Nice to see a DIY tool/opion for the very spcific job! The all-thread trick is pretty neat. Are you able to put the pucks in from the oposite side of the cam journals so sliding the all thread in would pull he puck to the journal instaed of pulling them out?
yes and no. 2, 3, and 4 could be installed from the other direction but if you did that with 5 it would pull the #5 bearing out as it pulled the #1 bearing in.

Also, when installing the cam first, set the block on the rear (bellhousing) face then gravity helps install the cam.
On the bench like in the video that makes a lot of sense. Probably more effort than I would want to do it it was already on the engine stand.

I used a homemade slide hammer and the deep freeze.
Lots of ways to get it done 😁
