Hi Jake, Lee and Will! I am Tania (from one of the portfolios you looked at), I just wanted to THANK YOU very much for the encouragement! I will definitely go on, full gas!
Thanks for a great podcast. It helps to be reminded to update the old portfolio. It is something we need to do regularly but neglect. I miss the banter!! Please don't skip it next time. PS: I prefer your longer videos. Keeps my mind and ears busy while I am working.
📖re: SPP - I've taken other classes about self-publishing before, but nothing compares to Self-Publishing Pro (SPP). Will, Lee, and Jake generously share their best tips and strategies for self-publishing, based on their real world experience. They help you with the mindset, planning, and decisions you'll need to make to self-publish. Finding your audience, obtaining funding, self-publishing, and selling and distribution. After THIS class (and no others before it), I feel fully confident that I can self-publish in a profitable way and I have a road map for doing so. I'm profoundly grateful! Thanks Will, Lee, and Jake! 💜
😂😂😂 You guys teaching each other German words and butchering every single one of them (apart from Schmetterling) was the most hilarious thing I've heard today! Brilliant.
We need LittleBot and Sparrow stickers to plaster on the Wild Robot one sheets and cardboard promotions in the theater! And for Lee, everyone needs to leave a real turnip laying next to the carrots book in Barnes & Nobel.
Where/when can we submit questions/portfolio reviews? Is there a paid option? Thanks! Amazing episode as usual. You guys make me a lot of company while I work. Love the longest episodes!😂
What you said about Little Bot makes me sad too. I did not know about the Peter Brown book, but I was at the movies and saw the preview for the movie of the wild robot. I thought it was so much like your book and wondered…. It does look good and so very emotional. But I raise my Diet Dr Pepper to Little Bot and Sparrow!🥤
Loved this episode! 🎉 lots of good stuff from a great trio of illustrators- the best in the business! … I could totally picture how each of you would draw a cat.
In my opinion it is such a COOL name for an insect, to call it something with "dragon" in it! :D In German dragonfly is called "Libelle". I wished it had a name related to dragons. ;)
Btw "pencil" in German is "Bleistift", without the "n". :D "Blei" means "lead", and "Stift" means pen/pencil, but usually only means those that have a WOODEN ... umn... sheathing.

Your illustrations look super cool! Looking forward to seeing your children's books! (I've got kids, so ... see you on the shelves. 😉🥰)

Raising a glass to "Little Bot and Sparrow" and turnips.

Too short! Lol. Didn’t even finish my sketching. Y’all need something fun to rant about next week. 😊

Is there a discount for SPPro if you’ve taken CBPro?

I rate this episode 6/10 for no rant

I like how Jake's story proves that the idea isn't as important as the execution
What are you talking! Dragonfly is a magical word. Libélula it is too, but WHAT!
