This is definitely the best chase of all time. Apart from the use of pyrotechnics, like during the highway pileup 3:07 and DAF truck crash at 6:20, it feels so realistic and gritty.
The worst case of street rage I've ever seen was in Paris. Someone's car stalled at green light, and the guy behind it came up to beat the poor driver.
Apparently he's actually in the car with a dummy steering wheel and the car is actually right hand drive with a le mans racing driver behind the real wheel, I don't think he's actually acting either 😂
Why a Puegot 406? They're so weak. "0-60 mph 7.2 seconds 0-100 kph 7.8 seconds Quarter mile 17.4 s @ 98 mph Top speed 235 kph / 146 mph Curb weight 1433 kilograms (3159 pounds)" I drive a 1994 Toyota, and I bet I could smoke it.
@@BlueJDMMR2 It was brand new model these days. It wouldn't be a shock if Peugeot paid for using that car in the movie, so they could show that it can keep up with BMW. Hell, even whole Taxi series is in fact 406 commercial
totally awesome. awesome enough to ignore the huge continuity issues... (An M5 until it rolls, dash dials do then don't work, different police cars, Audi sound in the peugeot etc etc etc...)
And some smaller ones as well - the red Xantia that crashes near the end has British plates, but (i) is LHD, (ii) doesn't have a GB sticker (as it would have been then) and (iii) carries a plate that predates the Xantia's launch by about three years. (It was carrying the plates originally carried by one of the BMWs)
The most noticeable one - just because of its relative size - is the Range Rover that they drive past twice around the 6-minute mark. Then you notice that on both occasions it's being followed by a Lancia Delta and a Citroën Xantia.
Ronin car chases must be in the top three of all movies. Not sped up but filmed at normal speed. The stunt drivers must have been mental. Don't you just love Robert De Niro's face when driving, he looks a bit constipated 😖I've driven down those street at normal speed. Look at the making of Ronin car chases it's crazy.
James OBoyle non threatening if you're not used to hearing them... They would say the same about the ones we have here in the US... I love how Grigor only puts his seat belt on once they start driving the wrong way on the highway.
This is definitely the best chase of all time.
Other than McElhone being stunningly beautiful I like how she conveys exhaustion as the chase drags on.
This car chase is iconic.
Totally unrealistic that so many drivers would be following the rules of the road in France

The one thing I always loved about this car chase is De Niro shitting his pants, it's so realistic.

Ronin, one of my favorite movies, excellent car chase. Beautiful women driving the b.m.w, thanks for the view.
I freaking love this film, but as a BMW fella, it really hurts to see the crash.
Love the variety of cars

I prefer BMW than Peugeot
0:32 Valid point
Now that’s how to film a car chase. I’ve seen enough CGI cartoon car chases depicting impossible manoeuvres.
*List of cars:*
1. BMW 535i [E34] (1994)
2. Peugeot 406 (1997)
What about that Citroen ZX police car that briefly joined the chase?

I always wondered how that Peugeot kept up with BMW... 😁
Not to mention the same Peugeot 306 is seen in the chase a lot of times
There was also a red Peugeot 406 that could be seen a few times. You mainly see it when it gets rear ended by a blue Citroen Saxo or Peugeot 106.

Nissan Patrol and Renault Twingo are used several times
There's also a white Peugeot 306 with black bumpers that crashes twice.

It was then we realized that these shitty little Renaults just werent going to cut it for police work anymore.
Funny cause that ain't a Renault it's a Citroen Zx

At least one of the camera cars was also a Porsche.
Wow what a chase

God, Natasha McElhone was so beautiful. Probably still is.

Moscow, Russia
Unbelievable how they could destroy several BMWs for this crap, and the BMW had even a real bad made rollover scene
The BMWs they use are 518i and 535i (535i for chase , 518i for crash)
Also hands down this is a good chase
Great chase. But from 4:10 on, it copies the chase from To Live And Die In L.A.
It also uses the M5 in some parts of the chase
This is the best car chase ever put to film, so I'd say that it was worth it.
