Notice how his whole attitude, his facial expression etc... changes the moment he realizes he is a sinner and deserves punishment, suddenly he loses the smile, and gets very defensive and non-believing. That is the reason why people claim to not believe, because of their sins. They don't want that punishment, but they don't want to change, so the solution is to not believe, problem solved. Or so they think.
People don't want to accept God because they don't want any moral accountability, so they instead say there is no proof. Creation is proof. They talk about how malevolent he is to make an excuse for not wanting anything to do with him, and so much more. How about rather than trying to run away from the truth, seek it. You will find it but you hardened your hearts. Humble yourselves, he's there waiting. 😊
It's Velocity! He caught me once when I fell off a building. He's so nice. He even biked me all the way to the hospital to make sure I was okay. No one knows his real name though.
Timothy Wayne- That’s what’s wrong with this world is that to many people love their sins and don’t want to acknowledge that they need God in their lives!
I have seen that look, too. They don't accept it as truth but they struggle for just a moment when they hear it because they have to face the "what if it IS true" question. But I love that he left him with saying "just think about it today" (paraphrased).
Yes 66 books written by over 40 authors over thousands of years and telling a integrated message. The odds of that being random is the definition of absurd. 1/10 to -50. The Bible is the cannon of truth!
And through all these thousands of years and many authors, not... one... contradiction! Also, the bible is known for being extremely reliable, so much so, that it predicted the Hittite (I think that's who it was anyhow) before they were discovered. People used to mock the bible because it mentioned a race of people that no evidence had ever been found to show they existed... that is... until about a century after the people mocked the bible and the race talked about was actually discovered, proving the bible's accuracy. It predicted Alexander the Great, the Greco-Macedonian empire and how it would split, the Roman empire etc. It's the ONLY religious document that perfectly describes our history and future which has been proven (and used by archaeologists because of the accuracy). It's also why the Christian religion is the one true religion (and I am not talking about the Roman Catholics who do not obey the bible).
hahahah good on you man, his heart was convicted, God love him, your a very funny guy, and bring the gospel in a care free funny abrupt way, that is good it is our job to tell them, not to convince them. we plant, God makes it grow
I would say that the fact Todd shared the good news is a big act of compassion. Hugging someone to hell is not an act of compassion but of selfishness. It would e like giving the drug addict more strong drugs just so he is content rather than imploring the addict get help. Many addicts became addicts for a reason which stems from hurt.
This Guy strikes me as someone who has heard, through what I don't know, the Gospel to an extent but has never been asked the final question. I do hope he thought about it. I hope he trusted Christ.
I didn't say anything about hugging someone to death! Just show the same grace that Jesus did during his time on earth, He is the one and only Shepard and I will take Jesus's word on how to minister to others and what compassion is! And I do appreciate Todd he is a great man
I pray Todd reads these comments.. I really feel moved to say that Todd needs to show more compassion, b/c we live in a world of hurting people who became non-believers for a reason or simply they have just been taught wrong!
I noticed something, body language of the man being confronted with the bible. At the start he is solid but goes into a shift side to side motion, there is another creature in the bible that does this "the snake". Who will lead you today, self, neighbour, peer or denial. Or will you stand on a rock. Will you reach for God?
I was not trying to provide evidence....only sharing my experience and my opinion. If you've got more than 30 years experience dealing with drug addicts then go ahead and enlighten me.
No. He is as many of us who think freely, and think this line of questioning, is a railroaded conversation. Don't confuse the annoyance as conviction, You are only deceiving yourself.
as we continue to dive into the topic, I think it would be helpful to better understand our viewpoint. Do you believe God could have chosen a different way for us to be forgiven (other than Jesus dying on the cross) and still remained the God that is described in the Bible. In other words, do you believe the death of Jesus was necessary in and of itself, or it was only necessary because it was the means of grace God had chosen?
"just/merciful" or both?" Yes, that's exactly what's seen in the parable of the unforgiving servant(even though I'm aware a parable doesn't explain all, as there's no mention of a sacrifice here). The King forgave the debt of the servant mercifully as he begged, and then when he did not forgive another--his debt was re-installed. This is a parable that truly contradicts your view of it being paid. If it was paid, the King would have no right to re-install the debt that was paid.
"I believe in the universe of all things" he says. The most non-committal belief system there is. It's as simple as this: when you do not address or confront or acknowledge your sin for what it is, and your need for a savior, you cannot get past GO.
Christians do not believe Jesus ever suffered in hell, but we do believe He experienced God's wrath on the cross (My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?) and that His suffering wasn't finished on the cross until He had drank the full cup of God's wrath (John 18:11 and 19:30)
"God and science are not always enemies" Like the time Joshua asked god to get the sun & moon to halt in the sky to win a battle.. Totally legit. How fast does the Earth spin in miles per hour, again?
EntinludeX and jwissick are those type of people who don't understand it. Something had to have happened to them to make them so hateful towards God to the point where they TRY to fight against there being a God. They fail, but they try. We have talked to them all we can, they are the ones lying to themselves, keeping themselves away from the love of God and going down the path to Hell. We have done all we could, it's up to them to open their blind eyes. Love you two dudes, and love y'all. Peace
He did show compassion, we cannot go easy. Did you even understand the parable that Jesus spoke of? The farmer? Mark 13. Some wont ever believe the word, some will be scared, some will take it and toss it, some will just never hear it, some will take the word and live it for a little while, some will always live it.
You can see how the God is knocking on the door of his heart, in how he is acting uncomfortable when he is speaking to him. The truth is there but he is suppressing the truth.
In Romans 3:26, God is called the Just and the justifier. In human courts would you call a judge who allowed criminals to go free "just" or "merciful" or both? I have not completely conceeded the "cup of God's wrath" idea or the "why have You forsaken me" idea yet; as I believe those are only fully understood when someone already grasps the idea of propitiation (fine payment). So I want to start with what justice is before we go any farther.
Let's start over. Answer a few simple questions: why should Man believe in God, the bible or its contents? Why should Man believe in ONLY christianity? As a former atheist & clearly Mr.know-it-all, these should be easy softball questions to answer.
I had to deal with this at one of my past jobs and i ask WHYYYYY. Jesus died for you and me for sins and not to many people believe in God so again Whyyyy. I tried witnessing to someone with a hard heart. It is tough.
It is not the animals blood that takes away sins (Heb 10:4). So all the OT sacrifices point to Jesus' sacrifice. In regards to Jesus sacrifice, the terms "blood", "Death", and "sacrifice" are used interchangeable. It is not Jesus' blood per say, but what it represents.

When the men who edited the bible decided to keep the passage about the prediction of jesus' death, how many prophecies did they edit out of the final draft that turned out to be wrong?
Yes, it is a pardon, that's what forgiveness is... it's a pardon. You just proved my point in saying it cannot be the same, showing you know it's not possible. If I was a banker, and you owed me on your house and I called your debt, and someone else paid your debt---I wouldn't turn to you and claim you're forgiven your debt. it's not forgiveness, it was paid.. but if I called your debt and you couldn't pay and said I forgive your debt and released it---THAT is forgiveness, what God does.
well, if you don't want this to be an argument citing specific Scripture but based instead on your word "I tell you the truth this is what scripture teaches" then we are at an impasse.
I did not say Jesus went to hell, I said Jesus experienced the full cup of God's wrath. There is a big difference between the two statements. By "fine" I simply mean punishment/recompense/payment. As far as God "getting His money", thats why I believe in limited atonement -- Jesus only died for those God chose in eternity past. Otherwise your argument would be a valid one.
What? Which verses are you biasing that from? Read Matthews 26:47-56. Notice in vers 53, Jesus says to His disciple that He needs no man to save Him from the guards. If He wanted to, He could call on the Father and send a legend of angels to rescue Him. Instead, vrs 54 says that He choose to surrender Himself in order to fulfill the will of the Father as recorded in the scriptures (scriptures like Isaiah 53).
Sounds like you don't much about drug addiction either. This is something I have a lifetime of experience in unfortunately. Tax dollars NEVER helped my heroine addict father get his methadone. He asked for help over and over again but never go it. My mom worked her fingers to the bone so my dad could get treatment. They lost everything. And..taking the drugs away from an addict is the best first step.
.. suffering, we see that from Isaiah 53, and the garden, He was overbearingly sorrowful, and almost ready to die from sorrow. God had to sustain Him to make it to the cross, did you not notice in Psalm 22, and from John's gospel(blood and water from the side piercing)---Jesus died of a broken heart(Psalm 69:19-20, Psalm 22:14) from rejection of His people, and ultimately the world. I agree with the shadows and animal sacrifices I believe, but point is that God was just to His laws.
John 10:17 Therefore does my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 NO MAN takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. 19There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.
Imagine you're a dad and you have several children. You provide for them. You give them food and water. You give them clothes. You put a roof over their head. You take care of all their needs. And those children absolutely hate you. They refuse to acknowledge you. They don't read any of your text messages telling them you love them. They constantly tell you how much they don't believe in you they have no faith in you. But yet they love everything that you provide for them. They love all the food and water, they love the house they're living in. But yet they hate you and at the same time don't even believe in you. And then on top of that, they go around thinking and also telling people that all the stuff you provide for them just appeared out of nowhere. It wasn't Dad that provided everything it just randomly popped up out of nowhere. That's what it's like when you don't believe in Father God.
I find that Calvinists(and those who hold your view) take a worldly use of the word, and then impose your meaning on it from Roman debts being paid with a stamp. A debt can be forgiven also, the word just means "fulfilled, accomplished"--you'd be reading into it to say it must mean "paid"--especially in light of Scripture. That's an outright logical fallacy of etymology(and almost equivocation) to take the worldly use of it and impose it on the text that says nothing about that.
Man Todd is such an inspiration! A true evangelist and disciple of Christ! God bless you brother

+Neil Roy I did notice the same thing. Awesome huh?
Faye
I hope he does someday repent though and start believing. Seems like an otherwise nice guy.
As a nonbeliever, I disagree. I don't believe because there is no reason to believe. It has nothing to do with my sins.
There is plenty of reason to believe...
pieter fischer what is the reason?
This guy clearly knows the gospel, but simply refuses to acknowledge it.
Haha Velocity is being convicted...he's not comfortable...he knows the truth
Indeed.

I love you, Todd. Tough evangelism with some jokes in there. Good stuff.
I pray that super hero Repents.
Todd Friel, you're a good man. I love your solid preaching. Keep it up!
If you told Todd he’s a good man, he’d disagree!
None are good.
People mood change when you present the gospel correctly lol love Todd
I love Mr Velocity, good heart on him, God bless you my friend :)
May God bless you forever Mr. Todd friel. May God bless you forever.

Praise God for His Glorious Gospel. Praying for that seed to get lodged in velocitys heart and the Lord to grant him repentance
I like this Guy. Keep on wining people To Jesus man.. And i love that he didnt force it on him. he throw the seed out and went his way. Amen

"The check is in the mail" and a few others too. Most of the script Todd used in this video too for that matter.
Lol that uncomfortable. Pray for him ppl he will be saved.
This one might be a tough case. :(
Can one arbitrarily forgive a debt (without payment) and in doing so be both just and merciful?
