Nightcat exists in the same void of necessity that spawns characters like Waluigi. Waluigi exists because Wario needed a doubles partner for tennis, Nightcat exists because arena mode needed a player 4. Nightcat and Waluigi are kindred in this regard, lost souls adrift in a world that only ever needs them incidentally, novelty placeholder playthings to be callously discarded after their expiration date. Whether you are Nightcat, Waluigi, Sisyphus, or the Itsy Bitsy Spider, your efforts are in vain and your merits will not be recognized. The rain is coming little slugcat, wahaha.
Nightcat's efforts aren't in vain anymore, it seems like the Nightcat survived a whole year with the rain and is coming back to the game after 7 years of bad luck. I'm assuming he broke a mirror (which is actually pretty fitting because black cats are also considered as symbols of bad luck) the day the game released and kept getting rejected, but in the 7th anniversary his 7 years of bad luck were finally over, and he was finally accepted into the "slugcats with a campaign" club.
Actually Nightcat and Inv/Enot are the same Slugcat. If you beat Inv campaign and play the dating sim a line of dialogue with spear master reveals this with Inv saying "I know how it feels to be nerfed. I mean they removed me from arena mode!!!"

If you want to find out about more cut content you should read through the entire devlog. It's really long, but there's a ton of cool stuff in there that never made it.
There’s a bit more cut content from downpour now, like the mushroom threat theme layer, pit spider thing in riv, and prolly some more if you look (that’s all I remember 🤷)! Scavs in the base gamer were originally meant to glide, and there are many assets in the files of hologram things the overseers were supposed to show (but didn’t ig) you depicting strange creatures! There was originally (according to the game sfx library) supposed to be a kraken entity but I think that was translated into the leviathan, though the kraken sounds were never used. Great work on the editing and trasnitions, although it seemed a bit slow 🤔. Nice work anyways :)❤

@@bobby-mccool oh yea that's supposed to be the overseers in Metropolis basically showing you the same advertisements they're supposed to show to the Ancients since well, you're technically Pebbles' Citizen in Artificer. There's loads more holograms of items we've seen the ancients use, such as the bandages they wrapped themselves in, the masks and the drones they had, and even a few pics of five pebbles endorsing five pebbsi!

Downpour has a lot of cool cut content. Yeeks were going to be a lot more complex, and they still have code from before they were simplified. Yeeks were honestly done dirty by Akupara.

I walk around not really knowing what to do Scavs fought something like a lizard or vulture so their spears fell One spear fell into the tunnel for non slugcat creatures The spear pops out and starts flying up and down kinda like a batfly but much smoother It kinda floats near me then it flies up into idk where Then when i come back to that room after a few cycle circles i see it fly down then fly up for the last time Should've grabbed it

This video lacks a lot of information, and that would be fine if not for the fact that %80 of the video is random filler clips that could have been replaced by actual information. You even missed things about things you actually mentioned. A brain tree is in the background of the outer expanse, and 9th slugcat is indeed the nightcat as in a dialogue option in the dating sim it talks about being removed from arena mode. And a nightcat like slugcat can be seen in gourmands ending. So its nowhere near cut. Suburban isnt really even cut content to the point where outskirts is literally called SU (guess what it stands for) in the games files. Also pointing out slugcats made for alpha showcases "cut content"" is extremely cheap.

No, inv is not the same as nightcat. Inv was only removed from arena mode because of different reasons.
