@@n3v3rforgott3n9he's talking about when both are using burner in the same setting, at an airshow. I can confirm his findings. Hell, this year at EAA there were direct back to back flights of a super hornet, and then an F-35. Both single jet displays. Even being the super hornet, and having 2 engines, the 35 is quite noticeably louder on burner.
@@n3v3rforgott3n9 that is not always the case. The F-16 is noticeably quieter than even the regular hornet. It depends a lot on engine size, position, and a few other factors. The 16 is pretty small and so is its engine. The 35's engine is actually quite massive in comparison, and produces something like twice the thrust, which can also be a factor in noise generation. Please read up on these things before making easily verifiable and testable statements.

Was at Eagle Mountain Lake in Texas a few weeks ago. We must've been in the flight path for NAS Ft Worth because every fifteen minutes or so jets would be doing wide circles right above us. One pass an A10 and an F35 came over. Never realized how big the 35 is. The next pass was just the 35. We happened to be right in line with it and it lit it's burners to where we could see directly into the engine nozzle. Even though it was a good 3 to 4 thousand feet above us it still made our ears ring.

I don't know where you base your claim that the F35 is less maneuverable or that what you say is just a lie. ALSO, NO pilot in their right mind would dogfight WITH their external tanks still on...that'd be just plain stupid
That's cause the F35 isn't meant to be a dogfighter. It's meant to snipe targets on datalink from 1000+ miles away without the enemy even knowing its there.
Every time I see this jet's afterburner, I instantly think of those cigarette lighters that came with cars back in the day...the one you push in I till pops out glowing hot.
You can use those wing tip vortices to calculate the pressure drop at the wingtip. The pressure drop is directly related to the dew point. You can then use that to calculate how much force is being put on those wings, and when you compare that to the actual weight of the vehicle you can calculate the g's in that turn. Physics is awesome.😅👍

For those who have not experienced this in person, this video does not do it justice. It’s so powerful that it shakes your body, and the ground vibrates. It’s just such an insane feeling standing next to one of these taking off. It truly is a remarkable experience
You know watching that beast take off is marvelous but just think what is being kept away for now dang if it ain't scary to imagine.

This aircraft is as close to a deceptacon as you get. The noise this bird makes on full light if your close enough to it, makes your entire body vibrate.

For a second, I thought it was struggling to generate lift after taking off, then it went straight up with no problems, and that's when I remembered what I'm looking at

Easily the loudest plane I’ve ever witnessed, I swear it was somehow louder than the old B1 shows I recall as a kid.
The F-35 is such a beast! I feel sorry for potential future enemies! 😜🇺🇸

I was at the great Texas air show back in April with my sister, these F35s.......... I didn't wanna wear any hearing protection cuz I wanted to hear the raw power of the planes there but, I kinda wish I did with the f35. Honestly surprised I didn't go deaf every time it flew past
I live in Fort Worth.
When an F35 leaves the factory it's escorted by F16s. They're a mere shadow compared to the roar the 35.
People underestimated how fast these things are. If it has to make enough thrust to hover, imagine what it could do going forward
That high bypass fan means this puppy has a faster zero to mach than an F-16 😳
wot?
I would hope so, being it's 30 years newer and costs 10x that of a f-16....
Yep, from what I understand it has excellent acceleration along with a decent sustained turn rate and similar slow speed maneuverability to a hornet, making it good in the one-circle dogfight as well as the two-circle dogfight.

The F-35 and F-22 are amazing jets.
BAD To the BONES
The engineering behind this is amazingly complex!
Shissssshhhh
Two f22s went over my house once and I ran to the window just as the cruised over head. The windows were shaking, my chest felt heavy, it was crazy.
F35 is the most capable jet fighter ever devised and the most versatile, not just years ahead of the competition but decades
I could look at those shock diamonds for days
I've never seen an Afterburner more clear than this
F-35 is so F'n loud compared to previous jets like the F-18
no... this is because it is using afterburners for an airshow.
It is quite a lot louder in general
@@n3v3rforgott3n9he's talking about when both are using burner in the same setting, at an airshow.
I can confirm his findings. Hell, this year at EAA there were direct back to back flights of a super hornet, and then an F-35. Both single jet displays. Even being the super hornet, and having 2 engines, the 35 is quite noticeably louder on burner.
@@evangalinsky2499 you know a single engine jet would be louder right...
Few days ago we had 4 of these fly over us, twice, in Tattershall UK, they were low, and I mean low!! An Air field was down the road, the noise is unreal, no words can describe how loud they are, we were physically vibrating as was our caravan, absolutely insane, beautiful jets, my hair stood on end !! utterly amazing pieces of aviation design, stunning engines too, the maneuvers were beyond, my brain was exploding with excitement ( I'm an aviation geek and this made my holiday )
Its Crazy how those Massive legs fits in the slim body perfectly
That sounded weird
I live near Luke Air Force base where F-35s fly overhead between Luke and the Barry Goldwater test range all day long and though you get used to the sound you will never ignore it, it shakes the earth.
I could just feel that POWER !!!!
Beautiful American air power nothing sweeter.

Absolute masterpiece of engineering. Amazing! I dont think most of you understand the importance of our fighter jets. They deserve respect and so do the pilots.
I actually got to tour the F135 engine plant and when the exhaust doors are open you’ll hear it for miles. It literally tears the air up.
Incredible aircraft and pilot.
This just demonstrates how talented and skilled you are at piano as this seems like a very difficult tune.
Gotta be quick on the gear handle in the -35! Max gear speed comes real quick!!
Then on the brake even quicker before the tail falls off. 🙄🙄

The biggest thing I miss about my ex, probably the only thing!😂, is going to all the air shows. We were both in the military and loved watching these fighters! Always a great time. My parents used to take me to see the Blue Angels when I was a kid and I’ve been hooked ever since!
Nice footage!!!
God made hornets and wasps, man made F-35s. It’s an unfortunate situation when you run into both and are the enemy.

Im sure it was a site to see in person . But i think imo the loudest most gut punching jet ive seen perform at an airshow was none other that the f14 Tomcat. Bro when it was half throttle bankn 180 . The sheer power of that fckn thing . Ill never forget it. No knock to the f35 or f22 as far as performance .
Fun fact: military aviators often refer to the F-35 as the “fat kid in a magic suit,” due to it’s poor maneuverability, top speed, and range and yet highly advanced computer technology relative to other gen 5 aircraft like the F-22. -edited for y'all in the replies ;)
I don't know where you base your claim that the F35 is less maneuverable or that what you say is just a lie. Did you know that the F16 pilots had to remove the bombs and auxiliary fuel tanks and only kept the air-to-air missiles? Is it possible to defeat an F35 carrying a full load of weapons in a military exercise?
"people in the military" is sooo wide a statement. What do the actual pilots think?
@@WowCreativeUsername People in the military being my dad (an actual pilot with experience in both the Navy and Air National Gaurd) as well as others who've I've talked to. I was writing my comment kinda just spur of the moment and wasn't too specific
@@TamLanNguyen-fd8ud Poor maneuverability relative to the F-22 which has thrust vectoring, super cruise, longer range, higher top speed, etc... Also according to my dad (who is a military aviator who flew F/A - 18 Supers, T-6's, KC-135's...among others) an F-16 would smoke an F-35 in a traditional dogfight.
GANGSTER engine
Imagine an f35 commanding a squadron of f22s. Everyone within 100 miles air and ground are getting mopped.
I thought the F-18 was loud but this is a whole different level.
I love our American jets! As much as I like the new ones, the F16 will always be a favorite, as its profile just reminds me of an older 911 Carrera, or something along those lines!
I was driving on the road directly next to the airport with an F-35 taking off for the Seafair. I rolled all my windows down to see if I could hear anything. Then i started to hear something. It got louder and louder faster until it I was forced to cover my ears. After it took off everything seeemed so silent and my head was ringing. If i had to compare, id say it was louder than all 6 blue Angels. I knkw thwt sounds crazy but even im not sure how it sounds so terrifying loud. And i listen to a lot of loud music on my thousands of watt sound system and it doesnt even come close to the loudness of an F-35
How many g's do you think the pilot pulled there?
My son in law flies the F-35a lightning in Alaska. It’s a badass plane. Most advanced in the world. Too bad it’s a one seater because I’d love to take a ride with my son!!!
The loudest airplane i ever heard, was Eurofighter Typhoon. When it was flying very slow, almost gliding (about 100m from where i was), it was loud as standing 2m from a train. When F16 flew by quite fast, it wasnt nearly as loud as Typhoon.
What is the exit temp on AB? What is the G on point that it is turning over, hope that he/she didn't have a heavy meal before!😊
