Love Dr. Becky Kennedy! For the first 8 years of my marriage, I found that if I asked my husband something like “can you move this to the garage,” he would take his time and get to it later. But if I asked him “Do you think you’re strong enough to move this?” He would hurriedly get up to move it with near excitement to show his strength. That worked until I let him in on it so we could use it on our son. “We have guests coming over, but I bet it’s not enough time for most people to clean this room. Do you think you could?” It works well ;-)

how would you frame more boring, regular tasks like doing the dishes?

This can def be seen as manipulation. But I love it and have def used this technique before on men I dated lolz

@@theplaylister I would find a way to turn it into a challenge by adding a short time frame (better with the kids), or give him a compliment before hand on how I appreciate so much that he always does things (like the dishes) when needed, and not every wife/mom is so lucky :)-

15:35 yes! Open the conversation with your kid and get to that deep report building stage. To me that’s really “gazing” in and taking interest. Kids are an extension of us!

Hello Dr.Kennedy and Tim, I am loving this interview as I saw it come up this morning. I would love to further connect with either one of you. My book, “Mental Toughness for Teen Athletes, Post COVID-19” has been out on Amazon since August and I feel a true connection with Dr. Kennedy with a great deal of the values she is espousing. I am ordering her book right now and thank you for your expertise!

Yes. yes. yes..when Tim Ferriss and Ramit start to have families this will blow the roof of their podcasts. They think they are killing it now. Wait until they add a wife and kids. Next. next . Next level of optimization

Office jobs are lowkey depressing, the same 9-5, same co-workers, lack of fresh air, lack of productivity, driving home in the same car, same streets. Everything gets repetitive and depressing.

1:20:00 Tim mentioning "drugs" is hilarious given his self-experimentation with supplements and his pretty intense involvement with psychedelics.

Well I wouldn't lift my kid off the couch, I would move the nearby table, put some pillows around the couch and leave my kid jumping. Dr. Kennedy doesn't sound like much fun

I agree! Moms that are fun with their kids are much less stressed and so are their kids! I think she creates problems where they don’t even exist.

To sum it up; are parents supposed to ask for sorry for their spoiled brats? From my point of view, it's the perfect way to raise Monsters!

Come on guys! Have you ever been on a plane? A real sturdy pilot usually says something you'll never be able to decipher - it's like he's reading a doctor's handwriting! 😅

Aren't you taking away the kid's accountability for their actions? It seems selfish and not a good strategy for the long run

Everyone on postcast, talk a bit more slower please. 🙏🏻
When I was a kid all told me how fast I talked, fast talk probably means fast mind, but slow down please, no where to hurry. ❤
