- On 15th March Edie returned to the stockade along with the rest of Emily’s unit dragging a loose wire snare around her leg which she allowed the Keepers to easily remove.
They were however concerned about Edie’s unusual behavior since she kept intermittently lying down and seemed exhausted. Little did they know that she was in fact in labour!

Established in 1977, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) operates the world’s most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program, rescuing and hand-rearing orphaned elephants and other animals that have lost their mothers, all too often as a result of human activity. I love how all the elephants know there is a safe place and help for them if they ever need it. I had no idea how much I love elephants. Thank you for everything you do.

That is adorable how Emma is watching over the new Eden showing her the ropes. They will be so happy & fun growing up together
After everything this elephant has been through it sickens me that she still arrived back at the stockade, the day before she gave birth, with a poacher's snare wire around her leg. If it wasn't for wonderful people like these, who put their heart and soul into caring for the elephants I really would believe humans are the scourge of the earth.
My heart gets such a happy lift when blessed w/viewing such scenes as y'all share. This tops the list! Thank you, most sincerely! *God* bless you all & all those critters that you help!

Blown away by Emma's fascination with Eden, you can see she pushes Eden away from her human family back to the safety of the ex-orphans, I love it!.
