Hey y’all! I’m a barista trainer and have worked for the company for 3 years.. let me tell you.. nobody expects you to be good at the job for at least 3 months lol yes, sometimes it’s a little annoying to have to work around a new hire, BUT in MY experience, all of your partners are there to help. Mostly anyone can answer your questions, and if they can’t, they’ll let you know who can. After 3 years, I still find myself asking questions. It’s a LOT of info to absorb, nobody expects you to get it all in a week of training! My store is super supportive, tho, so I lucked out. I’ve heard some straight up HORROR stories from other baristas at different stores. Lol
I just started working at Starbucks because it’s a job that’s out of my comfort zone so I gave it a go. I’m new but I feel like some ppl already don’t like me because they’re so fast and I’m slow lol. I’m trying to learn as fast as I can to match there pace🥲😭. I can tell some of them get annoyed with me 😢. I loved the vid btw it’s sooo relatable 💕
I'm worried about this too because I just applied yesterday. I wouldn't think too much about it. You may just think that because you think you're slow! I'm sure they understand. :)

i officially started working on the 29th of december of last year. so far i like it. yesterday was by far my favorite day. lately i’ve been getting closer to all of my coworkers. i haven’t started making drinks for people yet but i have for myself to practice. ive only really done drive thur with my trainer and clean so far. tomorrow i’ll most likely start making drinks since my shift is longer that it has been (cause of school) i will admit the drive thru register is the most stressful thing ever and i’m still learning but so far i love it here. everyone basically took me under their wing. i already have favorite customers. ive already dealt with rood and....creepy customers. i’m just ready to learn as much as i can so i don’t feel as out of place as i sometimes do

I worked at Starbucks it was extremely cliche and full of drama. They basically chase people out who they don’t like.
That is actually a smart idea! Meet who you're working before accepting the job offer. Unfortunately, I was interviewed at a different Sbux than the one I originally applied for but thank you for sharing your experience! Brings me comfort and a heads-up of what to expect

I actually have my interview tomorrow for a shift supervisor position. I agree with you that ya gotta scope out the place prior to applying and get a good feel for the work environment. Drama always happens in the workplace. I always say that if a person wants to be employed, they know as a responsible adult that they are there in that establishment for one thing and one thing only; to work, to collect a check, to go home. Petty drama I do not put up with and I'm luckily good at diffusing those kinds of situations amongst co-workers and getting people back on track. I feel that entering in with some sort of control, will help to keep the peace if need be. The benefits at Starbucks I've heard are some of the best for the food and beverage industry.
I feel bad for your not-so-positive experiences working there in the past. Hopefully, it got better :) I sure do hope that it goes well for me too.

@@sandraelizabethcuatecopere7904 sorry I’m just seeing this now!!! It was so hard for me because you learn so much information so fast. I don’t know if your store has a drive thru but by day 3 I was already good with the cashing out. The actual taking orders takes a little bit getting used to. I started on may 17 and I’m I’m good with drive, making Frappuccino’s, refreshers and some of the iced drinks. Hot bar is where I’m still learning. But the other baristas are so nice and willing to help. DONT be afraid to ask questions, that’s how you’re going to learn. Also I wanted to quit a few times because it was so much all at once but once you start getting into the rhythm of things I promise you it does get easier! Let me know if you need any help. I'm finishing my 3rd week and yeah! My store has also a drive thru, and I am having trouble finding the buttons to register the orders. Sometimes we're in a rush because there're so many orders and I'm kind of slow at making beverages my problem is that I don't remember the amount of syrup for each drink 😢. I won't deny the fact that I am getting better but I still feel it's not enough. Hope you are enjoying your time at Starbucks my best wishes for you.

@@coffeewithkarlie since it’s only your 3rd day, don’t worry a bit. You’re not gonna learn it that quick. I’m still learning at a month. It’s repetitive. Just don’t give up. And on the pos screen, it actually tells you how many pumps and shots the drink gets. Believe me, you got this.

I just got hired two days ago but waiting on my background check to get back! I’m a little nervous but I’m a bartender at another place on the weekends so maybe that experience helps me (for 4 years) 🤷🏽♀️ the process took a month in order for me to get an interview but the store I applied for just got built and opened in August 2021. (Only been open a month) So I’m nervous about the training 😩
Also omg I worked for Toys R Us and it was the same level of drama. Coworkers dating, so much gossip, everyone sleeping with everyone... so much yikes.
also the amt of ppl who ask for an unsweetened refresher like BRO its a base bro its loaded w sugar u cant get it unsweetened
