Thank you! I'll have to look her up. I'm pretty sure there was a late 1860s crochet slipper from Petersons Magazine but I haven't looked for it in ages. That would certainly be quicker than Berlin wool work. Thanks for giving me that idea!
After hearing you list all the clothes I'm thinking you either live in a huge old fancy shmasy mansion or have a massive warehouse that's used as huge wardrobe. It would be interesting to see house you store everything if you haven't shown it before
I live in a decent sized home. It's a 1800 square foot 1940s vintage farmhouse. It's considered small/average in America, but large in other parts of the world. I have everything of my historic wardrobe in one closet (not a walk in-just a regular sized closet), 2 fabric bin dressers (that are about to go away because of space issues), and 6 totes that are stored under a bed. I show a most of the storage in this video: ua-cam.com/video/AQLe479JEz4/v-deo.html.
Oh, and I do keep all my cotton dresses in a family trunk from the 1880s. I think it holds about 10 cotton dresses and wrappers but I haven't counted in a while. To save space in the closet, each hanger has 2-3 dresses on it which helps me fit more clothes in the closet.
The Buttons on all my American Duchess shoes pop off its SOOOO annoying. I have a pair of Reniors and I have a pair of Travistocks (not as big of a fan of the Travistocks but eh.)
I'm so glad it's not just me! They're one of the few companies making historical shoes for women so I feel bad bashing them on the channel, but I really have had some issues with them. There has got to be tiny little razors on the shanks of those buttons because even with upholstery leather weight linen thread that has been heavily waxed, they pop right off. I do not understand it. I'm about to go find myself some antique stock buttons and replace them all.
@@KatelynKearns The shanks on my buttons look like they have gone through a war. I thought it was just me because I had to move my buttons in so that they would fit better. I think the metal the buttons are made of are just not as good as the metal Victorians used. I think if I am going to invest in new boots again I will have to get lace ups. (I also HATE buttoning my boots. ROFL)
@@celticgoddess81 I hate buttoning boots, too! I think I'd hate it less with good buttons that didn't break off, but buttoning buttons is a particular aversion of mine.
Happy Thanksgiving/Black Friday 😅 I'm thankful for your fabulous channel 🌽 🦃 🇺🇸
Happy Thanksgivng and Black Friday! I'm thankful that people actually watch my videos and find them interesting!
Miss Philomena here on UA-cam has a video series on Crocheted Victorian Slippers! :) I have made a few pairs they are lovely.

@ thanks I’ll check out the link. I was hoping you lived in a massive 100 room mansion or had a normal house with a secret volt under it. 🤣
@@Lea-bw9wj Oh, I wish I had that kind of space!
