    This is the best plyo video around. Love that you substantiate it with science. Even more impressive is your ability to break down the science for all to understand.

    Awesome Video. Love the Science Behind it! Btw, once you started talking I was litterally about to suggest the old Soviet Plyometrics video but then you referenced it.

      Yes, the Shock Method. I’ve used drop jumps as a jumper myself and coach for over 40 years. Lots of useful info as you know that’s still relevant came out of the old Soviet Block

    Your explanations are very valuable. We are benefiting from them. Sir, it would be better if you show the picture frames of the drills while speaking.

    Is a lower height drop jump less stressful than a higher height drop jump? If this is true, should I program lower height drop jump in a earlier training cycle and progress to higher height in a more intense cycle later?

    • @Johnshepherdtrackcoach
      @Johnshepherdtrackcoach  Рік тому +1

      Good question and the answer is yes in terms of intensity. However the lower hight will target the ankles if you don’t overly bend at the knees. That’s why we do the lower ones - to focus on powering up through the feet. The higher drops will place more emphasis on the knee joint. What’s important whatever the height is to triple extend. So, unless you need to build up your familiarity with drop jumps I’d recommend that you do various height drops in the same training phase. Hope this helps.

    Can drop jump be used unilaterally for speed development..I am asking this because when we do drop jump with single leg there is more ground contact tym than normal . Is it okk?
