Yup, and by the way, Im wondering about what dinosaurs will be in season 2.
I like that, at the end, the Texas girl is like "We're all friends!" (like the trope goes so wearily often...) and the other kids are like "... No we're not? We're surviving together but we know jack shit about each other, the only real thing we have in common is that we want to survive so... We're not even close to being friends."
That actually made me smile because that's how it is in real life. It made the show feel more real.
Well, yeah! You don't become great friends with the people you survive with in a matter of a few days! That stuff takes time.

@@macaarrooon , and guess what? Based on some reveiws I watched, a lot of people HATE this show! Because, the people who hate, thought the characters were dislikeable.
It is. I am glad they were realistic about that, and even as kids it showed they had some real emotional depth. That being said however, they DO have a bond because of the unfortunate circumstances they had been thrown into, and that bond can make for some solid friendships.
What I love about Bumpy and Ben’s relationship is “they imprint on the first creatures they come in contact with” which is why Bumpy follows Ben

I know, I that it was going to be a shit kid show. But after watching it I actually enjoyed the show
Seriously. I was cautiously optimistic but mostly skeptical, but honestly I was sold after the first episode. Before the end of the first episode, actually. I loved what they did with this and can't wait for season 2!
Every character except from darrius and the fitness freak girl was just so annoying, until the end, apart from the spy girl, she was just annoying as hell and became insufferable once she revealed she was a spy and took those samples and stuff, just if only they would keep Ben dead, this first series will have a massive impact on the tone of the next, and hopefully make it even better than this one

I love how all the kids in the series are so frustrated with the park due to nothing working, makes them feel more real and more relatable since you'd feel the same way in their shoes. It's a small detail but I'm glad it's a recurring thing they added.
This show had a diverse cast without making diversity an issue. It’s already winning more than most live action Netflix kids and teens shows

Can you give an example of a show with a diverse cast that did make diversity an issue? I can't think of one that I've seen.
I like how darius did a braciosaurus call with his hands just like Alan grant did in jurassic park. I also like how the beginning of the first episode was so a throw back to the start of the raptor level in the lost world on ps1 even the guys screaming was a perfect match.
The bioluminescence of the parasolophus, is probably the reason they aren't in Fallen Kingdom. They would just be dinner with lights. So it's easier for carnivores.
Yeah, also, this series is where jurassic world the game got the parasolophus gen 2 from, because it came out in the game a little bit before the shows release I think it might be the other way around tho
but they are semi-aquatic, that way they basically can run from everything
But they are in falling kingdom because when the dinosaurs are being freed from the cages you can see parasaurolopus in those scenes

One thing I appreciated most: they did not defang the Indominus Rex in any way... it’s still the most lethal killing machine the planet has ever seen.
There were several scenes where I was reminded of the terror that creature would cause: the brachi being ripped down through the canopy, the two park workers getting shredded, Eddie getting his comeuppance and the trained, professional ACU team getting wrecked by this monstrosity, this new queen of the food chain. Blew me away and then some.

As much as I adore the T-Rex, it's kind of refreshing that it's not the main carnivore we get to see. I believe the people at Universal understood the value and popularity for the Carno as well and I love that.
It also helped with continuity since this takes place during Jurassic World, we would already know that the Trex was in its paddock up until the last fight, which wouldve been while they were in the tunnels
I loved how they don’t rush to show the Rex in life

The one thing that frustrated me with this show, was when Darius was holding onto Ben in the monorail. Like, no one tried helping him?! They were all clearly there and there was enough time. And then, after Ben falls, Brooklyn and Kenji are RIGHT behind Darius as if they had tried to help! That got me so mad when I watched that scene! They could have saved Ben!
Other than that, fantastic show! I’m glad it caught me off guard and cannot wait for a season 2!

my head cannon was they were holding onto Darius as an anchor so Darius wouldn't fall out too from Ben's weight.

They ripped off how to train your dragon in one scene then the third how to train your dragon in another one. The acting is sometimes horrible. They do illogical things. They fall into the Mosa enclosure and talk about it after they realise instead of paddling. When they’re going up the stairs from the carno the shots constantly replay them being at the bottom of the stairs or sometimes they changed the size of the stairs entirely. When Ben was gonna fall from the Monorail everyone must’ve fallen asleep or something. The show is terrible
Maybe it was a nod to JP when Tim didn't do a damn thing to help Alan and Ellie when the velociraptor was trying to get into the control room.

Honestly the scene in the first episode when they go zip lining with the jp music playing. It got me. I think it might be my favorite “welcome to jp” moment since the first film. Maybe it’s since I love zip lining but all I could think of during this scene was “oh god I wanna go there.”

Honestly, we were given 4, MAYBE 5 kills in 8 episodes. Ben got on my nerves. I was initially worried for him, but realized he would survive... It didn't really make it any better once I knew that.

Season 2's gonna have Ben turn into a grizzled, buff survivalist who grows a foot, drops an octave and rides a 15 ft Bumpy carrying weapons made out of dinosaur bones.
Ironically, Ben was originally going to be the oldest, a tall, athletic kid, and Kenji was going to be a nerdy Asian kid with glasses named Xi.
That’s if Ben survives that long but he’s gonna come because it’s a great opportunity for Ben to have revenge against Darius

Does anyone find it very tragic that Darius's father died of a genetic disease that a biotech company like Ingen could have prevented. Rather than researching cancer causing gene and gene therapy they made theme park dinosaurs for commercial profit. I know Hammond mentioned the Biopharmaceutical business in the novel and Darius's father kinda reminds me of that part.
Reminds me of that pic from the xmen where spiderman asks Sauron why he doesn't cure cancer and Sauron responds he wants to turn people into dinosaurs.

Jurassic Park and Spider-Man are of course fiction but there characters and messages are very real. Look up Martin Shkreli, dudes like him would fit perfectly at Biosyn lol
So you're saying that no large corporation should be doing any kind of research that does not have any direct benefit to the overall wellness of people and/or the world in general? That's not the way the world works and I see no reason why a company like Ingen shouldn't be allowed to pursue whatever kind of research it wants to so long as it's ethical and legal. Beisdes, for all we know there could have been a pharmaceutical/medical research branch of Ingnen or perhaps a subsidiary that does it.
@@Riceball01 You're right companies can do want ever research they want. However, I share the same real worries Crichton had back in the 1990's and mid 2000's about genetic commercialization. If a company can mess with the Earth genetic heritage by making square trees for easier lumbering and pale fish for eesier fishing, then I personal see that as a frivolous use of genetic research. Back in 1997 a sheep was cloned named "Dolly" it was perfect aside from arthritis. It's now 2020 it's not science fiction anymore to say we can clone the perfect human. CRISPER is a technolgy that has been making large moves during 2019 and it's the first step in designer babies. And that to me is very creepy. As far as the fictional company of INGEN goes it's really a grey area when it comes to there work being ethical or legal. The books, films, and deeper lore all point towards INGEN being a very unethical and legally questionable company (Illeaglly cloned species). Also there's no evidence pointing toward an INGEN Pharma branch. The only time biopharmaceutical was brought up in Jurassic Park was in the novel where John Hammon said he'd never get into helping humanity.
I hope they discuss this in season 2 , and also drop nuggets about human cloning.

I personally really loved the show! But something I noticed that I thought was weird is that when the pteranodons break out of the birdcage, I didn’t see not even a single dimorphodon. Other than that I really enjoyed the characters and the animation. In fact the scene with the water fall and the bioluminescent parasaurs was particularly well animated.

What did you watch? Hardly a scene goes by without the characters talking about their feelings and the true meaning of friendship and stupid little kid drama and all that other garbage.
A group of kids outsmart not only the normal dinos but also supposedly the world's greatest apex predator, the Indominious rex, multiple times. They always conveniently find a way out of the situation that they are in. So often, in fact, that it becomes a gag in later episodes. Just because the show calls out it's lazy writing doesn't make it OK.
I will certainly agree with you that it feels like a Jurassic World movie though. Terrible writing, terrible script, terrible just about everything. They couldn't even get the animation right.
It sucks that you JW fans will just accept any garbage Universal puts out and will worship it. I really want to see a return to form for the JP franchise. Sadly, its newer fans love the dogshit that universal puts out so the studio will never change directions and will continue to make garbage until the newer fans grow up and go "that was actually terrible"

Another reference to the films that I noticed (& I'm also surprised that you guys didn't) is the Indominus's ability to communicate with the other species that makeup its' genetic code. At the end of the 4th Episode (Things Fall Apart), we see the Indominus interact with Toro & it's heavily implied that it freed him. Carnotaurus is also part of the Indominus's genetic code, so it kind of makes sense?

Carnotaurus were very fast runners, maybe it could outrun the I-rex and the I-rex was smart enough to understand it.

I was with Klayton, I didn’t think they’d kill Ben. Especially since there was an episode break while he was still hanging on. I thought Darius would pull him back in.
I was so shocked and impressed when Ben fell out of the monorail and I thought they’d actually killed him off. It struck me as really brave for this show
great series, and i loved the beginning of ep 4, "you mean you plan to leave these kids alone? our kids? the kids that seem to be determined to be trampled and or eaten?"
Not that is really matters but here's my thoughts:
I really like they added sass to Wu's character.. in the JP movie franchise he doesn't really seem like a bad guy.. and I haven't read the books but I heard in the books he is portrayed as the villain.
It was shocking to see that characters actually died!!!

It was cool to see the time line of Jurassic World and Camp Cretaceous line up! Subtle hints but if you watched JW you can tell they lined up.
Overall I really enjoyed watching this show!! I like how the episodes were short and sweet. Even though it may be directed toward the younger audience, as a 24 year old & jurassic park lover, it was enjoyable!! 10/10 would recommend!!

In the books he was a good guy Hammond was the villian. Wu in the books wanted to make the dinos more lathargic and less agressive but Hammond didnt want that. Also wu dies in the first book, killed by raptors.
To add, Wu in the film franchise basically was turned into what Hammonds character was in the book, arrogant and self serving thinking only of his own sucess, fame and gain.
I wouldn't say Wu is a villain, he just wants his work to be respected.

Hey! Don't spoil the series finale! This timeline hasn't made it there yet!
Kenji going from 'im the Leader but if anyone dies its actually your fault Darius' immediately turning around and disassociating for an entire episode when Ben died was the thing that made me like him. Like the joke went away and he felt so much guilt about it. So he took the bag, and tried to save Bumpy in Ben's absence and lost his mind when he lost her. Also just the rest of the nods to Ben in that final fight like, he's not there but the hand sanitizer was important and they took a moment to thank their fallen friend for his help. The twist with Sammy being the spy after they've made us Convinced its Brooklyn. They did so good with this and I'm so excited for season 2.
We were All convinced they weren't gonna kill any of the kids, but the teasing they did with Ben, really made you wonder if they'd actually do it.
My friend was like 'Ben's gonna show up riding a dinosaur and kenji's gonna lose his mind' and that dinosaur is Going to be a full grown Bumpy mark my words.
My own theory is stuff's gonna happen with Blue to help explain why she doesn't trust Owen at first in fallen kingdom.
Also just the sheer amount of dumb decisions made because its an amusement park not a zoo. Like, connecting the river ride to the mosasaur, I lost my mind. Why are those places connected by a heavy current? What's to stop anyone from going down that way in normal park time? The zipline being low enough they could actually hit one of the taller long neck dinos is just asking for death. The Camp being within like an hours walk of the RAPTOR pen? (It had to be close by)
Not a soul was expecting the kids to actually get left but the second there was sunlight...I knew it. I thought they'd find the Camp people there though.

The fact that both camp counselors left the kids alone to go talk to Claire drove me up the wall. At least one of them should have stayed behind. The lack of supervision these kids had on the island was just bonkers.
Some other things that bothered me though that I don’t see anyone talking about,
Kanji and Darius not getting in any trouble for hurting Toro in the first place. Weren’t there any cameras? Damaging a million dollar asset seems like at least they should have been sent home.
The Indo not killing Toro or even looking like they fought didn’t make sense. Wouldn’t it have killed Toro?

The only scene that makes me cry is when Ben nearly dead but I was Relief and I’m happy that he’s alive also for bumpy because those two are going to survive together

In my own opinion I loved episode 7 the realization of they may no longer be friends and will go on with there lives, and gut feeling of the glass braking right next to Ben and the pteranodon grabbing him was scary, my reaction of the episode oh there going to leave everyone alive and well and BOOM Bens gone and I holding on for life and he gone and they want to go back for him but they know it’s not the best. It was great show I love it and will watch it about 10 more times

I love this show, it really led up to my hope of being the clone wars of the jurassic franchise. Bumpy was a surprisingly great character, and I found myself relating to Darius and Ben.

This show has no chill whatsoever, AND I’M ALL FOR IT.
I just realised that we could see suchomimus (hopefully with the jwe design and soundeffects), euplocephalus, metriacanthosaurus(hopefully the jurassic world website design), spinosaurus(maybe the even the exact one from JP3), Deinonychus(they were on the nublar menu soo we could see them fight blue), majungasaurus, ceratosaurus, edmontosaurus, microceratus and maybe even the troodon from jurassic world live.
Holy crap, that's a lot of them.
I cursed myself a little for watching it all in a single day because now I have to wait a full year for season 2

Not really, sure he was the leader, but he definitely wasn’t perfect, remember when he had like a breakdown cause all the stress he had from caring everyone on his shoulders and everyone depending on him? And half of the things he has done was wil help with everyone else in the group.
Despite the animation, I was honestly surprised the way this show turned out. It was a fun and entertaining show.
The art style was ok but movement was great
I really liked Camp Cretaceous, I felt that the people who made the show were really caring and respectful towards the franchise and its history. I'm really happy about it!!!

Okay no I went through it again. He shuts down the control room right after the Indominus is killed, probably left the island with Claire and Owen and the kids.
Damn I absolutely loved this First Season, A bit taken back that the kids didn't make the boats, but the show did make them a OP team. I mean s#*t, these kids really kicked ass the whole show, lmao. Loved the world building, the throwback yet updated character tropes,and the progression of all of those characters arc's. Man, then the whole Darius storyline almost had me tearing up. Lost my father in January this year, and Him and I used to religiously fall asleep to JP1 when I was a kid, so that story really tugged at my heart strings bruh, seriously had to hold the tears back. Was pretty damn surprised about the Ben fall, but you knew they couldn't just kill off a kid like that. Especially after the kids lost Bumpy. They did the Ben fall in Michael Bay slo-mo style as well, lmfao, I actually liked Ben's character, old school nerd type. Dope ending which has me thinking as well! Where the hell were the kids In Fallen Kingdom?????????? Did they sneak on the boat unbeknownst to Claire, Owen, and the entire Mercenary Unit?????? Or did they survive Fallen Kingdom.......... and are still on the ISLAND?!?!?!?!? Possibilities abound!

The thing that kind of annoyed me throughout the show is that whenever they ran into situations that happened in the first Jurassic World they were like minutes away from meeting up with Zack and Grey or Owen and Clair, but that always happens in spin off shows
It doesn’t actually happen in this show. The kids do encounter some of locations from the film, like Zach and Gray’s crashed GyroSphere, but it’s not until long after the film has left the location. It’s more like Jurassic Park The Game, where characters end up in some of the same places as the film characters but it’s not Missed It By *That* Much.

when Ben died I thought he actually "died" cause every kept saying none of these characters will die and because all the other kids where acting like he was actually dead even though they all survived the zipline fall when the Indom was attacking

I watched the whole series in one sitting, and my goodness it was fantastic! Im 22 years old and my goodness I cannot believe how intense it is! I honestly had low expectations and it blew my mind how great it was!
I was pretty sad that Ben was almost killed... he was the only kid there that wasn't troublesome
I agree! I really loved Ben since the start. His reaction to things were honestly a mood. I know that if I were in their situation I wouldn't have been brave. I felt he was the most realistic when in a dangerous situation. Also, his love for Bumpy nd not wanting to leave him alone was so cute. Ben was so precious and honestly really underrated. My heart broke when I thought he died. I was so proud he'd finally done something to get over his fear but it didn't end so well for him. I wonder how much is this going to impact his character in future seasons. Is he not going to take more risks? Is it going to empower him? He made a bold move and almost died. It could be something he needed to push him past his boundaries. If he didn't die puling that stunt then what more could he do? I'm really hoping that he isn't actually dead and that he'll meet up with the others. He'll properly be on bed rest with Yaz though. That fall couldn't have been pretty.

Overall I enjoyed it. It for some reason kept reminding me of the lost world novel. The characters can be cliched and cheesy, but they get more enjoyable. I liked the dinosaurs and the animation is pretty good too

The mosa was a favourite of mine ,Toro in the tunnel, and the monorail scene and the Indominus scene in Happy Birthday Eddie because it reminded me of the raptors in the kitchen scene!
But the Raptor Pen scene could’ve been avoidable, Ben could’ve been saved by the others if they all helped!!
The T rex didn’t show up because it was locked up, during Jurassic world the movie Claire at the the end takes him out of the cage so that he can help blue defeat the indominus Rex. Since the camp was on the other side of the actually theme park. While everything was happening.
The T-Rex is a girl. And actually Blue helps Rexy defeat the Indominus Rex because Rexy was about to killed by Indominus Rex until Blue showed up.
You know if they really wanted to get dark, when Yazmin was injured I was half expecting someone to say something about leaving her behind, like Kenji since he seemed so distraught when they abandoned Ben, because they thought he was dead.

@@Neef_Leef Lowery got off island on the same ferry that Owen, Clair, Barry, Zack, Grey, their parents, and other people that were still in the infirmary, that was going back to Costa Rica.
Biggest gripes about the show:
1. Sammy's accent going from non-existent to Sandy from Spongebob Squarepants over-the-top in the same scene was horrible and distracting.
2. I kept asking "Why the hell aren't the Dimorphodons with the Pterodactyls in any of their scenes???"
3. Manticore must be a pretty inept company if they're entrusting kids with gathering DNA for them.
Good to see that I wasn't the only who noticed Sammy's accent coming and going throughout the seires.
Biosyn entrusted a tubby nerd to steal embryos.... Sure, he programmed the place, but he was dumb enough to disable EVERY fence, not just the ones in his way.

I’m not afraid to admit I had my doubts about this show too. But it managed to pull at my heartstrings, managed to have me “oh shit” and “oooh!” out loud to myself. I even cried a little when Ben, you know. That’s how invested I got with these characters, and I’m glad Kenji wasn’t annoying in the end. Oh, and the eastereggs and callbacks made me feel like such a Jurassic nerd; I loved it. Overall, love this show, but now I regret finishing it all in one night because now I have nothing left :(

Just finished binge watching the series with my son. Totally worth the time and memories.
Bumpy was the best character, he doesn't actually speak and he's cute as hell. It also helps that anqilasourus is my favorite dinosaur.
The animation for the intro looks just as good as the show itself.
I just got finished watching he show and I’ve got to say that the animation is shit. It feels like they spent their whole budget on the dinosaur models and environments and had nothing left for the character animations and models. In episode seven where they’re trying to avoid Tauros and Darius makes a dash for the stairs he starts running in place when he gets there and his feet very obviously just slide across the ground when he turns, it looks like an NPC turning. And there are so many other moments like it, mostly in the last few episodes because they’re moving more

Since were here on a spoil review I have a theroy for season two in which they make their new base in the Hotel where Kenji's dad has a penthouse. Figure they need a base of operations to rest up since the tree top village was destroyed. Though I thought this was a shame as I thought it would be a cool place the campers could use as a home but the hotel/condos mention will probally be thier new temparoy home.
They were kind of tied down in season one, they had to make sure that everything that happens in the show needs to correlate with Jurassic World. In season 2 they have a lot more creative freedom to have dinosaurs that they couldn’t have in season one. I’d personally love for the T-Rex to be the main villain for season 2. I hope we don’t have to wait long for it to come out.
Tyler Shepard Rexy will pose a serious threat to the kids but will pose an even bigger threat to bumpy and me thinking that would Steven and Colin have the guts to kill bumpy? Either by the suchomimus/baryonyx or Rexy.
But Knowing Netflix and their lengthy time with Race to the Edge, it may be a month..., or 4
We need to talk more about the carnotaur chase scene with the compies and red lighting. That scene really hooked me into the show.
I liked how the characters started out as tropes. It set up a bunch of expectations for the characters that it subverted by giving surprising depth to each of them.
Also the mom and dad energy of Dave and Roxy is so much fun.
I watched the other one yesterday. Also the Biolumencent Parasolaphus might be a reference to the Minecraft Jurassic World DLC.
I've just finished watching it today... to be honest I watched the whole season today.
When they blew up the carno I thought of "smile you son of a-" from Jaws. Glad I wasn't the only one who thought of Jaws.
I was excited for the show since the minute the first image was released, but I wasn't expecting THIS!
I couldn't stop watching it until the last episode, as that at the ending of each episode they always make you want more and more.
I hope that the show gets as many views as it deserves, they've delivered an amazing work, so much enjoyable for kids as it is for us that grew up with the movies.

duuude this series just exceeded expectations and I love it, loved all the homages and references haha. the character progressions is just so good and engaging and the story ties in soo well with the movie i loved the fact that claire's nephews were almost invited to camp haha really cool thing, and that kayak sequence the one thing popped to my mind is that it's a homage to the JP ride, cus it also had a parasaur spitting water at you thats a really cool detail. ugh i could go on and on haha i had fun especially watching it with my brother we had fun cant s2 come any sooner hahaha
I really liked this show. The animation for the dinosaurs was so great and the fight against the Carnotaurus at the season finale was so tense and action packed, and the scene when Ben fell of the monorail was so sad.
The best thing about Camp Cretaceous is that it doesn't feel dumbed down. Like Jacob said, Paw Patrol with dinosaurs this is NOT.
