2013 being one of the early 2014 Grand Cherokees. It was bought in the USA and imported to Europe hence this being a US-spec car in Europe.

    I bought a 2014 Jeep GC Wk2 EcoDiesel 11 months ago with 106k miles. It is now deleted and has a stage 2 tune on it. After 11 months it now currently has 150k miles on it I’ve had absolutely no problems with the Jeep or the engine. Im Averaging 32MPG ~63mph and 27MPG ~80 mph. Make sure to keep up on the maintenance on the fuel filters changing them ~30k miles. Change engine oil ~7k miles (rated up to 10k miles). Make sure the check the coolant level (I’ve heard the EGR has caused a lot of problems for some people). Make sure you drive it a lot at “highway speeds” (>50) so you don’t clog up the DPF and put it into limp mode. Let it idle at least 1 minute of normal driving before shutting it down, if you tow a trailer let it idle 3 minutes. Operation temperature is around 195°F and gets up to about 203°F when on the highway without towing a trailer. Like I’ve said before some people have had problems with the EGR and it starting on fire, but as long as you watch your engine temperatures (or delete the EGR), you will be just fine.

    I have this kind of vehicle for 3 years.Bought it used with 60k miles.First year I enjoyed it,"fuel economy",power,acceleration,tork etc.Second year problems started from limp mode 100 miles away from my home.Since that my car is sitting more time in repair shop at local Jeep dealer than I'm driving it.I had replaced sooth filter, egr cooler,fuel lines,alll jets,most of sensors,high preassure fuel pump and today I was told (after 2 month in dealer shop,I towed it to dealer for repair July 8 /21,its almost Sep.8 /21) I need low pressure fuel pump to be replaced too.I maid only 20k miles for 3 years,and every time when I have problem, vehicle is in shop for few weeks minimum, because it's no parts availability.I don't wish to buy this car even to my enemy.Last time my wife used it,and it stalled on highway with 50mph speed, and thanks God nobody hit it,and my kids and wife weren't injured.

      Sorry to hear that Ivan B… I’ve seen the modern Diesel vehicles last long without problems if they are driven mostly on Highway speeds , coz that help limit carbon buildup in engine systems and keep it away from emission related problems. And the people who have any diesel vehicles not just a jeep and if there’re doing average 7000 kms a year and on low speeds like 60 km/h most of times likely to have many issues in moderation diesel cars… You always better buy petrol car if you’re in this type of scenario where you just drive for work 15-20 km a day… Best of luck

    Looking into getting an EcoDiesel as well. There’s a 2016 Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel Summit for around 25k with 57000 miles at a nearby dealership. One of the main reasons I’m looking at it is because of the fuel economy it has. I was trying to look at reviews on the Jeep owners website and honestly, most of the reviews I saw were nothing but people saying that had problems on top of problems, which I was scared to hear. But what I have noticed, most of them were for a 2014 model, not much on a 2016 which is would I be getting. But would you recommend overall?

    • @AStick3Pedals
      @AStick3Pedals  3 роки тому +3

      I'd definetly recommend it! However only if you plan on doing at least 13 000 miles since this engine needs to be driven just like all diesels. I'd also recommend looking at it's german diesel rivals. Audi Q7 TDI, VW Touareg TDI, BMW X5 35d, Mercedes ML 350 bluetec and GLK 250 bluetec. The GLK is the smallest. Most of the german rivals Jeep will probalby cost more to buy and maintain however the build quality is better. Let me know what you decide on buying!

      As I mentioned towards the end of the video, the systems which make it comply with emissions regulations have posed minor problems. To be more specific the car is sensitive to the type of Adblue you use, therefore putting the Jeep one is best. If the car is very low or empty on adblue the vehicle will not start.
