@@rolandhoward9412 I have the reference 130.23.39.21.03.001 and it wears perfectly on my wrist. Embarrassingly, i'm not sure about what my wrist size is haha.
Hey Teddy - sorry to be a year late to this video, but my vote for the most underrated Orient is the Orient Star Mechanical Contemporary RE-AU0005L or RE-AUOOO4B. For some reason, nobody on UA-cam mentions these watches (both of which I own and really enjoy) and for under $500, they will give your SARX a run for its money. 38.5mm, 100m water resistant, sapphire glass, hands that extend all the way out to the seconds and hour markers and really subtle and beautiful finishing, they really do deserve more attention. There is also a white dial variant that easily rivals the SARB35. Perhaps it is because they are not sold by Orient USA, but they are readily available from reputable sellers overseas. Definitely worth checking out and deserving of more attention. Love your content and presentation style. Thank you for all that you do!
Excellent idea, excellent video Teddy. Keep it up! Loved that Hamilton, Omega, Rolex and JLC probably the two biggest surprises and quite good ones. And the Tudor and it’s arrange of multiple dial sizes, gives plenty of choices.
Totally same here, only I've got them 5 in my collection already but videos from Teddy, Watchfinder and TGV got me really into watches and appreciate what I wear -details, heritage, horology etc.
the orient monach is a great mention, teddy. this elegant watch was not known to me until now. i dislike hand-wound watches due to the invisibility of when i need to wind it. the nice power meter at 12’s straights this all up😊
Excellent video Teddy and some models I have never heard of. Love thin watches so the JLC really hits the mark, who knows one day when everybody has forgotten about it perhaps?!
Thank you for mentioning the Tudor 1926. With the general comments I see about it on forums, I think it is a really nice, versatile watch that's always under the shadow of the Black Bay series.
I personally do not like Rolex, it's not because I hate the brand, because I hate how famous they are, the community, nothing like that. I simply don't like the designs. Hm... Maybe I don't like the designs because I've seen them way too many times? I don't know, they're just not my cup of tea. With this said... The Cellini? My god. It's like in my top 3 dress watches, it's absolutely gorgeous (the newer models). Glad you mentioned it.
Finally! The Seiko Sarx045 is probably my favourite model from the lower end to mid range Seiko lines. Worth mentioning that it's a domestic Japan market watch which sucks cause you can't go and try it out before buying it, and that's the reason why I'm debating with myself wether I should buy it or not for quite a while now. I just don't know how it'll fit my wrist :/ To me, the sarx045 is the ultimate alternative to the Omega Aqua Terra or the Tag Heuer Carrera Caliber 5 if you want to save money and enjoy a wonderful watch. Would really like to see a full review of it soon. Congrats.
Enjoyed the video; particularly the fact that it covered a broad range of price points. And I really liked that you included the Cellini. I can't afford it, but (unlike the typical Rolex) I think it has a somewhat understated elegance to it.
I think TAG in general can be underrated in the watch community but especially the Aquaracer. It's a great looking and different dive watch in an industry where everyone else seems to be making some flavor of the Rolex Submariner.
Agreed, not to mention the brands incredible accuracy for chronographs and their cool ties to motorsport. A lot of snobs just look down at TAG because they use ETA movements a lot, and so what? So does Omega, Brietling, Panerai, and nobody complains. Aside from that, Tag Heuer has some insanely cool Haute Horology and conceptual pieces as well in their high end ranges, with their own in house movements as well. Another point they like to rip on is the fact that Tag bought the rights to the base of a movement from Seiko, again so what? Because they're still producing the movement, and Seiko has designed some very reliable and good movements. I personally love Tag Heuer, it's a brand that's close to my heart, since I was a kid I always thought they where so call and always wanted one, I now own one of their vintage F1s that I use as a beater, I'm looking at getting an Autavia or Monaco from them next. :)
Tissot Gentleman. They have one with a gold (not plated) bezel on a leather strap. Looks great. And I've always loved the Globe master, plus new movements are METAS cert and anti magnetic.
Saved this to favourites. Nice job. I love the watch content, but great men’s fashion videos are hard to come by. You and Courtney seem to have a natural flare for it. Keep up the awesome work.
Owner of a Hamilton Valiant, so underrated but I almost feel stupid that I didnt get one of there other models cuz no one EVER talks about it. I have no one to share my love of it with cuz no ones even heard of it! haha. Also love the Cellini, I think the reason no ones talks about it is the price. Im in love with the rose gold model but its insanely overpriced at $19,000 here in Canada. I can get a moonphase JLC ultra thin in rose gold (grail watch) for $5000 less.
The Orient Bambino joke... ha... ha... thanks for adding a little bit of humor to your very straightforward, no nonsense videos. I really liked the Tudor 1926 you showed here and am thinking of getting a 39mm or 41mm version of it. Thanks Teddy!
When I think of Hamilton, I think of one time my grandmother showed me her dads antique automatic Hamilton auto watch. And he had worn that watch so much, that the case back of it had two holes in it because it was worn down. He literally wore it so much he wore holes in the back metal of it.
why the regular date is the same thickness ... jlc ... could make their watches much better .. they have almost made it with sector dial ( the chrono is maazing ) but not there yet
Thanks Teddy! I like your reviews. We do have similar taste in watches, but I am not a yuppie(If that even exists anymore). Yes, do give the SARX045 a good going over! I have one. I have a love and neutral feel for it. Sometimes I think it is amazing especially under certain lighting. I like to call it the "Nissan GTR" of watches. The sharp angles and corners give a real sport look. The H link bracelet is extraordinary. It is one of the best I've seen from Seiko. It is exciting and dynamic in its reflection of light. Watch versatility is fine to dress up or down. I think this watch sometime satisfies my Grand Seiko (GS) itch, which is constant. I am at the point where I need a GS. However, like GS, I think the SARX045 is art on the wrist. Seiko is no joke when it comes to crafting a katana for the wrist. The finishing I think is at or close to GS level. On the downside, I think the dial and the logo are too big and the blue could be deeper in color. I was confused when I received it. The blue in other reviews under studio lights looks extremely blue but in the flesh looks less blue. When I first received the watch I thought I may have received the SARX047 by mistake. It was really confusing. In any event, yes, do the review. Overall, I think the watch is a winner, but mixed on it being a keeper. When I do get a GS, this watch will probably go. But, in the meantime she is a sweet cookie. Thanks again!
@@TeddyBaldassarre I found that I can dress this watch up or down. I changed the strap to a rustic brown so it looks like the Hamilton Spirit of Liberty. The watch for me has that classic look.
Hi Teddy, I love the look of the Rolex Cellini, but it is out of my price range. But the Tudor 1926 is also stunning and one I could save up for. Thank you for the suggestion!
My first automatic was the Seiko Superior, it's large, sits tall, then they added a bund strap to make it taller lol. Even for its awkwardness it's a great outdoors watch, unfortunately it was discontinued about 5 or so years ago and I have never seen anyone review or even mention it.
Nice review, I've worn a 10 year old Timex Ironman digital watch in my job in the construction industry in all weathers and it's taken a severe hammering evident by the damage and scarring done to the case and strap. And it still keeps good time, I swear by it . G-shock by Casio ? Too bulky and prone to be hit by something, forget it. Wouldn't be at all suitable . Slightly off topic I know.
On the one hand I agree with you about the Rolex Cellini - which, by the way, I love - but, on the other, used prices are still *way* up there. I look from time to time because I'd love a Cellini as a dress watch, but the prices are almost as crazy as every other Rolex model. One day, maybe. For now I'm thinking maybe an Omega Constellation F300 from the 70s, because I'd love a watch with the Accutron movement, dressed up with a leather strap will probably cover me: just need to find the right one.
I think one of the most underrated watches from Hamilton is anything from their Broadway line. Their dial design is extremely appealing, in my opinion, with a thick colored line down the center of the dial. The reason I believe people skip over these watches is because of the size and movement. Their reasonably sized 40mm watches are quartz and their automatics are 42mm. No one likes quartz anymore and people are gravitating towards smaller watches. But if you feel comfortable with a 42mm dress watch or don't mind quartz then you should really check out their Broadway line.
@@TeddyBaldassarre I'm totally a value junkie. 3 great watches for the cost of 1 "Big Namer" is defiantly way more intriguing to me at this point. Always, subject to change as time goes by
I think the Cellini is overlooked because of the price for what you get. On the JLC, I don’t quite know how that is overlooked. It stands pretty loud at ADs. It’s not a reverso, but it still is pretty fantastic and out there.
I still like the gent's Constellation in 38mm. It reminds me of a time and place that is long gone- NYC in the 1980s and 1990s, and I can pull it off. For the price, it's not a good idea, since I don't have the wardrobe to support one on anything more than a one or two times per week basis. I may buy a 27mm variant for someone. She deserves nice things and the thought that accompanies that gift.
Haha when you said the Orient Bambino, I was like "WUUUUT, not again!?" Nice gotcha :D That JLC looks tremendous. My pick would be the Grand Seiko SBGJ201 Hi-Beat GMT. Everybody (rightfully) talks about the Snowflake, but this one just blows my mind. Cheers!
Could you share your thoughts on two tone yellow gold as a style? Where it was, where it is now, where you think it might possibly go. eg. two tone datejust, sub or GMT
I think one of the issues with a brand being known for a certain watch, and other brands being known for other watches. Is that you can buy a style of watch from a brand that's known for that watch. Instead of buying into a single brand buying one of each of their different styles of watch. All Rolex, all omega, all Tudor etc.
Congratulations on reaching your goal. I hope the channel gives you a nice chunk of change every month. All my kids are youtubers so I am familiar with the business. Two of their channels have over 5 million subs. If you are ever in LA I will show you around Hi 5 studios and we can have a beer.
You should do a video on some of the Rolex oyster precision models. Very over looked and you can get them for under $1500 sometimes. I got my Oysterdate Precision 6694 for $1450 and it’s beautiful. It’s 34mm case is proportioned very well and it still looks good.
Nice man! I been looking at some as well, I can't decide if I want to go with a vintage oyster precision, Tag Heuer Monaco or an Omega Constellation. Too many options for such an indesicive person.😂
The issue with the Cellini line in my opinion is the price. It is precious metal so that makes it expensive and most people who can just barely make their way into Rolex (which is many) could easily go for a mlre affordable OP or DJ and throw it on a leather strap and get nearly the same effect for less. Also those models are more recognizable. So the Cellini stands in a rare spot.
So weird that the Globemaster is so underrated, it's not like Omega hide them away there are normally huge images of it in every boutique, although they did dump Eddie Redmayne as it's ambassador after his initial defence of Spacey.

So weird that the Globemaster is so underrated, it's not like Omega hide them away there are normally huge images of it in every boutique, although they did dump Eddie Redmayne as it's ambassador after his initial defence of Spacey.
I want to buy a vintage watch from a reputable swiss brand like Omega, Longines or Tissot.
Some vintage models are very underated!
Thats a sharp looking seiko!
