Dauntless turned into one of those games where I get on to get a cool exclusive cosmetic and get off. It’s fun with friends but it’s boring. Cool game, but it can use more options.
no? if you add new "options" the game gets worse because old players will do those new options, while the new players will feel overwhelmed and won't play that happened a lot to videogames dauntless might have had trouble balancing low / high level content but it doesn't need more options it needs "better" options
@@LetrollerIGNtroll I actually disagree, since you can make those new options available later in the game(keeping early game simple). And don't forget adding new options doesn't imply forgetting about the old ones.(looking at reapers dance special still hitting the air). The problem is that currently the Dev team isn't fixing the "big" bugs that exist in the game or adding meaningful content. so every update just feels boring to play. Hopefully that will change next update. Btw sorry for my english(not a native)
dw about the english I got it anyways fixing reaper's bug is pretty much impossible because there's more than 1 thing that causes the bug radiant esca will be "meaningfull content" hopefully
@@LetrollerIGNtroll Just because you as a new player feel overwhelmed doesnt mean every new player will. Seeing a lot of content as a new player tells them theres a lot of stuff to do at any point in the game, instead of just beating up some embermanes and skarns. Theres a difference between adding a ton of pointless content and adding actual things to do at each advancing tier in the game.
The summer when umbral escalation released was probably the most fun i’ve had playing Dauntless. The half life iceborne builds were everywhere and the insane amps just made grinding escalation so fun
Honestly I had so much fun when playing blaze escalation and umbral. Everyone was so friendly and we were so hyped. I wish we could go back onto those days, PRIME DAUNTLESS
it's such a shame that dauntless doesn't capitalise on what it has. I remember hearing distant promises of shy fishing, pets, reworked fauna, gates. All these amazing sounding features yet they eventually faded away into non exitance. don't get me wrong I love getting new escalations and weapon reworks but at the end of the day it's just more of the same. I wanted to experience new features.
bruh sky fishing, pets, fauna, gates... these don't add ANYTHING it might be fun for a few days and cute (pets) but like what are you going to do with that? it's not like a lot more people will join just cuz pets also the bow is meant to release in late 2023 or 2024 it's a new weapon was never meant to be released back then anyways, it was just a fun idea "the community" came up with
For me Dauntless has the same issue as Warframe does where the devs think its a masterful idea to nerf fun stuff to the ground in a PVE game. Where your supposed to be overpowered because you but the time in your build and minimaxed the shit out of it.
Nerfing the fun stuff is definitely annoying but warframe at least has a decent amount of content and story to play through before/along with the mind numbing stuff. Dauntless gets through stuff really fast and with the nerfing bigger damage perks/amps they take away the "main" fun of reaching higher numbers.
@@matt2986 honestly i thought they should do a campaign for dauntless where you have to not only deal with rampaging Behemoths but actually put in Ostian Triumvate (i believe that was the secret organization was called) and you have to fight through their newly made abominations of Behemoths while destroying their facility.
RIP Catchmoon, 1600 steam hours and I still daily log and love the hell out of that game but I don't play atm. Stuck in lost ark and it's giving me warframe vibes from the gameplay loop. Loving it!
@@AkantorCZ i dont know what goes behind the scenes on why they nerf PvE but i dot have to say they probably are seeing something that i will never see in terms on the info they receive each month/week. as long as it doesnt impact the game in a negative way and doesnt ruin my fun i will still love dauntless
I genuinly think they could make the game by capitalizing on escalation, because the only bad part about escalation is, that it has to be over after 5 rounds, especially when you have a sick amp combination. So just make them longer, or even better make them infinite with crazy ass amps and a keystone behemoth every ten levels and the behemoth get faster and stronger but you also get faster and stronger. So just make it a roguelike.
@@LetrollerIGNtrollThat does sound destined for nerfs though. You get one strong amp combo (or the virulent impact oneshotitus) and then you just FARM infinitely. It's rare to get the Op combos, especially after they got nerfed too, but PHXlabs sees one dude running the mode for an hour, just going kaboom on the Behemoths, and they pull out the nerf bat.
I remember how much I loved Dauntless how happy I was to get my crown. And loved watching Dough and Revy (even playing with Rev). I absolutely agree with your post friend 😎
I really miss old dauntless lol. I definitely had the most fun when umbral escalation first came out, but a lot of changes like reforging, hunting grounds, and the cell rework made the game a lot more complicated and different to the point it doesn't feel the same anymore. I really want to like dauntless but I just can't play it like I used to. Just give me my 50% life builds and op virulent impact and I'll like it way more
so you like mindlessly hitting something while knowing you won't die because you have broken lifesteal? or having a passive 20% damage from disc+wild frenzy? that's broken though like think about conduit or molten anything gives AS BUT they had conditions old IB just was half health=neverdie
I have a bit of hope for the game getting revitalized with R-Esca, Escalation was definitely the best content this game ever had and it's still insane to me they stopped doing it after Frost. If I was PHX I would've been so desperate to cling on to Escalation I would've squeezed out a damn Neutral one too and then just started making new elements solely as an excuse for a new Escalation
well well well, funny seeing you here lol. I think dauntless should just be pumping out more escalations, they should honestly do repeat elements but make them longer and harder and with a new keystone behemoth, with much stronger amps. This way its not the stressful feeling of a heroic where you just get one shot but its also not as easy as a normal. And they should male the keystone behemoth something huge and menacing that draws in more poeple just becuase of how sick it looks. And the amps should be broken as shit imo, but the behemoths would scale with these amps so that when you hit for 150k on a axe throw it doesnt insta kill. Also the amps should not be able to be brought into other escas to keep each esca unique. This is just an idea that i think would bring more people into the game. Also bring back old chains blades. and imo fuck omnicells. They made the build variation go down with everyone running the same copy paste discipline build with the occasional revenent. Also whats ur dauntless name i want to add you.
@@_sus_. I agree with the Keystone thing, I kind of wish they were all larger and more connected with the map itself similar to Agarus. Behemoths usually don't get more hp though they get more power which gives more damage resistance so a 150k axe throw would still kill a lot of the strongest things but it's just way harder to get to that number. I agree with brining back old Chainblades. Disagreed with Omnicells though, Omnicells were by far my favorite change that was done since I started playing, when I saw them in the test server I thought they'd be terrible and I was hating every day leading up to the patch but man they all feel amazing to me. I don't get how someone can dislike them, Discipline saved the game for me and although I like Revenant less at least it looks super sick.
@@ThePikeOfDestiny my disliking for them is becuase now i feel i’m so forced to run certain cells with certain omnicells to have a good build. i was a little dramatic because i do still like them and i LOVE my revenant hammer build but eh to each their own. also i was just kinda throwing numbers around with the 150k axe throw lol. that is hella dmg and i don’t know how the health mechanics work on behemoths, but i think longer runs with more fun amps would be very cool
I remember when Dauntless just came out it was one of the first games I started playing when I got my computer, It was so fun I had a great time but eventually it got stale. But I'm going to get back into the game soon since a few friends of mine wanted to try it out I hade great memories of this game. Thanks for the Video
The day I made it into the game by getting my voice into the main theme was one of the happiest and saddest days of my life. Happy because a game I loved since alpha I got to become a part of, sad because it was no longer the game I fell in love with and I had no desire to play anymore . I wanted raid level behemoths that encouraged clans to come together. More behemoths more progression. What we got was stuff losing the war of attrition that was the hook that got me into the game. Infuriating content that we could beat but wasn’t fun. Reforge was one of the first final nails in the coffin for me. I don’t want to fight weak ass behemoths i have beat for years weaker than they were before and just boring compared to their superior versions. Dauntless both got too casual for the hardcore players and focused too much on what they thought the hardcore players wanted instead of what we repeatedly told them we wanted. I wanted the feeling I had fighting shrowd back in the alpha/beta days but with more and more teamwork. Not the shit show it became. Stuff like iceborne were the start of the issues, combined with one shots and random bullshit modifiers or poorly telegraphed mechanics. Shrowd to this day is the best fight they ever made. Completely fair and had cool mechanics. I watched you and revvy for years and it seemed we all shared similar gripes. I know revvy wanted raids as well. This game could of been so much more and it makes me sad what it became.
THIS. When I reforged thinking my weapon level would stay the same I'd just get that buff and I realized shortly after I couldn't fight behemoths like shroud or at least challenging but fun behemoths I was so mad. I do not want to fight a lesser drask, or a level 3 boreus, I just don't. Not fun, not rewarding.
For me the game kinda died because of the combination of an really agonizing reforge, which you can never complete like you could with maxing out every new amor set, which was the way before. Next is the hunting grounds. A very cool idea in concept but if the behemoths are just this push over you go from on to the other it keeps getting boring. Before with the patrols and selected hunts it was just you or your team against one set behemoth which could wipe you of the map fairly easily. Now dying means nothing anymore, before you either lost and start again or slay this thing. The behemoths have undergone a big inflation of their impact, from the sole event of the hunt to just one relatively quick instance. And finally the attack speed nerf. Some weapons just need a certain amount of attack speed to feel good. Repeaters is the best when it feels like a maschnine gun, the hits have no impact otherwise. It goes peng peng peng normally and pewpewpewpew with the speed, big difference. And there is no option for BOOM BOOM BOOM you just don't feel it. What the devs should do in my opinion is to bring back patrols and hunts and look at what the players like more.
attack speed nerf? it got buffed though? we lost wild frenzy cuz that was broken but base AS on weapons got increased wild frenzy was broken cuz it gave attack speed without needing to activate anything get old discipline and you have a passive AS kinda broken to me
you have just summed up my two biggest reasons for not enjoying the game anymore. 1) I'm a pike main, but i've spent months without playing with the pike because i was trying to reach that fucking "10 reforge" with every weapon, and it is not fun. You also remembered me that maxing/crafting every gear was what moved me to keep farming. 2) I remember the fear of trying reza/shrowd when they were the hardest the game could get, hunting grounds removed that. We were really punished for missplaying, now we can just do everything braindead. Maybe new content could be as simple as : creating new behemoths and/or weapon modifiers.
@@victorhelliott for real man , you remember the 100% danger meter being more common before? now with hunting ground , I rarely see it goes to 100% because there's a lot of player on the same instants so we never get punish that much for missplaying just like you said. We still can experience it when playing heroic esca or trials but that was not for casual like me (especially trial ,to much modifier to my liking). But man , I really miss the feeling of doing patrol with random squad and get fucked by reza or shrowd and get max danger level with most of the squad mate down with no revive so it was either you who can finish the job or the rando who last man alive kill the behemoth while other cheering in chat , that was fun time.
@@banzik070 omg that bring back my memories,im the one who done the jobs when we patrol team meet the "evolved"embermane, they all just chilling at ground talking whats dinner for...
@@vocas964I know right?! With how to hunting ground are right now ,it was so convenient to farm material and make newbies experience more forgiving but we all know that "something" was missing.
maybe it was fun but think about it what if you had that for another 2 years? since it would still be the most broken thing would you have had fun playing for 1-2 year more with the same build every time ? because that's what would have happened
also imma be honest i was one of those who just stayed at level 55/70 on cod. I didn't see the point in prestige even on that game which is way less impactful when you do it. I'd watch review videos for sure.
I still have Dough linked in my “Support A Creator” tab of the Dauntless store for all my purchases. My way of saying thank you for all the guides & info I’ve used from you 👍
That video with you one shotting behemoths was the main thing that got me back into Dauntless for a couple weeks, and im sure im not alone. Escalation was the bestt
I had a lot of fun when “story missions” were a thing. When they swapped to open world progression I lost a lot the fun I had with it because there was no longer a fun goal or any goal other than make number bigger and reset
I feel like the reason alot of people left (mainly vets) was them nerfing everything and making the game more grounded like MH. I felt like the reforge system could have been a been a attempt to spicy the game up but it just turned into 24/7 grinding
What they are doing now is just cosmetic after cosmetic instead of putting something in the game that could make it fun again. The most fun there was where the first escalation, I stopped playing 1.1k hours and haven't touched the game since. I hope the devs give us back the crazy damage from back then but that may never happen with what they are doing to the game now
People started Dauntless because it was more like MH. And then it changed. Also MH Rise is definitely not "grounded" it's more like Dauntless with it's flashiness but way more hyper.
I allways thought dauntless as a secoundary game that i play when i get mad or bored bcs my main game updates are shit. Im still having fun tho. I havent played for a year and a half and i was so sad to see that the rewards were the same when i left. They added the lumen escalation and some new behemoths but honestly i kinda wanted some more stuff. Some cool stuffs.
The sad part was escalations had no meaning once you get to lvl 25 so heres my idea on how to fix it. Once your maxed out on an escalation you keep any excess aether gathered as an item collect enough of that item you can make a special aetherheart for only that element on weapons Example I would do a shock escalation and since I am maxed out I keep the shock aether and I go to the reforge bin and trade the shock aether for a shock aetherheart and use it to power surge any of my shock weapons.
the half-life, Iceborne build/Sword speed glitch ( even tho I only got one day to use it ) was the most fun I've had on this game. Now I've probably only played it like 3-4 times within the last year
but that was breaking the game basically you could hit without dodging or giving a fuck you could literally read a book and have an autoclicker press heavy and easy kill
That's PvE focused games for you. They live and die from content. When Gearbox develops a Borderlands game, they make it with the expectation that players will eventually burn out, leave due to frustrations of balancing/bugs, or quit because there's no more new content. But that's fine with Gearbox because they already made their profit. They'll just go dark for another 4 years, come out with another sequel, and make profit again. But when you have a live service PvE game like Dauntless or Warframe, there's no sequel to fall back on. You're just trying to keep your game alive, knowing that inevitably players will burn out or run out of things to do. There's no way a developer can update their game with content, faster than their hardcore audience will burn through content. And when you have a smaller team like Dauntless, they have to rush half baked updates and lackluster content in order to just get something out, because players have nothing to do and are falling off by the thousands. Warframe has a bigger team and budget and even they get content droughts and players that leave due to rushed content, from time to time. Live service PvE games is a huge risk for developers and it's honestly a miracle that Dauntless even survived this long.
@@AimbotFreak ummm, I don't think people in general are going to ever agree on a whole on what is fun. That's subjective. But you have too look deeper and ask why these live service games are making people not have fun. Are they not having fun because there's no more content? Not having fun because it's buggy? Or are they not having fun because it's too grindy? Or is it balancing? You have to ask why they are not having fun. And if you do ask why players are leaving due to the lack of fun, 9 times out of ten the answer boils down to one of those reasons I've listed above. And if it's because of any of those reasons, it's typically directly related to the fact that it's a live service PvE that has to keep their players engaged, but but they don't have the luxury or time to do it properly, thus their game becomes "unfun." And that just wraps back around to my initial point. It's the nature of live service PvE games.
My friends and I recently picked dauntless back up after not playing since season1. I would say there's been a ton of good changes since then, but over the timeframe of not seeing all the changes step by step, I can see where you'd fall off easily. Even now I'm almost at the point where I'm getting bored again. I agree the reforge system is kind of dumb, having to go back to one just to get weak again for the ever so slight bonus offered afterwords is not worth it at all. They need to add something else I just don't know what
I don’t remember the last time I had fun playing this game, it’s only grinding fighting the same enemy over and over again until you can craft the next tier of armor, then rinse and repeat till you stop playing it
The prestige system and progression changes killed the game for me as well as the hunt rework, the whole kill until you cant kill anymore just doesn’t feel right in a game like this. The old hunt system wasn’t perfect either but at least to me it didn’t begin to feel monotonous as quickly.
100% casual player, loved the fact me and my friends could just chill. Never even reforged bc bump that, and stopped playing when I couldn't get crazy damage in escalation also. Nailed it.
They also did the repeaters dirty. You used to have a simple interchangeable weapon you upgrade every so often, now you have 50+ guns to grind and upgrade. AND THEY REMOPVED THE PRISIMS! THOSE WERE FUN!
What happened to Dauntless? What happened is that Dauntless was simply looked forwards to by people who wanted Monster Hunter on something that wasn't on a portable console, as soon as Monster Hunter World got announced on all platforms hype and the only reason to play the game died and the devs probably didn't feel like it was worth investing more effort into it.
I feel like the dauntless devs should add a mode were you become the monster and you can fight your freinds and have EVEN MORE FUN. I think this is a good idea in my opinion
They could also add a dungeon crawler type of levels that changes structure everytime you enter, with many trash mobs (I think they call them fauna) Bloodborne and Diablo has this, it will be good for a change.
I remember when I always used to play with you and Revvy when Dauntless was first getting started but when Trials came out I kinda lost interest in the game. When I saw the route the game was headed I knew it was time to find something else.
I've put 50 days of playtime into the game before reforge... I got top 5 many many times and played way too much. I also had a baby account with maybe 20 hours of playtime. Both accounts had max weapon masteries, quests, etc. The main had everything 100% maxed, while the baby just had mysteries at 20 and the good weapons at 15. After reforge, both accounts were at the same progression. Because of the new prestige system, I was no longer viable to compete weekly. Which at that point of the game, was all I did. I quit a couple weeks after reforge hit and haven't play since. Plus I heard "The Dauntless" isn't nearly as difficult to get, which is sad, but also surprisingly metaphorical. Always good to see an OhDough video still
?-? I'm honestly confused if you have a good old account you would get aetherhearts, since the game gave more according to armor and weapon levels so the higher level your weapons / armor were the more hearts you got so wdym they got reseted
@@LetrollerIGNtroll The main did get more! But at first the amount they gave out for progress was abysmal. They eventually updated it and gave out more because everyone rightfully complained, but I had already quit by then. Plus, more aetherhearts doesn't make one account more competitive, both accounts were able to get the main gear used to the max.
Im genuenly sad foe what happened after they added Umbral esca...After that point the games career became a divebomb..Playing since beta made me develop a honest love for this game that slowly faded away as the devs lost the sight of what the game was..Hope they somehow see the bad things they did and will try to make up for them and make them better.
You should jump on the monster hunter bandwagon. World has been played to death, but there’s plenty of room for Rise content and with Sunbreak around the corner you can take advantage of the surge in searches. You’re pretty good at explaining how builds work in dauntless, you’d probably be fun to watch for builds in MH.
It's been so long since I last played dauntless. More than a year now, and I don't think I'll ever go back. I joined when it released and I stayed until Frost escalation, where things started to go downhill. It was the most fun I've had in the game, and post reforged was really when I stopped. I gave a lot tho, and had tons of fun. I even made a wiki page, although it was taken over by the moderators and completely changed... (it's the weapon UE page, for those that are curious). I'll cherish the time I spent with Dauntless, but I'll never go back. I will lurk in the background tho, always watching...
I hated reforge so much because all my armour and weapon cells were +1. I grinded so much for the items to upgrade my stuff and it's just wasn't worth it at that point
but they changed it because it was too broken you could literally get an autoclicker and occasionaly change where you're aiming and the game would play for itself you wouldn't die cuz IB was too broken
One more problem: in the past we've got just 1 hunt pass, for both platinum and new armor set. Now we have 2 seperated hunt pass: 1 for platinum, and 1 for armor set :)
Dauntless was my sit when it dropped on the console. But they lost me when they took away the ability to make low life builds. Iceborn, wild frenzy, discipline, rage, it was these mods that made the game fun because of your ability to downright strip a behemoth in a matter of seconds........I miss the good ol' days.
As a long timer play of Dauntless, I'd like it if they added raid style monsters that more than 4 players join. Where you could get different items to craft better gear and continue leveling up.
I was STARTING to get back into Dauntless because they added the healing omnicell but then they did this STUPID thing with the hunt passes and making you pay separately for them and breaking it it all up when what they promised us was "We're going to make the huntpasses permanent once you buy them". I KNEW they were going to screw it up I just KNEW it but I didn't think they were going to screw it up THAT badly. It sucked out EVERY bit of excitement I had after they already ruined my favorite weapons (chainblades) and made one of the most uncontrollable irritating healing systems known to man but at least it was SOMETHING I liked, and then they pulled that and I haven't touched the game since. I want to, I LOVE my guild they are amazing, but every time I think about the game I just get irritated and can't bring myself to play it again.
I feel you. The Chainblades "rework" was what made me quit. I love all weapons but CBs where the most fun for me, so once they were ruined I uninstalled and didn't look back.
@@Balambambuny Same, so same. I was a chainblades main. How could you take the awesome kusarigama effects away from us which felt like dancing, being able to hit from far away or close up...and come on CHAIN blades and you took away the chains!
Used to watch your channel all the time back in the day when I still played Dauntless I'm an old school founder for the game and I really enjoyed my time in it but man if you haven't yet I do really recommend giving Monster Hunter Rise a shot and its big ol Xpac drops on the 30th of June I haven't looked back myself. Hope you find something that brings you success joy.
You have got SUCH a good point, old bean! Just imagine what you could do with a game like this? 1. A Beast that lives in the Caves which is guarded by the hive, 2 mini-bosses & then the main fight chamber would be good. 2. The Upgrade system just like you said needs adjusting. 3. There needs to be MUCH more resources to collect which requires teamwork like DRG. 4. Get this on the Desktop App! 5. Create the ability to Dominate creatures in a certain game type where you PVP or PVE 6. A Story co-op game would be appreciated. etc. The game dev team seem to be fresh out of inspired ideas. It's a shame because it's a good concept but it just becomes repetitive fast & very grindy in trying to mine resources.
For me the biggest turn off was when reforged brought all these huge changes so quickly, I miss the old patrols where you could hunt singular monsters and actually track them down Instead of just going from one monster to the other. I really wish they had kept it and just made it a separate hunting option.
This is the same thing that turned me away. I was an alpha player who stopped playing after finishing progression when shrowd/rezakiri were added. I came back to the game expecting similar gameplay with more content, but instead was met with a completely different game that I just didnt enjoy.
This game has amazing potential but it feels like the devs aren't putting enough care into the game like worldbuilding or the content to support that, what hooked me was the game had a world which giant beasts roamed a world of floating island inhabited with people flying airships and using magic but the only cutscene they have in the ENTIRE GAME is one at the very start of the game...
Honestly I still play 30 minutes a day on average but I'm Still working through escalations and such I'm very close to true end game Please bring the old school amps back I so agree with that loved old school impact
When the hunting grounds update I stopped playing because they added aetherhearts and you couldn’t upgrade your weapons or armor without having to max out your weapon EVERY SINGLE TIME you upgraded something
I still have my post notifications on for you dough still here supporting you dauntless is a dying game but you won't be a dying creator if you need to re hash your brand for the sake of your channel do it bro people that been subbed to you for this long will still back you up ong
I remember old dauntless and how happy I was to get the exotics but putting in all that work. Now we gotta do stupid tasks to get them. I started getting tired of the game when reforged came out and they added that prestige system. Maybe if dauntless catered to the casual and endgame players I would come back to it. Been playing the game since the beginning and reforged killed my love for it. Knowing that my builds were gone and had to continously lvl up my weapons to be more powerful is time consuming because you would be doing the same thing over and over again.
For me, what made me finally drop dauntless was aetherhearts. They took way too long to get, you needed way too many for anything and they pale in comparison to just upgrading your armor and weapons with actual behemoth parts before them. I liked the level by level upgrades more cause it made me feel like I was working for it, not making a weapon and immediately being able to max it out if I have rams and an aetherheart. As a someone who's more of a compleationist and enjoyed 100% games, I wanted to max out all of my weapons and armor, this would have taken eons with how they changed everything to aetherhearts. Dauntless was a fun game but its just too grindy now for me to have fun anymore.
I want: 1: Insane mode. More of a challenge or something. 2: Infinite escalation, bosses appear after the same amount of rounds and supplies can be replenished after a keystone. Amps go up and up and so does behemoth power. 3: I want to be able to run hunts. Hunt one strong behemoth like a trial but better, like kill quests. 4: Add more combos. 5: Add more ways to get crazy damage, especially endgame. This is just a bit of what would be nice in the game.
my old laptop cant handle vindictus anymore, so i found dauntless, its like a easier version of vindictus, with less weapons, but a little similar. I love dauntless still, but prefer to be able to play vindictus again.
i think the addition of radiant escalation has made the game more enjoyable, except the fact that the final radiant boss, the Chronovore, isn't that hard to beat
Dauntless basically did this: Live by the F2P, Die by the F2P. not saying F2P games are bad, but if you dont consistently produce some form of content for your playerbase, it will dry up and die
but we are getting content it's content that's easy to farm though like new behemoths or new esca that's content it's just content that won't last a season
For someone that played dauntless for a week or two (lol). It took me 3 days to reforge and get to to level 20 again. unlocked most of the things. and realised i was heading towards the optimizing for end game part of the game for the hardest escalations. But looking at rewards i realised thats the ceiling. If i beat the heroic escalation i get a fukn crown and the game is over... i got close to the end game in 4 days and felt the need to slow down. This game is 3 years old....
I'm a player from Southeast Asia and the Torgadoro patch destroyed my sanity because everytime I start a hunt or end a hunt, I always gets thrown in an infinite loading screen then it will kick me out of the game. Its super annoying af man. Then months later, the terra escalation was released, tried it and it still throws me to an infinite loading screens. I'm not the only one who experienced it and I think it affected SEA players the most.
I really miss old Dauntless, iceborn was the best cell that kept me alive in every hunt. Hunting grounds and progress-reset system are too complicated... literally destroyed my interest to this game.
What if i told you that a guy on reddit came up with the idea of an arena mode and pretty much 1:1 of what that guy said, trials was released about 3 or 4 months later. I feel like they didn't plan the future of the game ahead and don't know what this game is really supposed to be.
i remember in COD mw3 when you prestige you could unlock 1 weapon when you used prestige i was first like: why would i reset my level i lose all my items. but my friend was like: you get profile borders and a cooler flare. DOPAMINE RUSH GOES BRRRRR
Back before this reforge system came out, dauntless was golden when we would load up to kill a single behemoth man those fights were honestly the best ugh....
Dauntless turned into one of those games where I get on to get a cool exclusive cosmetic and get off. It’s fun with friends but it’s boring. Cool game, but it can use more options.
no?
if you add new "options"
the game gets worse
because old players will do those new options, while the new players will feel overwhelmed and won't play
that happened a lot to videogames
dauntless might have had trouble balancing low / high level content but it doesn't need more options
it needs "better" options
@@LetrollerIGNtroll I actually disagree, since you can make those new options available later in the game(keeping early game simple). And don't forget adding new options doesn't imply forgetting about the old ones.(looking at reapers dance special still hitting the air). The problem is that currently the Dev team isn't fixing the "big" bugs that exist in the game or adding meaningful content. so every update just feels boring to play. Hopefully that will change next update. Btw sorry for my english(not a native)

@@LetrollerIGNtroll Just because you as a new player feel overwhelmed doesnt mean every new player will. Seeing a lot of content as a new player tells them theres a lot of stuff to do at any point in the game, instead of just beating up some embermanes and skarns. The summer when umbral escalation released was probably the most fun i’ve had playing Dauntless. The half life iceborne builds were everywhere and the insane amps just made grinding escalation so fun
Trueeeeeeeee umbral escalation was peak dauntless for me 🙅🏾♂️
That was around when I left for monster hunter rise. I played Terra escalation too, though.
Honestly I had so much fun when playing blaze escalation and umbral. Everyone was so friendly and we were so hyped. I wish we could go back onto those days, PRIME DAUNTLESS
the iceborn meta was the peak of dauntless
💯
it's such a shame that dauntless doesn't capitalise on what it has.
Yeah or the bow do you remember that, i sure don't it's been months without a word...

these don't add ANYTHING
it might be fun for a few days

So just make it a roguelike.
infinite "escalation" or something similar is on the roadmap btw
basically you get fights, and it gets harder each round
infinitely
*I think*
That would be a nice change of pace
great concept, sounds like so much fun, phx labs don't like fun though
@@LetrollerIGNtrollThat does sound destined for nerfs though.
You get one strong amp combo (or the virulent impact oneshotitus) and then you just FARM infinitely. It's rare to get the Op combos, especially after they got nerfed too, but PHXlabs sees one dude running the mode for an hour, just going kaboom on the Behemoths, and they pull out the nerf bat.
@@justascarecrow6988 not if behemoths get a 10% compounding HP buff after every fight past 5 for example

Same bro new dountless isnt good
I have a bit of hope for the game getting revitalized with R-Esca, Escalation was definitely the best content this game ever had and it's still insane to me they stopped doing it after Frost.
Also whats ur dauntless name i want to add you.
well
if you really want esca to be hard
just make OP amps
but do x10 health to the behe every time you pick one
there
happy?
@@_sus_. also yeah it's kind of an insane coincidence you saw me here and on the brawlhalla channel in such a short period of time
@@ThePikeOfDestiny my disliking for them is becuase now i feel i’m so forced to run certain cells with certain omnicells to have a good build. i was a little dramatic because i do still like them and i LOVE my revenant hammer build but eh to each their own. also i was just kinda throwing numbers around with the 150k axe throw lol. that is hella dmg and i don’t know how the health mechanics work on behemoths, but i think longer runs with more fun amps would be very cool
Short answer : the same thing that happen with Paragon.
What the devs should do in my opinion is to bring back patrols and hunts and look at what the players like more.
attack speed nerf?
it got buffed though?
we lost wild frenzy cuz that was broken
but base AS on weapons got increased
wild frenzy was broken cuz it gave attack speed without needing to activate anything
get old discipline and you have a passive AS
kinda broken to me
you have just summed up my two biggest reasons for not enjoying the game anymore.

It is and always will be appreciated. Thank you 🤝
That video with you one shotting behemoths was the main thing that got me back into Dauntless for a couple weeks, and im sure im not alone. Escalation was the bestt
Dauntless was just the game you played while waiting for monster hunter world to come out.

Once your maxed out on an escalation you keep any excess aether gathered as an item collect enough of that item you can make a special aetherheart for only that element on weapons
Example I would do a shock escalation and since I am maxed out I keep the shock aether and I go to the reforge bin and trade the shock aether for a shock aetherheart and use it to power surge any of my shock weapons.
I just realized they took blood splat out
the half-life, Iceborne build/Sword speed glitch ( even tho I only got one day to use it ) was the most fun I've had on this game. Now I've probably only played it like 3-4 times within the last year
but that was breaking the game
basically
you could hit
without dodging
or giving a fuck
you could literally read a book and have an autoclicker press heavy
and easy kill
What happened to Dauntless?
Monster Hunter World.
lack of original radiant anf umbral behemoths, reforge, the new hunt pass system
In dark times a brave soul might say, "well, its not the end of the game. But unless we can pull off a miracle, it will be."
Reforged killed it for me.
I can't grind just for the sake of grinding
Not exactly true, the problem both Warframe and Dauntless suffer is that the developers don't agree with the players on what is fun.
Nailed it.
And keep in mind Monster Hunter Rise is getting a massive DLC in 1 month, so that's that
They also did the repeaters dirty.
My favourite line is from spore struck video. “The behemoth caught these hands with the swiftness and then collapsed with the quickness” 😂😂😂😂
I remember when I always used to play with you and Revvy when Dauntless was first getting started but when Trials came out I kinda lost interest in the game. When I saw the route the game was headed I knew it was time to find something else.
I played this when the Monster Hunter hype was high.
Always good to see an OhDough video still
?-?
I'm honestly confused
if you have a good old account
you would get aetherhearts, since the game gave more according to armor and weapon levels
so the higher level your weapons / armor were
the more hearts you got
so wdym they got reseted
Prime dauntless blaze and umbra esca I loved dauntless at that time
@@leonardoleal3526 That was the peak we all gonna miss
The reason I played dauntless was because of the Twin Suns and Virulent Impact combo during the release of the shock escalation… it was absolute fun!
Got me in the feels bro
I hated reforge so much because all my armour and weapon cells were +1. I grinded so much for the items to upgrade my stuff and it's just wasn't worth it at that point
I quit when they changed the iceborne meta. I loved iceborne, rage, wild frenzy, and disapline combo.
but they changed it because it was too broken
you could literally get an autoclicker and occasionaly change where you're aiming
and the game would play for itself
you wouldn't die cuz IB was too broken
One more problem: in the past we've got just 1 hunt pass, for both platinum and new armor set. Now we have 2 seperated hunt pass: 1 for platinum, and 1 for armor set :)
Dauntless was my sit when it dropped on the console. But they lost me when they took away the ability to make low life builds. Iceborn, wild frenzy, discipline, rage, it was these mods that made the game fun because of your ability to downright strip a behemoth in a matter of seconds........I miss the good ol' days.
Dauntless is missing a shield weapon and thats been the biggest problem to me at least
The players are gone, and they still dont change the game
You can get aetherhearts without reforging but it takes twice the amount of aethersparks and doesn’t contribute to unlocking perks
I still remember the nights watching yourself, Deboltex, Xanny and Revvy playing trials. Best laughs back in those days.
As a long timer play of Dauntless, I'd like it if they added raid style monsters that more than 4 players join. Where you could get different items to craft better gear and continue leveling up.
Maybe like a multi-stage raid with 8 players and you have to fight a huge behemoth at the end?

5. Create the ability to Dominate creatures in a certain game type where you PVP or PVE
6. A Story co-op game would be appreciated.
etc. The game dev team seem to be fresh out of inspired ideas. It's a shame because it's a good concept but it just becomes repetitive fast & very grindy in trying to mine resources.
Last nail in the coffin for me was when they ruined my main wep. Rip chainblades, miss ya buddy
Nothing, literally. Thats the problem.
For me the biggest turn off was when reforged brought all these huge changes so quickly, I miss the old patrols where you could hunt singular monsters and actually track them down
Instead of just going from one monster to the other.
Honestly, I just want to ask a phnxlab dev on why they thought reforge was even remotely okay.

If trials felt like dark souls 1,2 and 3….. sign me up

I want:
1: Insane mode.
I love dauntless still, but prefer to be able to play vindictus again.
guys remember when escalation was first added? ahh the golden age...
Monster Hunter Sunbreak is looking as good as ever!
I want that god hand glitch
i think the addition of radiant escalation has made the game more enjoyable, except the fact that the final radiant boss, the Chronovore, isn't that hard to beat
Dauntless basically did this: Live by the F2P, Die by the F2P. not saying F2P games are bad, but if you dont consistently produce some form of content for your playerbase, it will dry up and die
but we are getting content
it's content that's easy to farm though
like new behemoths
or new esca
that's content
it's just content that won't last a season
For someone that played dauntless for a week or two (lol). It took me 3 days to reforge and get to to level 20 again. unlocked most of the things. and realised i was heading towards the optimizing for end game part of the game for the hardest escalations. But looking at rewards i realised thats the ceiling. If i beat the heroic escalation i get a fukn crown and the game is over...
i got close to the end game in 4 days and felt the need to slow down. This game is 3 years old....
I can agree with this. I started playing the game when it first came out and I definitely feel like there's nothing more to do on it
I see Dauntless as a free to play, less fun, more grindy, more tedious version of Monster Hunter
Destinova here: the real nail in the coffin was how dirty they did CB and attack speed
Oh they brought back that same stagger animation, YES.
Ran into a prestige 140 sum this morning 💀
quality take. I do enjoy the fact that the hunts dont end anymore since reforged and the gliding was a fun change but It could use some other stuff
Dauntless should get a story mode
The CBS “Refresh”(Or in reality it’s Rotten Nerf)
The escalation was pretty fun
You hit a progress wall very quickly as a new player.
It all started when I downloaded the game and had to sprint with RT
I think you forgot to mention how they fucked up the chainblades.
i remember in COD mw3 when you prestige you could unlock 1 weapon when you used prestige i was first like: why would i reset my level i lose all my items. but my friend was like: you get profile borders and a cooler flare. DOPAMINE RUSH GOES BRRRRR
Back before this reforge system came out, dauntless was golden when we would load up to kill a single behemoth man those fights were honestly the best ugh....
Yeah, My wife and I haven't been on dauntless in a while.
What happened was Monster Hunter World was 50% off
