Your going to want to adjust the spring tension on the pedals. I would recommend making 3/4 full tightness. Also, if you still feel like you need a more powerful hit, then just make the length of the beaters longer. Hope that helps, let me know if you need anything else explained.
The zoom in on the Cobra Coil *@ the 2:09... (well between the 2:08~2:10 mark(ers) looks, (if paused) like a black stereo cassette with a silver reel spindle out of orientation, admittedly I noticed it initially as I was frame jumping forward, but, was confused by it, as the screen was frozen for those few moments as the feed changes and buffers, thinking it was a retro themed cut screen wherein the camera is panned in tight on a black cassette tape *with no label, in the deck of a portable boom box, obviously because the doors on them, most often, have those clear viewing windows on them so you can observe the progress from reel to reel...
You like 'em so far? and as for the Cobra coil, I believe it comes standard with the Power Glide model, i'm not sure about the Rolling Glide though. Did you get 'em new?
Most likely because your legs are used to a different pedal. I would just build up strength in my legs by playing consistently on faster and faster speeds (with a metronome). By the time you get really fast, you're legs will be used to playing with the pedals on previous speeds. Also, make sure your pedals are set up in a way that feels the most comfortable playing slower to mid-tempo stuff on. It will be easier to gradually gain natural speed and still keep the power.
The Cobra Coil will make the pedal board come back faster, if you play with medium to loose tension, then the Cobra Coils will be ideal for you. If you play to tight, then it will be more difficult to push down the board, and you loose power as well.
I can’t adjust my beater position independently on my cobra 600s. Even if I use my Alex wrench to try to do adjustments it will not loosen. Any suggestions?
$80? That's good, I got mine for $180 used, they're a great double pedal, not pristine for going extreme speeds though, great for up tempo power beats, i'm thinking about getting the speed cobras.
hey dude im not a big guy and i wanna play some fast double bass, like dream theaters nightmare to remember(he uses these pedals)..but for some reason i feel that the pedals are just too heavy....any tips? thanks :)
I set my spring tension to max and it still doesn't feel right... Is the Iron Cobra just generally a loose pedal? I picked one up from Gumtree second hand, kinda regretting it now as I prefer a tighter kick drum feel.
Commit Hey, if the springs you got aren't tight enough for your personal taste. You can always get tighter springs and switch them out. They're very inexpensive and easy to find. I hope this helps
KrothDrums Thanks for your response! Nice idea. I'm a new drummer and all these mechanics are elementary to me. What springs would you recommend? I found an "OK" fix for the meantime. Basically I raised the pedal board more, which added a bit of 'resistance' to the feel. Also I only just realised that the Iron Cobra double pedal I bought off Gumtree does not contain the "Cobra coil" mechanism. Wondering if it would be worth investing in getting a cobra coil separately? What do you think? Does it really add a big improvement to the pedal for a beginner like me?
Thank you for making this video! I was a bit confused when I first got mine but all my doubts are clearing themselves now. Thank you!
Just got a set a month ago.experimenting with adjustments..sick video man..cheers!
Dude, this video helped a ton. When I got mine there wasn't a manual. Thanks a ton bro.
Thanks so much! I knew most of it from trial and error but it helped a lot. I bought mine used and I didn't get a manual
No problem man, when I got mine there were no videos that just got right to the point on how to do stuff. Thanks for watchin.

Can I add cobra coils to the 2nd generation of this pedal? (The one with the square cutout on the baseplate) I've been told yes but not how.
Hammer Hammer Hammer Hammer !
Dude, what's the model of that batter you use on the pearl?

iron cobras are heavy pedals. max springs tension should feel tight indeed. definitely not loose.
