    My pro-tip for dry skin using powder foundation is to put on a facial oil as a “primer” and apply powder onto skin and it turns to cream. Or, put facial oil in palm and add powder to mix to make a liquid with high pigment and apply to face.

    I owned BM foundations twice and ended up hating it both times. Now I know why! I used it too much and didn't buff nearly enough! 😅 It still seems like a lot of work but I do love the end result. Uber natural and flattering!

      Hi Lena! I completely agree! The BM foundation does require more work than I think most people anticipate, but the result is so worth it! Thankfully there are liquids on the market that do a similar job and are quicker to apply. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

      To me it is the fastest foundation to put on. I use circular motions a Bare Minerals advises, and it takes nothing. I don't pick up too much. I don't use any primer either.

    The Bare Min looked really good on you. I use the Matt. Recently I tried the B. M. Well Rested concealer. It's very pretty, but it burns my eyes all day. ???

      Hi Dorinda! Thank you for your sweet compliment! I really love the bareMinerals Matte, too! I have tried Well-Rested in the past, but the shade needed to be better for me, but I really enjoyed the Bisque shade! I never experienced any burning; however, when I worked at Sephora years ago, a customer returned Well Rested due to it burning her eyes, so possibly there is something in the formula that causes sensitivity for some people. I hope you were able to find another product that better suited you! Thank you for commenting, and I hope your week is off to a great start!

      Hi Christie! I adore the BareMinerals Original Foundation and have fond memories of my mom and grammy using the products when I was growing up. Are there any other products from BareMinerals that you love? Thank you so much for watching and commenting; I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

    I Wore Pat McGrath For My Wedding Day (April 1, 2024)...I Had To Decide Between Armani Silk Luminous, Chanel No 1 And YSL Nu 😂 But My Husband 😒 Wanted Natural, Natural 😂😂😂😂
    This Looks As Good As The Laura Geller On Your Face. Now I Want To Try It. Thanks For The Video.

      Hi Camilla! Congratulations! I wanted natural, natural on my wedding day and decided to wear the BareMineral Matte instead of the YSL All Hours or MAC Studio Fix Powder, and it still impresses me how skin-like it looks! What is your favourite way to apply to the Pat McGrath Foundation? I had it a few years ago, but I struggled with it looking heavy on my skin, so I passed it to a friend, and it is now her holy grail foundation. The YSL Nu intrigues me; how does it compare to similar base products?
      I recently returned from holiday, and I brought the Bare Mineral Original Foundation with me. I was beyond impressed by how smooth it looks! The only downside is that it takes longer to apply than other foundations, so mid-trip, I purchased a skin tint that was quicker to use. 🤣
      Thank you for sharing your wedding foundation choice! I hope your wedding was incredible!

    Hi Zack!!! For yearsssss OMG!!!! The Mineral Veil from those days and the product that followed the bronzer were my favorites. I stopped using the foundation when my skin turned from normal to dry to cardboard dry.
    Now, with your technique, who knows, I might venture...

    • @ZackDooley

      Hi Gladys! I love the Mineral Veil with SPF30, and the Invisible Bronzer was divine; years ago, my mom gave me an extra of the Faux Tan loose bronzer, and I loved it and look back at pictures cringe at how heavy-handed I was. Hahaha! Have you tried their newer Blonzers? I have one shade, and I love it! With the right priming base, you could make the BM foundation work for you; I've heard fantastic things about the Laura Geller Hydrating Spackle Primer for people with dry skin who like to use powder foundations. I hope you are having a wonderful and blessed weekend!

    I’m curious about the matte mineral foundation. Does the matte one dry the skin? I already have dry skin bc of my tender age of 62 😂 and have dry skin . I have the original mineral one bc I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS FOUNDATION. But now I would like to try the matte but afraid it would dry out my skin. What do u think? Tfs looks gorgeous on you!!

    I have extremely sensitive skin. This product looks good because it's only got a few ingredients. Have you heard from sensitive skin people? Can water be used to set instead of setting spray? I really need to avoid putting a lot of stuff on my face? I know the buffing is something to consider.

      Hello A Jae! I love this foundation for my rosacea flares, and when I was working as a freelance makeup artist, I used it quite a bit on sensitive skin clients. One thing I would mention for sensitive skin is to pay extra attention to skin prep and application. For prep, I love barrier balms like the Avene Cicalfate to soothe skin and help to lay down any flaky bits of skin. For application on super sensitive skin, I love big fluffy brushes as they are more gentle than shorter dense brushes that might irritate the skin. A large soft brush will yield lighter coverage; however, with patients, you can build to your desired amount of coverage. I have used water as a setting spray, but I recommend using a continuous spray bottle that gives an ultra-fine mist and adding a little bit of vegetable glycerin to the bottle can also help your skin feel a little more soothed and help melt the powder foundation into the skin. I hope this was helpful!

      @@ZackDooley Thanks for the tips, Zack. I used the last version of Barepro Powder foundation, and I liked it. When they changed the formula they lost me. I have seen it on Ebay but wanted to see if this one would be better for my more sensitive days. Have you used the compacts before? If so, how do they compare with the matte loose?
      Would you consider doing a powder and mineral foundation ranking video?

    ❤I also love the BM matte, but nowadays is caking on my nose and settle on my texture skin, maybe I don’t buff well?

    • @ZackDooley
      @ZackDooley  Рік тому

      Hello! I am beyond excited to meet a fellow BM Matte lover! Funny enough, I recently ran into caking and settling with the BM original, and I found using a lesser amount of product helped a lot, and then for areas where more coverage is desired, it is easy to build it up. Sometimes, I still notice some settling on my chin and a fluffy eye shadow brush has been especially helpful for smoothing out those pesky bits. Also, a glycerin-based mist like MAC Fix + or Pixi Milky Mist can help to “melt” powders into the skin, which helps to smooth out some texture as well! I hope this was helpful! Cheers to a lovely week! 🩷
      PS, my apologies for the delayed response. I thought I had already replied, but when I checked the comments, I noticed this comment did not have a reply!

    Oh man, the final results look great - as always - but it almost looks like you need an orbital sander or that motorized facewashing tool to get it to bond with the skin.

    • @ZackDooley
      @ZackDooley  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Andy! OMG this made me laugh so hard! You kinda have to use your brush like an orbital sander to really work the mineral makeup particles into the skin so they can melt and look more life-like. Thank you so much for such a fun comment!
