    Really good tips and explanation of the mechanics, and main focus of sprinting fast. I remember when I was young, fit and fast, and had a feel for these things, how good it felt one year to also prepare for the triple jump, for the summer school sports event, and how I could sense the carry though into sprinting. It seemed to encourage an upright posture, and a crisp, elastic type bounce as you hit the ground, almost like bounding which is where plyo and maximum force at minimum and short contact times comes into play. I'm only now realising how much plyo and natural strength I had back then, and how weak my feet in particular seem to have become. A lot of work before I'm back on the road again, especially on the feet, but should be fun. Cal Dietz focuses on foot strength too, does he not. Thanks again, and all the best to all aspiring, or unretiring runners.

    Another excellent video! I feel like I have watched alot of sprint videos by now by all sorts of authors, but your explanation of what is going on is the best, you explain things in quite a unique way but its just spot on in helping me think about what I am trying to achieve 🙏 Thank you!

    So the knees on the front leg need to come up with the shin perpendicular to the ground that way I can produce a strong downwards force. My femurs are short so I need to get my knees higher otherwise my stride is short. Have I got that right?

    What you think now about Cal Dietz triphazic training after few years applying it?

    • @ATHLETE.X
      @ATHLETE.X  2 роки тому +1

      As a system it can be quite effective, but you have to be ready to work very hard and focus a lot on recovery. Also you can take chunks of it and make use of them. What I liked about the book was that it was a great intro into fundamental concepts around training & adaptation in an easily digestible way. Even if you just read the book and don't use the program, you can learn some useful concepts. I wouldn't say I use his methods of training currently, but still keep bits and pieces in and will go back to themes from the book from time to time.

    Do you actively drive the knee forward or do those frontside mechanics happen naturally?

    • @ATHLETE.X
      @ATHLETE.X  Рік тому +1

      Should happen naturally with proper timing.

    Hey , a little confused. If you push straight down are you only getting vertical forces? I thought your over video about vertical vs horizontal forces said you want both at top speed phase

    When i'm sprinting, specially in the 200m, i usually ''overstride'' during airtime but end up placing my foot below my hips, any tips to prevent that?

    Your forward neck is not correct at all. I'm not a pro but looks awful. Your mixing jogging and sprinting mechanics up and missing a lot of core fundamentals.
