Blew out my eardrum at a glassy hollow day in Newport. It healed but had scar tissue which then had a vein or artery in it, I now hear my heart beat and need to wear ear buds with white noise or I can't sleep. I wish you the best in healing that ear drum.
I have ruptured my eardrum before and I lost all balance it was very difficult to keep my head above water. With no balance I lost the ability to figure out what is up or down. All I could do was float naturally and get pounded by waves until I finally crawled out of the water. No jet ski rescue back then .
No fun. Total disorientation. Long slow recovery process, don't rush it or you tear it again and end up with scar tissue. I was told 6 weeks. At 12 weeks Specialist was still telling me to give it a few more weeks. Blu-Tac etc doesn't work. Just let it heal properly, it's the cold hard truth and a lot of others told me so, along the way, and people that know from experience, including bad experience, with ruptured ear-drums.
I ruptured my ear drum after I fell off my board and couldn't find it until the next wave slammed it against the side of my head. Painful and bleeding all the way making it back to dry land.

@@erikapple8955 because Healy told him later on the beach.
Looks like he smacked his right ear really hard on the dive.

Heal up Mark.
The power behind that water is tremendous. I’m amazed by what you all do, when charging these monsters. Get well soon, Mark!
Terrible to see injuries… all the best mate🙏🏻
Broken eardrum is no joke- lot of us remembering Kirk today. Mahalo to HWP 💪
Mark's a warrior.

Great comment. Have patience give it a year if needed. Is better than a lifetime of tinnitus
The force wen it breaks its huge
Been there done that. Though not at 30 foot + WB I hasten to add. Good luck to the warrior that took this ear smash and beat down💪
Hope he's okay
Such a legend
Tough way to give up your spot, what was Slaters story.
He’s been there done that and doesn’t want to die.
