Look at our beautiful city ... love Johnny's walks because I get to see areas and events I wouldn't normally get to being a westender. Excellent work J!

Good morning Johnny! Fantastic video with your iPhone 15 Pro Max! The quality in 4K 60 looks way better with the iPhone. Hope everyone has a great Saturday! Cheers!
That's an awesome video. The iPhone smokes the DJI in dynamic range. With DJI I thought it was a cloudy day on the 12:47 mark but with the iPhone you see at 12:57 the clouds are broken. iPhone is better especially with the log function and the blackmagic camera app. DJI has one advantage it is very discreet. DJI needs an update IMO. Great video. Thank you Johnny.
I still prefer the DJI for being more discreet but the out of the camera experience is def better on the iPhone in terms of overall quality. The DJI's auto ISO, White Balance and Focus (which I need to leave on as the conditions change so much) aren't dialed in anywhere near as well as the iPhone out of the box. The Action 4 looks great so hopefully that carries over to the Pocket 3.
The iPhone sharpness is overblown, and appears to introduce more artifacts around objects and jittering when in motion. Actually a visible downgrade when viewed on a tv screen in 4k compared to the DJI. I realise these may not be as visible for viewers on smaller screens like phones or laptops.
Interesting video. Seems to me that there are pros and cons to both cameras. Not a big Apple fan, but can't deny that the picture quality on the I Phone is superior. Wondering how it will perform during rain or snow walks.
While the picture is better on the iPhone I like the smaller camera because it's more discreet. There are definitely times in videos that you walk by someone and they don't see the camera where they would have seen the phone. It makes the walks more realistic, IMO.
iPhone as others have already said. Also, you picked a great day to do the comparison as far as those long range shots of the Toronto skyline show, the clouds add nicely to the shot.
I prefer the IPhone 15 Pro for sure, you can pause during the video at any point and it stays sharp and focused, but with the pocket 2 unless the bitrate is very high will have blurring.
An interesting walk through an older neighbourhood. I know you favour higher density housing, but I must admit that I enjoy seeing the urban texture provided by the contrast with older areas.
I've been watching your videos for the last 4 years or so and the IPhone definitely the best in terms of resolution, sharpness and color rendition. In terms of practicality, that is obviously for you to decide. I am a photographer and have profesional grade equipment and am really impressed by the IPhone color rendition and sharpness. Great video
Hey Johnny, Congrats. on the new iPhone. I think the low light/night video, is the best of all smart phones. Its ability to see in the dark is amazing. Very little crushed blacks or blown highlights. The only issue I see in some videos are artifacts. Could be over sharpening or compression settings. To get the most out of it. You are going to have to learn the many different settings. Apple has good user forums and the many tutorials on UA-cam to help.
I personally would use the DGI Pocket 2. It is excellent but doesn't have quite the 'color' quality of the iPhone 15. The discreetness of the Pocket is a great feature as well. Either way it was surely a beautiful day and the east end Asian neighborhood was so amazing to see the mini open markets. You could tell there were many elderly people that food shop here also...TY
In action mode there is a noticeable drop in resolution. Also a very noticeable drop in resolution when you use digital zoom. This is true of all digital zooms on all smartphones or digital cameras. However with the regular zoom and gimbal resolution and clarity are excellent.
Thanks for letting us see the comparison shots. I don't have the best vision, and even I could clearly see the iphone just killed the competition in delivering color, sharpness, brightness, and shading. Like someone else here said, in your simple side-by-side shot alone, the cloud & sky color showed a marked difference. Everything was better. This tech is seriously impressive! Now if only they can make it smaller, like your first one.
I think iPhone does better than DJI pocket. You mentioned at one point about not being able to switch to .5x. There appears to be an issue with the camera app that when you start recording in 4k60 you cannot change lens. So your range is limited to whatever lens you start on. Dunno if this is a bug or by design

outstanding video employing a compare /contrast mode ...well done...

Nice walk. I fondly remember the very old street cars, going from Main station to Gerrard Square or to this old Chinatown. So much has changed!

Observed same problem and made comment and was berated for it! Not great with big screen play.

Nice Walk Johnny
There’s a cute white DJI pocket 2 that I have my eyes on. But is $495 US dollars so I’m not sure about that price lol..
The Blackmagic Camera App is a wonder in many ways

I do too!

Can the software processing of the camera's video be called the goodness of the camera?

I think if you want more practical and more convenience you have to wait for DJI Pocket 3. I hope it release this year.

I prefer the discreetness for sure!
Nice. Still prefer my Nikon for pictures and video. Just personal preference. Other Photopunks use their phones and thats okay.
Good morning everyone Vivian, sheena, Marge , jellie Bean
hey mate, do you have any video showing the ongoing construction of the Riu Plaza urban line in Toronto? It will open in 2024 I think.
Good morning Jhonny

Buongiorno from Italy....actually it seems you placed the device on a stroller....if so...congrats

The I Phone is much better in regards to resolution and sharpness than the DJ pocket..
Looks like the action mode still uses the main lens for zooming, as when you zoomed it was digital zoom
Yeah that seems to be the case!
iPhone is way better for video ... should have got Pro Max lol.
Hi
Hands down for the iphone. IMO its the best camera out there.
Too bad its brittle and easy to break
Go leafs
