    In this tutorial, you will learn another typical caixa (Brazilian snare drum) pattern played in the Bateria derived from the partido-alto. Like the "Partido-Alto 1" pattern, this one is also usually played "em cima," with the caixa held high cradled in the arm. This manner of playing is believed to have originated in Rio's Estácio de Sá Samba School, later spreading to other samba schools in Rio and beyond.
