I thought how strange a word to describe her, elderly is not even one of the descriptive words that came to my mind while watching this.
Aryeh Finklestein she was 81! She was born in 1904 not 1908. Many actresses falsified their birth years back then for the studios because of ageism. After her death her records revealed she was born in 1904.

During the filming of Mrs. Miniver, Greer Garson was having an off camera affair with her much younger co-star who played her son. This did not go down well with MGM, and they did everything to try and keep this secret. She was indeed a beautiful woman.
