And as lore will tell you, Spartans were masters of war, even though they did not wear much armor, if any, and only used one handed swords, shields, and pikes. To them, proper equipment was merely what you were given and were expected to do well with it. Adaptation was key to any Spartan, because every battle was unique

Though the 300 Spartans mate their demise, they did not go down without taking a couple thousand Persians with them n.n
Man, whenever I hear this song, I remember this book I'm reading- "Chronicles of the Black Company." The song seems to perfectly fit them, since the Black Company is a group of amoral mercenaries fighting for the highest bidder, which is an evil sorceress (go figure) in this book.
When they actually took the initiative to get off of their asses and go fight... Herodotus and Thucydides will tell you that they were pretty much cowards who avoided fighting as much as possible.
in the history books, supposedly xerxes or howevers its spelled sent in the Immortals ("A-class") army against the Spartans. they are called the Immortals because the supposedly the instant one of the 1 million soldiers in the army is killed, they are replace by another one
Just cause you found out about them from gh3 doesnt make you a fake fan. Your a fake fan if you say your a huge dragonforce fan and the only song you know by them is through the fire and flames.
not to mention the fact the whole "300 spartans" things i kinda false seeing as how they also had 1000 soldiers from another nearby city-state (i forget the name)
