Question on this... Does this make it so we're only able to access our funds through Ledger? What if I need to restore my wallet to a non ledger device? Am I able to somehow add my created passphrase to my 24 word seed phrase to gain access to those funds, even outside of using Ledger?
Also, can you have multiple passphrases loaded onto your ledger secured using different pins? Or you can only have one passphrase account loaded onto the device at any one time, which means you can only have two different wallets (or sets of private keys) loaded into the device at one time (recovery-phrase wallet, recovery-phrase+passphrase wallet)?
You can have unlimited wallets, unlimited passphrases but only one secondary PIN which is connected with passphrase. PIN is just a shortcut to avoid need to enter passphrase. When you set up the third PIN the second PIN will be deleted - I tried. That means for example you can have 10 different passphrases but just one of them will be connected with secondary PIN.
HOw many wallets with passphrases can you create on the same device ? Can you only create one extra wallet with extra passphrase or can I make mulitple wallets with multiple passphraes on one device ?

I bought a ledger and started using it with a "regular" PIN for over a year now. Only yesterday I discovered this feature of the "passphrase/25 word". What should I do to put my current funds in several accounts (eth, btc, near, sol, etc) into a new PASSPHRASE PIN since they are linked to the regular one? The only way would be set a passphrase pin and transfer from the old regular pin accounts to the new accounts in the passphrase pin? downside is all the work and network fees etc.. please help and advice. thanks.
i think these hidden accounts are only for ledger live app. u will still have to use regular account to connect to hot wallets. Especially when ur staking to your cryptos.
soory i'm new, i didnt understand how you transfert fund from standar account to passphrase account? from ledger to ledger its not possible because of physical signing?
When connected to Pin code does that mean that the passphrase or "25th word" is stored on the device? Does this mean when use temporarily, the "25th word" is not stored on the device?
Yes that's correct - each method has its pros and cons but generally, attaching a passphrase to a PIN code is more convenient because using a passphrase temporarily will force you to retype the passphrase into the device for each session where you want to access your secret accounts. Hope this answers your question!
That’s the original setup and it’s okay to leave it like that. But some people are concerned that someone will find their 24 word recovery phrase some day. So now you can protect the 24 recovery whit an password actually. Second thing is that under dearest you have plausible denying that you have not much crypto on your ledger when big money is kept in passphrase and accounts deleted in Ledger Live.

What if smt happens to my Ledger device and I don't want to buy a new Ledger device but rather restore on a different cold wallet solution? Is Passphrase only useable in Ledger devices and are Passphrase accounts only recoverable with a Ledger device?
Hey there - the 24 passphrases are generated by a protocol called BIP39 (learn more here: www.ledger.com/academy/bip-39-the-low-key-guardian-of-your-crypto-freedom) and can be entered to any hardware wallet that supports the protocol.
Could you guys do a video on how to swap tokens. I've read the instructions you guys sent, but I'm still having issues. I'm able to get all the way to the end of the exchange when it tells me to confirm transfer, and then right at the end, it says something went wrong. Try again.
@Ledger it was the exchange. I tried to swap USDC to BTC. I was able to go through every step, but the final step was to be. I verified the transaction and waited. An error message appeared, and it asked me to retry. I go through the steps again and get the same response. I was able to swap USDC to ETH, but when I tried to do it a second time, later in the week, it did not work.
@Ledger Swap worked with BTC and ETH swaps but didn't work with other swaps. I tried several swaps; USDC/ETH, ETH/AAVE, and several other swaps, and it didn't work.
Hello and thank you for your very clear video on passphrases. One question I have. It appears to me if there is one issue I see is that you have to keep a record of what accounts you created since the recovery of them does not automatically appear for that crypto account or that device seed. What I mean is you have to create an ETH account to bring in your assets from the blockchain that you deleted in your video or that account will stay hidden. From that point of development that is very good to have. You still own them but may forget those accounts since they do not autopopulate into your new nano device or Ledger app. Is there any method you can recommend for wallets that have many crypto accounts, nft or crypto domain names in your wallets? This can get very confusing in knowing what you have since you literally can have so many accounts in each wallet now. This just happened to me as one crypto account was not showing up on a new device that I reseeded from an old device. Unless you create that account it does not come up automatically until you create that given crypto account. This I can see needs improvement but not sure if it is even possible to program in or not. You do not want to see it if it is a secret wallet, but you do want to see it if you have alot of accounts and you have to recover one of them. I hope you understand what I mean. Thanks again.
