This was an amazing end! Thanks OC, this was an amazing series, and seeing it end is both sad and heartwarming! It's fitting how it ended at the end of the year when it began at the beginning of the year. But Shiho did not disown Miho nor plan to disown Maho. Iemoto, Shiho's mother, was why Shiho was who she is now. Shiho could have been a better mother nonetheless. Chiyo is still no better for pushing Alice into Sensha-do at a young age. Ami is the best adult in the series. Your bit with Bauer and going full car engine was perfect! And Ogin and Rum were very fitting with their songs. But your hatred for the French girls is unfounded. The Brits burned Joan of Arc for trying to help her people. France still such their history is hilarious with how many epic failures fit into one measly country and their people are terrible. Ami Chono...responsible? I think not! The main issue that I have with Renta...and it's more of a writer thing than a him thing I believe, is that during the course of events in the anime, he actually could have come across some good reasons for reigning in on the Ministry of Education's "promise" to keep Ooarai open. Instead, he ended up using one of the most lamest excuse for going back on said "promise" which made it all too easy for the other schools to rally around Miho and Ooarai. Had he made well known some of the major issues the ministry could have had with Ooarai, and as a result we could have seen some interesting plot points, especially involving Ooarai having to make concessions for their help. Favorite character has to be Taeko Kondou, though. I mean who doesn't like a seemingly polite, caring athletic volleyball girl with what many would consider an iconic design, with or without the...you know...melons... Anyways...there's a lot of writing potential with Taeko both in terms of the show's writers and for fan material as well, and a part of me would like to see her get more screen time in the anime. And hopefully dressed and not skinny dipping in a public bath because those Mausdamned bath scenes annoy the crap out of me! Call me old fashion, but there's few things I hate more in an anime than a bath scene.

I particularly enjoyed the plethora of WW2 media references such as Kay recreating scenes from the Patton Movie, the Saving Private Ryan sniper reference during the battle with Pravda, and the battle with Kuromorimine turning into the Battle of Berlin. Ironically the battles and deaths didn't bother me nearly as much as the actual "Scenes of nonconsensual intercourse", granted every casualty for Ooarai was tragic in their own way but the way Ceasar went out was just badass.
