Thank you for this review! Very helpful. I was curious about the matte but like you I used the original back in high school (when my skin was even oilier than it is now). I think the matte is only necessary if you are someone who is literally wiping buckets of sweat and oil off every day. The original was already pretty matte itself lol.
your video is so good! I have oil skin and I just buy the original one. Your video encourage me to the this product before I refund it!

I had the matte foundation and I know what you mean about it not controlling oils! I have a video up about that! But I want to get the original one and you sold me! I'm definitely getting it! Love a natural looking finish you know? I spent so much money on Smashbox and Urban Decay trying to find a good foundation after always getting drugstore and they all suck! But I want something quick and easy so I'll be getting this! And I love your personality! Please definitely make more videos! You deserve more people on your channel!! Omg seriously you are like making my day!!:) We're really on the same page with skin and beauty products here! lol. YES! the matte just goes on chalky...and yup the oils are still there. I was beginning to think I was the only one who experienced that! I really think you'll like the original one better. I found that putting a moisturizer on first for oily skin helps A LOT. and YES haha for the longest time I was in a foundation rut lol and I tried everything from Tarte to Laura Mercier to Everyday Minerals to It cosmetics to drug store brands and honestly I just kept coming back to the original bare minerals. I feel super uncomfortable if I feel like you can SEE I'm wearing something on my face and bare minerals is the only thing that hasn't felt or looked like that. You'll have to tell me what you think of the original! Most of my videos are shot with my canon powershot G16. But I recently just got the go pro and thats what I used for my most recent video:)

ahh thank you for responding! I tried it today and OMFG LIKE *DIES* it is soooo perfect! It LOOKS like skin! I'm in love! All because of you!! Thank you so much girly! and right?! its so hard to find a really good foundation but this is definitely it! and aww I wish I could get a great camera like that lol. I use an HD camera for now lol.

It's soooo good at helping with the oil too. Ahh no I'm looking through your videos now and you do a really great job!! I think ANY camera works if you got the right person in front of it!:)

Thank you for doing this review!!!! I used bare minerals throughout school and college and switched over to to liquid as I got older. I've been looking to go back for gym days / running errands where I don't want to look like death lol. This answered all my questions I've had!!!!!!

I never liked Bare Minerals because for me, it was like grinding dirt into your face and the shiny original..geez, if I have a zit or a pimple spot, the last thing I want is it to freaking glow. And if you have any dry areas, it brings that out in contrast to the oily areas. I tried BM about 20 times (BM lol...just noticed that) and each time it looked like my skin was caked with that sheen which just emphasizes any imperfections. I don't care for that painted doll look. But on you, it looks really good!
Were you by any chance using the bare minerals brushes that come with the kit? I started off using those and in no time the bristles turned super scratchy and it felt terrible! I switched to just a regular old cheapo brush and it works so much better. Also, I notice that when I'm in a rush and end up applying more at one time it tends to look oily and caked but if I take my time and go layer by layer in small amounts it blends much nicer. The struggle is real with this stuff though lol. I still find I get pretty oily throughout the day. I've also heard other people using the BM Matte version around their t-zone and the original everywhere else. I want to try that soon. Thanks for sharing! :)
