the pictures overlaid like they are is really annoying. Can't really make out much.

I hope I'm remembering it right. Mario's first time in a formula one car and first time at Watkins. Absolutely shredded them in practise. Journalists said it showed the current state of F1 at the time but heaped praise on Mario which he thoroughly deserved. Best racer ever.

Actually, Mario and Bobby Unser (BRM) had gone to Monza the month before, qualified for the Italian GP with Friday Practice times, then flew back to the US for a sprint car race on Saturday. They then flew back to Italy in time for the GP, only to be disqualified and not allowed to start because of the "Fangio rule:" in 1952 JMF ran a race in France, drove all night to make a race at Monza, and had a near-fatal crash. The organizers put it in the rule book that no one was allowed to compete at Monza if they had run a race elsewhere in the previous 24 hours. Now, back to your point: Mario ran such a good time in his first-ever F1 seat time at Monza that he was still well up on the grid after everyone else had another day to try to beat him . . . yes, awe-inspiring. To start P1 on his first complete F1 weekend was the stuff of legend.

Awesome. I was there as a 9 year old. Still have all the pics I took with my little kodak camera

Hello, I'd like to use the footage from 8:01 to 8:20 in a video regarding Dan Gurney's spin, as part of a collection of crashes I'm compiling that were covered in The Fastlane's crash photos database. Would this be okay?
